Started with fresh guacamole and warm tortilla chips, then dove into the Wrightwood salad--rotisserie chicken, goat cheese, cornbread croutons, and citrus vinaigrette bringing it all together. Service was a bit slow, but the food was mostly good. I'm not the biggest fan of some food items with southern flair, but I didn't expect so much of it to have southern twist. Don't get all the great reviews it is below average. I don't like beer so can't talk about that. I liked the buffalo shrimp. Lobster deviled eggs are OK potato croquettes average and not very warm. Crab cakes as the main dish overpriced and smelling weird not in a fresh way. I live in So Cal used to fresh seafood and this was not. Greasy and BIG cakes. Our favorite item was the Carrot Cake. The Short Rib Rigatoni was good flavor and texture, but it was just really heavy. The Salmon was a weird cut and the charred Broccoli was already cold & hard to cut - wishing it had been served with a steak knife. The Perch has become one of my favorite places to celebrate, unwind, and enjoy. I always try to sit at the bar or in the bar area because if Taylor is working you are absolutely in for amazing conversation, incredible recommendations, and service on par with a Michelin restaurant. Their warm smile and joie de vivre really makes you feel at home. Every app and entree I've ever tried has been satisfying and delicious. Don't sleep on the daily soups or the Wrightwood salad. I absolutely love the Squeaky Alien and the house made syrups that change by season for that homemade seltzer. We always get a grilled vegetable platter to split and always have a great leftovers meal the next day. This is a top tier neighborhood spot. It was the restaurant my entire family was looking forward to the most and while we planned to go twice, a late of binge watching TV led to oversleeping, so we will have to dream about (and try!) their brunch on our next trip out! It was simple, but super flavorful! My son ate their French dip, which he also enjoyed. Husband had their sliders (dish repeat) and cleared his plate rather quickly! Croquettes were also just as tasty as we all remembered and new shared plates of fried cheese curds (OMG, soooo good!), Mac and cheese, grilled artichokes, and deviled eggs were also on point! Aaaaaand we had all 3 desserts (went with friends, party of 7 in total!) and devoured them all really fast! The Oreo ice cream cookie and carrot cake were standouts, but peanut butter pie was also delicious! Service was also as we remembered - super friendly staff, quick execution of their dishes and yummy cocktails that went down very nicely! Cons- they didn't have the warm Brussel sprout salad, which we were also excited to have again, so that was a huge bummer.... I hear it's coming back soon, so if you see it on the menu, order it!! The Perch isn't an obvious choice for those out of town, but it should be. 1 year since I've been here?! Time for an update! I came here yesterday with a group of 6 girls. We made reservations around a day or 2 in advance and they had pretty good availability on such short notice. This restaurant is super spacious, open, and aesthetically pleasing. We were sat quickly in a booth towards the back that accommodated more people. I can't remember our server's name for the life of me, but he was an older gentleman and such a kind & attentive server! He was patient with our bigger group and answered any questions we had. The hosts were also very approachable and nice. The food and drinks here are just such a hit. The spinach artichoke dip is something we always order here and definitely recommend. Amongst the table we got guacamole, rigatoni pasta, asparagus, buffalo cauliflower, mac and cheese, turkey burger, and chicken dip sandwich. Everyone loved their meals so much. Got brunch here on a Saturday and ate outside. Lots of tables with umbrellas which I appreciated. The inside has a nice open atmosphere as well. Our table split the cinnamon roll as an appetizer. It comes with 5 smaller rolls, good for a group! It was tasty and a good app to split. For lunch I got biscuits and gravy which was two large biscuits with plenty of gravy. The drink purple rain here is a hit! So are the lobster deviled eggs and the calypso shrimp. The rotisserie chicken needs more flavor, it was bland. Whomever created that signature in house seasoning need to go back to the drawing board or go sit in their grandma or auntie kitchen to get some lessons in seasoning because that ain't it. We love the Perch and go regularly. The food and drinks are great with a regularly rotating menu. The service is excellent and they are SO GOOD with kids. It's a great place to go with the family and not feel like you're at place only for families. Also, while all of staff from top to bottom are amazing, Jim is the absolute best. Then we ordered a cornbread which came with maple butter and we shared that it's a large portion suitable for three or four people it was just my wife and I so we left half of it there Then we each ordered a. So I've been to the perch for dinner but never for brunch. I wanted to see what they were hitting for as those are two totally different vibes. I came here with my family for a pre Mother's Day celebration hoping to wow them. Of course, from the photos, we ordered a ton of food. The cornbread was good but I wanted it to be a little more moist to perfectly pair with the crunch of the outside. The blueberries was a perfect touch and the homemade honey whipped butter literally were fireworks! The shrimp was pretty good. The spicy fresh cut mango salsa was amazing on its on. They perfectly cleaned and grilled the shrimp. I love a good charred flavor. This dish made for a great side, appetizer or snack. I personally ordered the feta omelette. The homemade pesto sauce was top tier. This was perfectly made and it wasn't over powering in the dish. The cheese hash brown is a win and deserves an award. The other dishes were great as well and one thing I want to point out is the entrees are large. You won't leave hungry and your tastebuds won't leave dissatisfied. We probably would've left if it actually took that long. Luckily it took less time, but still a weird situation. I liked the vibe of the patio though! There are fun decorations, and there were many dogs hanging out. The service was great. The brunch items are made to order, so the food came out fast. As for the meal itself, it was mediocre at best. The Wicker Park omelet was kind of dry and lacking flavor. I had bites of cinnamon roll, pancakes, and cornbread from my friends who ordered them, which were pretty good.
