Calzones, Stromboli and garlic knots
Beth R.

Yall!!! This place is insanely good! We ordered a delivery for 2 calzones and 1 Stromboli. If we'd known they would be so huge, we could have ordered less. These things are MASSIVE!! BUT so so tasty. They arrived hot and fresh and packed to the brim with gooey yummy cheese and toppings. I highly recommend trying this place. Service was great. I didn't go inside so I can't comment in ambience.

Had their calzone at the Northeast Jazz and Wine Festival. Wow! Two of us split one calzone, but it was actually enough food for three people. Lots of cheese. Delicious! We got the marinara sauce, but the calzone didn't need it. Service at the food truck was fast and friendly. If you see them at a festival, try the calzone!

I came home to a menu shoved under my door and thought "what the heck, I'll try them!" Seems like they're moving to a new location soon, but at the moment they're still in the strip in the Lyncourt neighborhood near Nice Biscuit. The shop is pretty small. There are a couple of stools but this is more of a take-out vs eat in place, which is fine. A couple of qualms. I was going to grab a seltzer from the fridge but ultimately put it back because it added $3 onto my total. When I bought a double can at a gas station for half as much earlier in the day I just can't justify that kinda upcharge. More worrisome, I'm a pescatarian and was sold a pizza that had chicken on it. Went with the firework fry pizza. On the menu that was slipped under my door, there was no mention of chicken on the pizza, but on Yelp, somebody mentioned it having chicken tenders. When I called and placed my order, I specifically asked whether it had meat on it and the cashier told me no. I did peek at the box at the shop but the chicken looks a lot like the fries so I didn't notice until I got it home. Maybe I should have asked about chicken specifically, or been clearer that I was a vegetarian? Regardless, it would be pretty easy to check and it's also a big faux pas to not clearly label a meat item on a menu. The chicken was pretty big chunks so I picked it off, but I would have preferred it be omitted from the get go. The pizza itself was good, albeit carbariffic. Price the pizza a was good, and nice that could get smaller size for around $10. The menu has a lot of calorie dense items, so this spot is good if you want to indulge. I do love all the creative specialty pizza options they advertise. Mine was loaded with fries, jalapeños, cheese, ranch, and special sauce and was admittedly pretty tasty. Healthy eating is on my horizon for the immediate future, so I probably will not be back super soon.

Finally! I got the chance to try a new pizza spot. I NEVER eat pizza! So I went on their Facebook page to do a delivery order. The actual delivery time ended up being late. But when I called to verify my order earlier, the number I gave online was one number off. They tried to call me and explain. Oops, my bad. When the order arrived, I was heading out the door to my sons house to watch some March Madness. The delivery had to wait another 15 min trip. Total trip time prolly 1/2 to an hour before eating. I know what " box steam " can do to a traveling pizza. But let me tell you, it was worth the wait! The first I tried was the pizza with cupping pepperoni and sausage. Traditional brick oven NY pizza. Wow. I was very pleased. Top 10 Cuse area! I could only imagine eating it after it came straight out of the oven. It would've been amazing. We also ordered a Detroit style pizza. That too was authentic and true to the name. To our surprise they threw in an order of wings. I guess compensation for the delivery time. No need, but greatly appreciated. I believe they were the everything wings. I gotta say, they were very unique. I never had that taste in a wing sauce before. Crispy and covered with plenty of sauce too. One of a kind, and on point! They need to represent with those in The Battle of The Wings that is coming up! I'm not sure of what the side sauce was. Tasted like a sweet heat. Great to dip the wings in! Maybe even to drizzle over the pizza!‍ All in all a great experience. My family who dined also agreed. I'm definitely a fan. Next time I'll have to try some calzones, or some other menu items. I can't wait to reheat the the leftovers for a more out of oven experience. Check em out!!!

Breaded mushrooms and hot chargrilled wings.

Family owned by a former manager for Pies Guys Pizzeria, Pizza Cutters opened in 2018 in Lyncourt and say they serve "Syracuse style" pizza, which means a slightly thicker crust that, more often than not, is cut into strips rather than wedges, although they'll cut it however you want. The shop serves the classics: pizza, wings, subs, salads, calzones and wraps. Fried haddock is available daily. They also offer catering, with more Italian favorites such as eggplant parmesan and lasagna. Friends of ours have raved about Pizza Cutters, so naturally, we had to check them out. Their menu is very interesting, a ton of very creative topping combinations, so it definitely caught my interest. Wife and I ordered on a Saturday. The girl who answered the phone was not at all friendly and seemed bothered by my call. We tried the Firework Fry pizza, topped with fries, chicken tenders, jalapenos, mozzarella, cheddar and boom boom sauce, and an order of breaded mushrooms and hot wings char grilled. Food was ready when I got there, on time when I was told it would be. Small, delivery/take out only place, no seating. Easy on street parking right in front. Again, employees were not very welcoming. I walked in to the woman at the counter having some kind of argument with their delivery driver, who was dropping F bombs like there was no tomorrow. Now, I'm not at all offended by the language, but it's definitely unprofessional, especially making a customer wait while you finish up your heated discussion. Woman at the counter again wasn't very friendly or welcoming when she finally did acknowledge me. Got home and we really liked the pizza. I'm a firm believer that pizza that is cut into squares is no good, and I probably would've asked for triangles had I known, but the pizza was good. Ton of flavor, toppings were great. The wings were not, on the other hand. 0 sauce on them, just bone dry, not even any sauce in the container from them. Wife loved the mushrooms though, said they were some of the best she's ever had. Prices were fair and comparable to similar pizza places. Not 100% sure I'd go again. The pizza was good and there were definitely other combos I was interested in trying, and I'd chalk up the wings to an off night usually, but the lack of professionalism from the employees was pretty off putting.

