This place was awesome. We sat on the outdoor patio which is very cheaply decorated with greenery. They have a wide selection of beer and you can order taster size beers so you can try a variety. We tried the sour beer and the cherry beer and they were both great. For appetizers we ordered the cornbread skillet and the croquettes both of which were a savory and delicious. For dinner we shared the baby back ribs which were fall off the bone and cooked with Smoque BBQ sauce. The ribs were fantastic. We will definitely be back again as this place was great. The service was also great. read more

The Perch - Corn Skillet Cornbread - Breweries Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Excellent service, good food, dope ambiance; I really enjoyed my lunch at the Perch today. Our server was great, she was quick and friendly and everything I ever need in a server. We tried the lobster deviled eggs, croquettes, spinach dip (which was my favorite at Crosby's Kitchen so i had to get it here obv), cornbread skillet, and the prime rib hash. All the food was as good as I expected it to be. I will say that the deviled eggs were tasty, but very teeny tiny, I could've eaten 2 more orders of those lol. We also got Aperol spritzes, which were a delight. The only thing I had an issue with today was the temperature inside. We specifically chose inside over sitting outside due it being a warm day, but it was def hotter inside than it was outside today. Please turn up the ac, that is my only request! Parking over here is difficult, as it is for any restaurant on this busy street. I will def be back! read more

The staff were so friendly and fun, we sincerely wish we could have hung out here all night. We really liked the seasonal options of the food and drink, and everything we had was delicious. We recommend "The Ember" (a hickory smoked version of a classic Manhattan) and the Basil Blursday, which was very refreshing. While all of our food was amazing (including, surprisingly, the best sauerkraut I've ever had), what stood out most was the Char-SPOOK-erie board. Our servers convinced us to get it, and it absolutely did not disappoint- check out the attached photo! It made our night and embodies the fun SPIRIT (pun intended) of the establishment. read more

The perch is a great place for a casual lunch. The food is pretty good & the servers are nice!

The Perch is one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood! As a dog owner, I love that they have a dog menu and care so much about furry friends. I also love the atmosphere of the Perch as a whole! Some of my favorite highlights from their menu include Lobster Deviled Eggs, Seared Tuna Salad, Wrightwood Salad, and anything Rotisserie! read more

Out door patio was so nice! Food was good and our waitress was friendly. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Friendly service and accommodating. Great patio. Stand out items.... ahi tuna salad (large portion and tuna cooked perfectly), crab avocado toast with pickles peppers ( wanted 20 more), breakfast sausages, Oreo ice cream sandwich and peanut butter pie. Mahi was over cooked, dry and barely edible (ordered medium rare). Lobster deviled eggs were good but uneventful. Will be back and excited to try other items. read more

Loved it here! The ambiance is so beautiful and the food is even better. The sliders, cheese curds, and lobster deviled eggs were equally delicious. Can't wait to come back and try some more items on the menu. read more

This is the most gorgeous and tasty spot!!! This is definitely the place to show off your "I'm living in Chicago come see how casually incredible Chicago is" spot. The inside decor was forest green, tan leather, and wicker lighting with very open floor plan We tried the croquettes which were delicious, and the salad was HUGEEE and so incredible. I got the wrightwood salad. I can chow down and I couldn't even finish the salad. It was sooo yummy with cornbread croutons and fresh rotisserie chicken. I would definitely come back to try their drinks - their espresso martinis were very popular read more

The Mahi sandwich with fries is aces. Christine is a phenomenal server. And the patio ambiance is magic. Great lunch!

The lobster deviled eggs, cavatelli, service and the atmosphere were great - will go again!

Wow this is place is so underrated. The food and and drinks were so good and the price was great. We had the cheese curds, french dip sandwich, and jambalaya and loved them all so much. The cornbread is phenomenal highly recommend!! Beer is also brewed in house and was great and only $8 for a glass. read more

I came to the Perch on Sunday for brunch and had a great experience. The atmosphere is very fun and the service staff was friendly and accommodating. There were ups and downs with the food, but mainly good things. Starting with the blueberry skillet cornbread. This is an absolute must try. It was flavorful and delicious, and perfect for splitting with another person. The two entrees that I tried were the prime rib hash and the chicken dip. The prime rib hash tasted more like a chili with eggs, which I enjoyed for the most part, except for the occasional very chewy piece of rib. The chicken dip was huge and on great bread. However, I wish it was seasoned more- the main flavors were mayo and unseasoned chicken. The au jus dipping sauce for the chicken dip was a good addition though. I ended the meal with the Oreo ice cream sandwich. What a winning dessert. I would come here just to order that! My brunch date also ordered the Tacocat beer which was quite tasty! What to avoid: the French fries. Seriously. They come out hard as rocks. I watched another table send them back so it wasn't just mine either. read more

I ate lunch here and it was a very pleasant experience. I had a salad with rotisserie chicken, highly recommended. My dining partner had a mahi mahi sandwich, which she loved. We did not drink, but they had a nice beer selection. Eating outside was fun. Fairly happening stretch of Division. The inside decor was pretty and inviting. Staff were welcoming and great overall. I definitely plan to return. read more

Good food, good service, nice vibe. Always try to stop in when in the area. Parking can be challenging.

