She explained the whole process to our family and never made us feel rushed. She did everything on our schedule, which made the process of saying goodbye the best case scenario. Dr. Michelle then transported our pup to a crematory in Sacramento. His ashes were then shipped back to us in a beautiful urn. Although this process is very difficult for any family, Lap of Love made it extremely easy for our family. This is the review I have been holding off for a while…read more Today marks 6 months since we used this service. This has been the most difficult and saddest decision we've had to make. When I contacted Restful Paws, I didn't know what to expect. In fact, I felt bad crying on the phone because I couldn't imagine trying to talk to someone like me at that moment. But the staff couldn't be more understanding and supportive. Unlike making end of life decisions for your fur baby, the process of scheduling this appointment was very easy. Restful Paws asked all the right questions, set the expectations, and made this process that much easier. And on the day of, Dr. Ami arrived promptly at the scheduled time. She was very caring and understanding, and she put all of us at ease. We could not have asked for a better last day for our Sodapop. I'm thankful that we reached out to restful pause, and grateful that they were able to come to our house to help us get through this phase. Weeks later, we received a card from Dr. Ami sending us her condolences. Thank you, Restful Paws, for doing the service that you do. From calling to make an appointment, receiving reminder emails, and day of texts from our vet, each step was handled with so much compassion. We were able to find a weekend availability which was best scenario so everyone could attend. Dr. Vine was very punctual the day of and gave us a thorough breakdown of what to expect (pain reliever, anesthesia, and euthanasia). We didn't feel rushed at any point, and we were given ample time before proceeding to each stage. She was very respectful and the process was smooth. After the euthanasia, we were able to choose where we wanted the fur clippings. The paw print was perfectly imprinted with Christy's name, which added such a sweet personal touch. We chose to pickup Christy's ashes at Sage, and it was quick. The only thing is it felt very jarring going to an animal hospital filled with so many people and dogs. Considering this was only 2 weeks after the euthanasia, I was still grieving and it was difficult being in that environment so soon. The only feedback I'd give is it'd be more mindful if there was a separate pickup location away from everyone else for more privacy. Dr. Vine sent a sympathy card as well and it was very sweet. Thank you so much for giving Christy such a respectful experience and having her pass comfortably and peacefully. I will definitely recommend this organization to loved ones! Having to say goodbye to our sweet Mini Australian Shepherd, Magic, was one of the hardest days of our lives. From the moment Dr. Sam arrived, she treated both us and Magic with extraordinary compassion, patience, and respect. She explained every step of the process, answered our questions without ever making us feel rushed, and gave us all the time we needed. Her calm, gentle presence turned what could have been an overwhelmingly stressful experience into one filled with peace and dignity. After Magic passed, Dr. Sam lovingly wrapped him in a blanket embroidered with the words "Love and Dignity." Those weren't just words - they reflected exactly how she cared for him. We chose private cremation, and when it was time for Dr. Sam to take Magic with her, my husband carried him to her vehicle. I expected it to be a simple transfer into the back of a car. Instead, the rear of her vehicle had been thoughtfully prepared. It was beautifully arranged with flowers, and Magic was gently laid in the center with the same care and reverence that had been shown throughout the entire visit. It reminded me of a hearse - not because it was sad, but because it conveyed something so important: this wasn't just the body of "another dog." This was a cherished member of our family who mattered, and he was treated that way until the very end. That moment will stay with me forever. I filled out the form on Friday night and booked an appointment for Sunday evening. They sent a follow-up email stating that they would call to confirm the appointment, and that if they weren't able to reach me to confirm details, they would need to cancel/reschedule the appointment. I replied back that I had to work on Saturday morning, and if it'd be possible to call not during those hours (so I could try to remain a non-functional mess at work), I'd really appreciate it. They actually called me that same night at 11pm and were so patient with me through my mess of tears. On the day of, Dr. Parsley called about an hour prior to give me an ETA and appeared right on time. She offered comfort, explained the process on what to expect, allowed time for questions, and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. She took a clay impression of Muffin's mixed toebeans + a clipping of her fluffs for me to keep, and also gave us some more time while she went out to get Muffin's basket ready + I was able to carry her to her car to "see her off." It was the most peaceful transition I could have asked for, and I was able to hold Muffin in my arms throughout the process. The email she sent me the day afterward offered support + also showed she really listened/cared, and I received a card in the mail from her as well. I'd chosen to have Muffin cremated so per my request, Lap of Love sent her back to my vet so I could pick her up from there. My world is feeling a lot emptier, but this is the best I could've hoped for given the circumstances. Thank you for being there and for everything you do.

I told them my dog had been abused and I did not want a male vet. I made an appointment with the vet I wanted. I spoke to the pet cemetery and they told me they showed an order for the date and told me the name of the vet, which was a man!?! They changed my appointment without telling me. I asked about other vets and asked if I could speak to the vet. They told me no, I asked if they could speak to the vet, they said no. They made this sad time even worse.

I normally don't write reviews, but seriously do NOT go to this place. I was taking in my new cat…read morefor a spay. Was told $120 out the door plus $50-80 IF she were pregnant. I asked if this was the final out the door price and they said yes. Turns out they charged me $180 for the spay( so totally lied about the amount) and added on and an "in heat" charge that I was never initially told me about. This was an extra $75. Mind you, she was never pregnant so she basically got charged the same amount, on the high end, for NOT being pregnant. Also added a bunch of charges that I was not told about. It ended up being almost $450 which was almost TRIPLE that I was initially quoted for the spay. Despite this, they were supposed to tell me when she was ready for pickup. Said they would call around 3-5 and I never got a call. I ended up calling the multiple times and they never answered so we just showed up, and it took them an extra 30 minutes to retrieve the cat. They also said they couldn't put a cone on her because she tried to scratch them. Is that not what you pay the vet for? If you can't put on a simple cone why are you working at a veterinary office? The girl at the front desk who was working today was extremely rude and abrupt when I expressed concern about the misinformation of the price. Overall, horribly unprofessional office that clearly doesn't care about animals and will completely rip you off. Don't go here.
