After chatting with friends in the building, it doesn't sound like the board has a great relationship with its shareholders, and there's an unfortunate disconnect. After moving in, it's clear that prestige died out in the middle of sometime last century and nobody got the memo. I've never had roaches in my life. Upon moving in, we have roaches galore. We're constantly finding them in all rooms of our apartment and all over the hallways of the building. It's absolutely revolting. They're everywhere! The basement absolutely reeks of garbage all summer long, every day I want to exit through the side instead of the front, I have to hold my nose as I walk to the door it's so bad. The water is constantly being shut off due to building plumbing issues. There was recently an incident where the building didn't have water for 3 straight days, we had to rent a hotel room to use the bathroom and shower. No updates were given on the progress the entire time, just that they were "working on it". The building staircases and hallways are poorly labeled, so when you have food delivered or have company come over, it's really a 50/50 shot on whether or not they're actually able to find your apartment. The building doesn't have any modern amenities like a key fob to enter the side doors or washers and dryers linked to an app so you can see what is/isn't in use. Most buildings I've lived in the past 15 years have had these technologies. I feel deeply misled by the realtors and by the board. This building has been greatly misrepresented and I regret purchasing a co-op here. I cannot wait to leave.

What was once marketed as a "luxury community" is now a construction zone riddled with safety issues. The building shows visible structural cracks inside the walls and ceilings, and residents have been left to deal with the fallout while management and ownership pretend it's all fine. The ongoing construction has caused vibrations, dust, and damage throughout the building. Health and safety violations are being overlooked, and there's zero transparency from management about the impact of this work on the building's stability. Residents who report problems get brushed off or ignored. For the amount of rent charged here, this is completely unacceptable. Parker Towers needs an independent structural inspection and accountability from ownership (Blackstone) before something worse happens. Until then, I strongly advise anyone considering moving in: don't. The cracks aren't just in the walls -- they're in the way this place is being run.

The front security desk is properly staffed even if foot traffic / volume is significant. It is difficult to park nearby, as is always challenging in downtown Flushing. The park across the street has tennis courts and paddleball courts and a nice playground. Of course Flushing Meadow Park is a huge Park with many many amenities. We love our Doormen, especially Antoine and Tony there more like our own private concierge, much more than Doormen! They go out of their way to make sure that our needs are met and have often exceeded my expectations; sometimes I think they know what I need even before I realize I need it! These hard-working men make it a pleasure to live at the Fairview. 24 hour security is visible and constantly patrolling the building and the grounds. There is a courtyard with picnic tables and chairs to relax and enjoy the evening breeze. There is also a private play ground for residence and a small basketball court also. The huge laundry room makes it almost a pleasure to do laundry it is card operated and almost all the machines work very rarely have to wait for a machine. Parking can be a challenge so you may want to purchase an apartment that has a parking space on the lease already. There is both indoor and outdoor parking that is reasonably priced. The management office has always responded to my needs and addressed issues quickly and appropriately. Although I am not a pet owner, the building is pet friendly. Management seems to understand the importance of pet ownership and pet owners are respectful of their home and surrounding property. I have no issues with noise or pet waste. The subway is about a mile away. Plenty of buses within walking distance Including express buses to Midtown and downtown Manhattan.
