Small but intimate and…read moreopen, this is the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner, wedding, party, or even meeting space. Owner Ray Baca, has created a dream space for any event planner. The walls are original historic brick, and the furnishing is clean and modern. My favorite feature is the raw feel; this space can easily be outfitted to fit any event. The venue is also unique because of the kitchen and easy setup space for catering. You will not find another venue of this caliber with this unique setup anywhere is downtown Wilmington. The central location is also wonderful if the weddings located in downtown Wilmington. I am using this venue to host a business owner's info session. Mr. Baca has been a pleasure to work with and I hope to host other events here in the future. Tuesday night is open house if you are ever interested in dropping in to check out this beautiful event space.

Ray was a great host and made sure that we had everything we needed, without being intrusive. If you want some good photos on your day, this place will not disappoint.

Cape Fear National Country Club - The karaoke host at work. Just drop off the name of the song you want to sing and he'll do the rest.

There's a new chef in town, and…read morehe's cooking up some excellent food for hungry golfers, Brunswick Forest residents, and karaoke singers. On most Friday nights, starting at 7:00 PM, there's karaoke with host and emcee Jerry Surprise. This place can get packed quickly, so it's wise to make a reservation if you want to guarantee a table. (See my earlier review for more information on the karaoke crowd. There are some superb singers each week warbling a wide variety of country, pop, and rock songs.) One of the favorites on the menu is the seared ahi tuna appetizer, which comes with soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger. Have it seared rare, and it is quite delicious. It's also available as an entree with a side of grilled vegetables. On the gluten free side, most of their salads can be made GF, and a recent find was the Antipasti salad. It is huge! Leftovers kept well and made a nice side salad for four the next day. (We added in more fresh lettuce and a homemade dressing.) They also were able to cut up some fresh veggies for me so I could enjoy the hummus appetizer, and they even put the pita bread on a separate plate to ensure no cross-contamination. Thoughtful touch!

I had a Greek turkey sandwich on naan with sweet potato fries, and my husband had a chicken pita wrap with sweet potato fries. I really enjoyed my sandwich. It had thin slices of turkey, little bits of cucumber and whatever spices, on naan bread. I thought it was quite tasty. The sweet potato fries, not so much. They didn't taste freshly made to me. The night before we'd eaten at The Copper Penny downtown and their sweet potato fries were perfection, so these were substandard. My husband said his pita was good. His fries were the same as mine. All in all, we enjoyed most of our food. The young woman who served us was attentive and polite, our surroundings were comfortable and calm, and we'd return during the same time of day for a meal if we had the opportunity.
