Been here once years ago bc it's close to the Largo Botanical Garden. It seems like it would be a touristy type place if it was in a location such as that. It gives off old school Florida vibes to me. I checked out their pie and really hoped for different tropical flavors but not really much of that. They did have Key Lime Pie and they kept advertising their Banana Cream Pie(this one was not available as slices. I already knew I wanted coconut cream pie. I didn't love this. It was a small slice with not much coconut flavor for a higher price. I feel like I can definitely make this pie which I have not done so. My husband had the chocolate cream pie. Delicious! My Husband spied this spot from the road and pulled in immediately. We were on the hubt for a coffee but what is better than pie and coffee? I almost always get strawberry rhubarb or coconut cream pie. They had both but I opted for their coconot cream nerongue pie and my Husband got a DECADENT slice of Cookie Butter Banana. Prices here are very fair by the slice and they obviously sell by the pie also. Clean dining area with a spacious patio space also. Very retro tabletops make me a bit nostalgic for my childhood beach trips. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area and need a sweet treat and want to skip a trendy spot. read more

Yes, please. If I wouldn't gain weight eating their pie, I would be here everyday. If you want a small town, mom and pops feel, but having a great selection that not only tastes good, but comes with great service, this is your place. The Pie Factory workers are always so polite and attentive to your wants. Not only is their services great, but they are so personable and can talk to you about anything. If you want to have a better day, stop and get a slice of pie and have a chat with one of them, I bet it would make their day too. We have ordered various pies on different occasions for holidays or parties or just a special treat. The Pie factory never disappoints. When you arrive, there is always plenty of parking and they have great hours to accommodate with working schedules. Walking in you are thrown into a tropical oasis or a replica of the Keys, you choose lol. As you walk to the counter you are cascaded with various options of not only pies, but sweets of every size and flavor! I can't help but wanting to try everything knowing how good things are. My personal favorite has been the peanut butter pie, but the coconut meringue and regular cheese cake have come in a close second! I've been a customer here since 1998 when we moved to Largo. Bought a key lime for Easter and was VERY disappointed. It was dry and nothing like the quality when Marv and Bobbie were running the show. Seems like the crusts were pre made and the filling was dry. read more

I've driven by here so many times and finally stopped in. I bought 3 flavors of pie. Key lime, banana cream and fruit of the forest. The key lime was very good. The banana cream had a slight banana taste but I did not see a banana slice at all, it was mostly whipped cream. The whipped cream was good though. The fruit of the forest is a mixture of rhubarb and berries. I got it because it seemed interesting, it wasn't for me. I can't say it was bad just not my taste. However I was disappointed in the crust, it was thick and not flaky at all. The service was prompt and helpful. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place. I had a best friend years ago and her and I would literally make it a thing to come here and grab a slice of quiche Loraine because we absolutely loved it! So that was about 16 years ago. So it's been 16 years since I've been back to this place. After a plant run with my mom I asked her if she had ever been here before and she said she has never been here before so we decided to check it out. My mom said she felt like she stepped into a 1960's pie / coffee shop which I totally understood those vibes. The one lady which was not the owner was super sweet and kind. So very helpful and kept the coffee coming. The owner was there and honestly she didn't seem friendly, we didn't deal with her at all, she didn't smile, was not welcoming and although it's a long time in business I would think she would understand customers service. I must say the Kamala Harris rally's that she had on the tvs was a major turn off for business. I'm not just saying that because I'm a Trump fan. I believe that needs to stay out of your place of business....if you want to put signs that's your choice and freedom but I do not think it should be on repeat on your place of business TVs. We tried to visit the Pie Factory today after reading about them online. We were greeted by a "It is 15 minutes after closing. I mean come on people." This location closes early this week & the lady said to read the sign posted on the door. I apologized & said we didn't know, we were just visiting from Texas & looked them up online. Great place to grab a pie and they even have a drive through. The famous key lime pie here is delicious with a super creamy lime-y frosting and a perfect crust. The place advertises a "coffee bar," but they simply have iced and brewed coffee (although not a cold brew). Their espresso machine might be down or not functioning, so I wouldn't necessarily count on this place for a fancy cup of Joe. The pie is great though and they have a ton of pie slices available in single slices and many in whole pies as well. 3 slices of pie + a whole pie and a cup of coffee came to about $30 which was reasonable for a house made pie operation. The Shepard pie was Individually wrapped and boxed in a cooler to keep warm til I could get to my destination. Someone helped me to my car with the cooler. This wasn't a coffee and pie shop like we expected. Coffee was served from a pump thermos (weak coffee). They have quite a variety of desserts, to be sure, but I'm not sure how many are actually made from scratch at this location. We ordered a couple of refrigerated fruit pie slices and requested them warmed but they were served basically room temperature. I'm not sure I quite understand the appeal exactly (unless maybe you don't bake or need a fast dessert to serve), but the clerk/cashier was pleasant and the interior was clean, so we appreciated that. Ordered a special birthday cake. Checking the cake before leaving, I noticed they didn't write "Happy Birthday" on the cake. To remedy the situation, they slapped a plastic "happy birthday" cheap sign rather than write in icing. Thats right - a "custom" cake, but instead of piping out the message on the cake, just put a cheap sign on it. Also, the cake was dry. I was so embarrassed as most of the guests are in the hospitality industry. If you have a special occasion, skip this one and go to Publix. They at least write on the cakes. read more

Stopped here on the way home from Indian Rocks Beach. We have never been to The Pie Factory. We attempted to stop once with some friends and they were closed for the week. On today's first time visit I was welcomed and offered a sample of their famous key lime pie. I decided that this would be the slice I would order. It was $4 and I didn't find it to be a large piece of pie. It was good and tasted fresh. We also ordered s coffee to go with. I wasn't blown away by their pie, but it was good. I've bought and made several key lime pies, and The Pie Factor Key Lime is excellent. Nice graham cracker crust with a bit of whipped cream border. Recipe us from Key West according to Bobby, one of the bakers. Will update this review after I have some Boston Cream pie, which I also bought, although they do freeze the BC after making.