Had a wonderful date night here. Extensive beer list to choose from, plus housemade seltzer for non-beer drinkers (hibiscus grapefruit was wonderful). The skillet jalapeno cornbread with sweet butter was magnificent. Lobster deviled eggs are a must have. I will say the roasted vegetable plate entree was unnecessarily the most expensive item on our bill... but overall everything was more than satisfactory from the beautiful modern indoor aesthetic (even the bathrooms!) to the tasty food, to the service (our waiter Shannon was a gem)- we will definitely be back. read more

Would definitely come back again! Had a bit of trouble finding parking around here so would not recommend driving here (use public transpo, Uber, etc. instead!). But the experience my family and I had here was more than worth it! Food came out incredibly fast. Appetizers were on our table around 5 minutes after ordering them. Staff was so incredibly nice and did everything to make us comfortable. Also, have to recommend the spinach artichoke dip. Had to sit outdoors as we had our dogs, but great that they were dog friendly and even had a dog menu! The ambiance indoors is so nice and it looks beautiful so will come back to try that next time! read more

We came back to the Perch as it's so close and they have an outdoor patio! First of all, they are very responsible about social distancing. They have heat lamps near every table. And their patio has a roof! It's not a bubble or a tent but it's warm enough to weather the cold and enjoy a drink or bite. I was really excited that they were serving flights now as they didn't have them on my first visit. And they added a dog menu! Great options for pups, I went with the treats as I had already fed my dog her dinner. Great ambience and great service, thanks Jim! read more

Food all came out in 2 minutes-- deviled eggs w/ crab felt like it was from 7 eleven. Only thing edible was the slider which was ok

I love the perch, however it's a hit or miss with takeout. The NY Strip Steak salad is delicious. The first two times I ordered it delivery it was cooked adequately (medium rare per my specification). Today I ordered the same salad medium rare and the steak was well done. As someone who really only enjoys medium rare - not even medium - it just did not taste good. The delivery was extremely fast which was great but the salad was sub par. read more

Great place to hang. Good selection. Appetizer and beer menu was great. Main course is alright; nothing super memorable but that's alright

In Chicago for the weekend just realized it was restaurant week. It was kinda hard to just go in to places without a reservation. We were lucky be able to seat it in The Perch with no reservation for brunch that day. The tacos were decent, but the hash browns on the side were delicious. Also my first time trying beermosa, it was kinda interesting. Never really a beer person, but the mix was okay. The restaurant week deal was awesome tho. Would go back again if I'm in town again. read more

Came for 2022 restaurant week and ordered off the brunch menu. Everything was delicious! My party collectively ordered the Lobster Deviled Eggs, Croquettes, and the Cinnamon Roll for apps. The Cinnamon Roll had a cream cheese frosting which made it not overly sweet and was very good. The Croquettes were super crisp on the outside, and the lobster deviled eggs had a mustard filling, which did overpower the lobster just a bit but everything was still delicious. Our mains were the neon ricotta pancakes, the Blackbird Benny (which I believe was a special for the menu) and the fried egg sandwich. Everything was delicious and also the hash browns on the side were kind of cheesy and so good. Had the beer-moasas as well which were stellar. Service also great. Overall amazing experience. read more

Alright alright alright - thanks to Covid, I've only had takeout from here. But damn if this isn't the best food around. The menu isn't extensive, and with my voracious appetite, I've pretty much sampled 90% of what's on offer. And it's all tremendous. My favorite is hands down the Mahi sandwich. It's loaded with pickles and so nicely seasoned with a Cajun salt. But honestly, everything is delicious here - upscale yet approachable bar food at its finest. And the price point is absolutely warranted because the quality is outstanding - I don't get fish just anywhere, and their fish is A+. Can't wait to finally eat there IRL. For now, takeout will do. read more

Excellent food, friendly atmosphere, and all-around enjoyable place to eat, outside or indoors.

Amazing food and amazing manager Evelyn, and Jim has taken great care of us on our many visits!

I went here with a friend for my birthday. We had the croquettes, the deviled eggs, and the mahi-mahi sandwich. Everything was really tasty, but not so much that I'd be running back! We sat out in the bier garden which was beautifully decorated and made you feel like you'd teleported to a new land. Overall this place is cute when you're looking for unique food and a nice ambiance. read more

I really enjoyed my dining experience at perch. Great ambience: lively but not too loud, perfect place to catch up with friends or have dinner with family members. Service was very prompt and I enjoyed our waiter who was well versed in the drink menu. The menu has something for everyone. I especially appreciate how there were multiple vegetable options so it's my next pick for when I go out with my vegetarian friends! We got the cornbread which was amazing. Artichokes were nothing special. I got the wrightwood salad which was also amazing- it was a hefty salad which I LOVE with a light dressing. I tried my partners fish sandwich which was also exceptional. read more

Stopped into this place today for the first time and sat at the bar. Chloe and Neal were the bartenders, both were great, very friendly, very knowledgeable. The French dip was ok, fries were obviously the last in the batch so not great. But I'll be back for the service for sure! read more

I came here this past weekend with a few friends. I really enjoy the space and vibe. We sat in the Beer Garden, which I would definitely recommend checking out. We were a party of 5, so we had the pleasure of being able to try a bunch of things. We got the cornbread, artichoke, and spinach dip to start. The cornbread was a little drier than I like, the artichoke was delicious, and came with a great dipping sauce, and the spinach dip was exactly what I expected (good creamy spinach dip). For dinner, I got to try some of the prime rib and the rotisserie chicken. The prime rib was ordered with mashed potatoes, and the chicken with cauliflower. The prime rib was solid. I really liked the horseradish sauce that came with it, and mashed potatoes were a nice accompaniment. The chicken was decent, not my favorite rotisserie chicken but it was good. The cauliflower was just ok, in my opinion. Members of our group got the Wrightwood salad, and it looked really good. I'll probably try that next time I'm here. read more
