Me and my boyfriend went last night for dinner for the first time. I already can't wait to go back. The dirty martini I had was wonderful ! The appetizers were great and not pricey. My boyfriend ordered the chicken Alfredo but I couldn't keep my fork off his plate, it was the best I've ever had I think. I had the pork chop with blue cheese which was also tasty. You could tell by the amount of people waiting in their cars that this is a good spot. After a short wait we received a call that we could be seated. Our waiter(Jimmy) was very friendly and timed our courses perfectly. Huge menu variety and portions are generous. Price is very affordable and the food was top quality. I was also there for lunch on Monday and was equally impressed. Pine Tavern is now on my list of favorite stops. read more

Let me start off by saying i'm very sorry to the guy with the mushroom issue - it really does suck when you have a bad situation which turns into a shitty experience (literally lol) - Fortunately for us, we had two very good experiences at Pine Tavern - first time we went was with another couple (our cousins while we were both pregnant - yikes! hehe) and the other time was for a christening luncheon. Both times were good - no complaints actually at all - salads, bread and meals were all tasty (the shrimp scampi especially) - the luncheon went very smoothly and all of the courses came out with good timing and were all delicious. Wines were good too. This place is a bit out of our way considering we're about 30mins+ from it so honestly, we wouldn't find ourselves going back unless it was to meet family again. PS. I definitely had a better experience than the previous review for this place. It has been over a year and a half since the last Yelp review. Time to put an end to that drought. This was my first time here. I'm sure I had passed it many many times when I lived in New Jersey, but never ate here previous to tonight. Always like to try new things and my dad, aunt and uncle suggested we go here. They've all been and raved about the Prime Rib deal on Sunday nights. Prime Rib? I can't turn down that offer. The food here just keeps coming. We started up with a clam appetizer off the Sunday special menu and the Ginger Scallion Pork off the regular menu. Before I forget, the Sunday deal is all food items 15% off. They have deals everyday of the week. Consult their website for the others. The hit here was the Pork. Big chunks of pork sauteed in ginger, scallions and caramelized hoisen sauce. How can you go wrong? The pork was nice and tender and the flavors just played off each other perfectly. For my main dish I ordered the 10 oz Prime Rib which came with a choice of salad, (I chose Caesar) choice of potato (sweet mashed) and veggie (sauteed spinach). I asked for the meat to be medium and when it came out it was. The sweet mashed had a hint of cinnamon, which it should and the spinach was fresh. I must have a tapeworm or something because after I polished that off, I had some of my aunts salmon. It seems like this place has been here for a long time. They have a bunch of good reviews plastered on the walls from some of the local newspapers around the area and the place was packed on a Sunday night. The service was friendly and the owner or restaurant manager walks around the place often to see how everyone is doing. It does seem like you get a lot of bang for your buck here which is never a bad thing. Worth a trip if you happen to be in the area. read more

We were just in the area to help my niece move out and we're exhausted and was just looking for something simple to eat, but we're so glad that we happened on this place, the parking was crowded but were able to be seated immediately for two ppl. grilled octopus (so tender) drinks and parrilladas ribs were amazing even a simple garden salad we asked to be made was so fresh we still had room for desserts. I wish this place existed where I live and we have some amazing restaurants in portland, Maine. Please give it a try. Had dinner here last night for my boyfriend's mother's 75th birthday. The food was delicious!!! We ordered appetizers and entrees. Our waiter PJ was fantastic and very attentive. I've been going to the Pine Tavern for about a year and cannot get enough of their pork chop. Such a delicious simple dish, served piping hot with lovely mashed potatoes. Just a great meal on any night of the week. I cannot say enough about the wait staff, they are courteous and friendly and very attentive. I am only giving four stars simply because it is just horribly loud in the restaurant. If they could only do something with the acoustics, I would enjoy it so much more! read more

Came to Pine Tavern for one of their weekday specials: Monday Steak night. All the steaks start at $10.95. I ordered a skirt steak, medium. It came out perfectly cooked with 2 sides. The portion of steak is massive for the price. I couldn't even finish it all. The only thing that was a little disappointing was our appetizer. We ordered chips and guacamole (they make it table side, so so good) but then our server informed us they were out of avocados. Seems like a weird thing to be out of. We ended up having to order honey bbq wings which were just ok. I'd imagine their other week night specials are just as good - definitely recommend! read more