Extra X-Large Pizza

I really really wanted to love this place considering it is so close to my house, however I can't give it more than 3 stars. It was "okay" but that's all it was. I got the extra large pepperoni pizza and chicken riggies, which came with 2 garlic knots. The garlic knots were so hard on the top that it hurt my teeth to bite through but the doughy parts were good. The riggies... just don't get them from here it tastes like pasta with marinara sauce from a jar. The pizza would be good party pizza but for the price I expected more than that! Overall, edible and would eat it again if someone else ordered it but I'm throwing the riggies away because those just can't be eaten.

If you have never dined at The Old Ledge, all I can say is GET. THERE. NOW!…read more Don't be fooled by the looks of this place, I promise you, you will receive some of the best food you've ever had in your life! I stopped in on wing Wednesday, and boy, oh boy, was I in for a treat. On Wednesdays, their wings are .75 cents per wing, a minimum of 10 per order. So, in true foodie fashion, I decided to order some for "now and later." I chose their Val wings, Salt & Pepper, and Korean BBQ. We also ordered a Cheesesteak, I had been told by 2 people that this was the best cheesesteak in town, and I just had to try it for myself. Let's start with their wings. Are they a great value ? Yes! Were they amazing? Also, yes! These wings were simply great. Great size, great flavor profile, just great across the board! I can't imagine coming here and not ordering their wings. So good! You're probably thinking, well, what about the cheesesteak... well, I can assure you that the 2 people who suggested I try it did not steer me wrong. This cheesesteak was delicious!!! Full of tender steak, toppings, and loaded with cheese just how I love it. To make matters even better on Tuesdays, you can order a loaded cheesesteak & fries for only $8. The Old Ledge is truly a hidden gem. Great atmosphere, amazing bar staff, and a phenomenal cook!

While…read moreit's typical to get the NY-style slice around here with thin, crispy crust and mounds of cheese, East of Chicago pivots a bit into the pan-style, deeper dish pizza which is a refreshing option. We have eaten here twice and both times we walked away with happy bellies and some new favorites. For our most recent visit, we ordered a sausage topped pan-style pizza along with their garlic cheesy bread. The staff working the counter were VERY friendly and welcoming when we came to pick up - very appreciated. Inside, it's small and there isn't a place to dine in, so you'll be doing take out here. Parking is on the street out front and seems to be available each time I roll by. The order took about 25 minutes to get ready and was available as promised when I picked up. The pizza was really buttery, soft, and just what you'd want from a deeper style pizza. The garlic cheese bread may have been the star of this order though. It was nice and garlicy, buttery, and cheesy...the way that GARLIC CHEESE BREAD should be :) We will be back!

I was unable to have a conversation with my boyfriend. An incredibly intoxicated man came up to me SCREAMING in my ear, while I was turned away with my finger in my ear to attempt to send a signal of disinterest and discomfort, his even more intoxicated friend then joined and encroached on my seat. When I jumped up, my skirt was stuck under him, because he was so close to me to a point that he was partially sitting on my stool. The bartender witnessed this interaction and continued pouring them drinks. While waiting for our take out order, I was so happy to have a drink in my hand. I have never "downed" a double gin and tonic faster in my life. There was no quiet corner to escape to, and my boyfriend was seething in anger and disgust the entire 20-25 minutes we waited there, as well as the 20 minute drive home. I was sorry that he didn't have a drink to take the edge off during our experience there, but he was not willing to give them a single dollar. We were greeted warmly by the bartender who was taken care of a few patrons at the bar. We grabbed menus and sat down at a separate area where the dart boards are. Sign said to go up to the bar to order. The bartender "Megan" was very friendly and made us feel at home. I ordered the smothered steak sandwich with curly fries. They had an up charge for fries over potato chips but I was in the mood for fries and it was reasonable $1.99. The sandwich was huge and I especially liked that the bun was toasted and crisp. The meat was not over cooked and the cheese was melted with the peppers and onions underneath. The fries looked pale but they were cooked and lightly salted. The cook brought the food out to us which was a nice touch. They checked on our table several times to make sure we were ok. My lunch mates had hamburgers which they really liked. Altogether a pleasant experience. This is not a fancy place but they have good reasonable food (my lunch was 15.15 total with tax and up charge for using a credit card).