My daughter and I love the Pine Tavern. It is our go to place! Food is consistently very good. The menu has a lot of variety which I have Indulged. They do have a specialty nights with extremely reasonable prices. I love the grilled octopus, skirt steak any of the chicken dishes but most of all the cream pesto sauce! Relatively easy apps, fried, sauce, serve. Shrimp temp was hot and crispy, calamari was room temp and chewy. The drinks were on point. The bartender there was extremely talented, attentive, and friendly. She was a 1 woman show. The young blonde who claims only had 3 yrs experience was slinging drinks, bar backing, filling soda and water orders for tables. Unbelievable, i would have guessed a 10yr veteran. But A newly renovated restaurant and no soda station for waiters at a service area? Jon Taffer would have been pissed. Entrees going out to tables looked & smelled pretty delicious. This place never disappoints. Service was wonderful. Sara was a new waitress but super sweet and super on top of everything. Definitely an asset to Pine Tavern. Food as usual outstanding got the ribs for two, can never remember what they are called but they come in a cast iron pan to the table over a flame with onions and sweet homemade barbecue honey sauce. So delish and portion was huge. Took half home. Boom boom shrimp app, zesty sauce and hearty shrimp. Calamari were crisp, fresh and tender. Not a one chewy. Dessert, again, forgot the name. But it had a chocolate moose dollop on the side, chocolate cake with whit chocolate chips and white chocolate moose. Mouth watering. Can go wrong with this place. read more

Went here a few years back and enjoyed it very much. Booked Easter dinner here and it was just "ok". Apps were small and the entrees were good , not great. Desserts was very good. Server was very helpful and nice , just never refilled drinks. Most of us were drinking water or soda and no one brought us refills till our ice was melted. The food was great once we finally got it. It all starts with us being put on the wait list. We go over to the bar and get a drink while we wait. About 10 minutes later my friend gets a text that our table is ready. We go and get seated and few minutes later than table next to us was seated. As we are waiting we notice the table next to has their appetizers. We think that's strange since no one has even come over to us ye. Then, they get their meals. Finally someone in our party went over to inquire. The women up front seemed confused and at first said it must have been because our table was still dirty, but once we explained we were sitting at the table so asked where were we sitting. My friend showed her and then her reason was tht we got drinks from the bar so they assumed we already had a waiter. Don't they think people sitting at a table would want to eat? Anyway, we sat and waited for 30 mins just to have our order taken. read more

Came for Thanksgiving dinner mainly because it was close to my father's house. Extremely happy that convenience resulted in such great food. This was first buffet I've ever been to that served Strip steak as the beef option and it was delicious! Turkey was very good as well. The only item I wasn't blown away by was the stuffing. It was ok but I think it was just not what I was expecting. George, our waiter was fantastic. Would've given 5 stars but it was first time there so I'll wait until 2nd visit to see if they are consistently good. I hope the steak is on the regular menu...and as good as it was today! read more

Really disappointed. Seated with No set ups. No bread and butter for the table. Then the caesar salad came..again still no utensils..we had to ask for napkins and silverware. We asked for lemon for our water and the waitress came back with sliced lemon on a small napkin and handed to us?? Not even on a little plate or bowl. So unsanitary. In addition having the waitress stand over you for checkout and handing you a machine to watch you put in her tip as well as touching a machine everyone else has touched (in this time of COVID) was very uncomfortable. Almost akin to a fast food establishment If you want to charge premium prices at least offer the same rate of service. The Pine Tavern fell extremely short of our expectations. read more

We've been dining at The Pine Tavern since we moved to the area about 3 years ago and can honestly say we've always had great food and service. We randomly stopped by last night for a late dinner and everything was perfect. Our Server Nico had a great personality and took very good care of us. Grilled Octopus was the absolute best and my husband's steak was cooked perfectly. This is our go to restaurant whenever we take friends out or just for a nice date night. Good reviews on the food by others at my table, but appalled by a "convenience charge" on a $90 bill. Seriously? Merchant fees are part of being in business and should be factored into your expenses. Not to mention 3% is more than all but one credit card co. generally charges in fees, so not only are you penalizing people for dining and paying by credit card, but in many cases, you're profiting. I'd never penalize your servers for such a ridiculous practice, but I'll not be returning. read more

Came here with my mom for dinner and we ordered the combo Parradilla for two. So much food, we couldn't finish it. It comes with three delicious dipping sauces. The name Pine Tavern is deceiving, as you wouldn't expect then to specialize in this Spanish dish. I'm told the steaks are phenomenal, and most steak options come with some other seafood. I would have ordered the grilled shell steak Ajo, which comes with shrimp and a side, but the sizzling parradilla was too enticing. Wonderful dinner with friends at this local eatery. Our waiter John was especially attentive, friendly and accommodating of my "Off the menu" request. In our party of four, both of our orders of Filet Mignon were very nicely prepared. One of our guests requested the filet be "Well done" and we were all surprised that it was still tender and tasteful. The strip steak and the Shrimp scampi were excellent.
