I have lived in Sonora for the past 30 years and I have always used Mono Way Vet which was…read moreprivately owned. My Husky was examined and diagnosed as she had torn her ACL back leg. The problem was the traveling vet would not be up in Sonora for several months and a very nice Receptionist recommended Oakdale Veterinary group stating that her friend works there and they do that surgery every single day. This was a 45 minute drive for us but didn't mind at all. I gave them a call. They were so so nice and immediately booked an appointment to examine my dog and it was determined by the vet that she did tear her ACL, surgery was scheduled and I just could not have been happier with the care that I received there. This was when they were in their old building and this was when Covid started so the the doctors and staff would come out to the parking lot and go over everything with you there. He was very, very nice understanding and professional. So my dogs first night in the hospital after surgery one of the vet techs took a picture of her and sent it to me. That was the first time I had ever had a Vet be so personalized with Mya. At her recheck I informed the Dr. that Mya was now limping on the other side leg. I learned that was a very common injury considering she leaned on the other side while her other leg was healing. I was so happy with the care they all gave Mya. Maybe 4-5 months later I saw my dog laying in the front yard early in the morning with foam coming out of her mouth and one front leg pointing up in the air. I immediately called my regular vet here in Sonora, and by this time the veterinary hospital had been sold to a Corporation. When I panic stricken told her I don't know what's happening to my dog and explained what I was witnessing and was afraid she was dying. The receptionist calmly said she had an opening on the following Tuesday. I was in shock and immediately called Oakdale vets since they had dealt with Mya twice before and I was told to immediately bring her right in. And that was the beginning of having the most excellent care for years to come. What was happening to Mya was she was having a seizure the first one she had ever had and I had no idea what was going on, but by the time we got to the vets, she was fine. She was treated with such excellent care for many years, dealing with epilepsy, her seizures her medication, and then Cushing's disease. They truly truly cared about my dog and by this time they were in their brand new facility, which was beautiful. Mya and I had made so many trips down to Oakdale vets the staff all new Mya and this past May when Mya's medicine could no longer help her I had to make the absolute worst decision ever and had to let her go. The front desk staff were so caring. The day I had to let her go the vet tech met us at the front door and took us back to one of the back rooms that had a little candle a box of Kleenex and a jar of Hershey's kisses and a blanket on the vet exam table. My son and I sat on each side next to Mya on the floor until the veterinarian came in and she was so calm and so peaceful and she absolutely gave us as much time as we needed to be with Mya. When she took her last breath. We kissed her and we were able to exit the building through a side door so we didn't have to go through the waiting room. Two days later the office called to tell me Mya's ashes were ready to be picked up. I asked them if it would be OK if I waited for a while, cause I was not able to go in there that soon and they were very very accommodating. My neighbor ended up going down and picking up Mya's remains. I have never in my life heard of all the wonderful things that Turlock family cremations did for my Mya. I'm not gonna say what it was, but if you have to go through that, I highly recommend it because what they sent me back were treasures that means so much. I still have two dogs and a cat so if I ever need of that again, they are my vet and will always be for as long as I live here. I highly highly recommend them. They have been a true blessing for me and my pup. Thank you guys, thank you.! This picture is of Mya's last ride in the jeep with the top down for her last visit to all of the staff of Oakdale Veterinary Clinic. I know she was happy and comfortable. And she will always be with me. Her final goodbye

I've never been to this vet which makes this even more special with how they took care of me and my Reptar . I had scheduled a euthanasia and private cremation for my sweet senior boy who had cancer and wasn't going to make it through but he actually passed away at home with me the day of the appt . I just want to personally thank the kind staff who helped me carry my sweet boy from my car and was saying sorry the whole time :( I felt your sincerity truly and thank you . It takes about 2 weeks to receive the ashes back , I got them back in 11 days , I'm so happy to have him back home :( the staff were so patient answering my calls and questions , they let me see my sweet boy one more time before being sent off to cremation which they don't usually do but I didn't even get to say goodbye to him with how quick everything happened so they let me which I'm eternally grateful for to have that last bit of time with him :( I left pictures to be cremated with him and they set up all his pictures when I walked in to say my goodbyes and omg I criedddd ! So beyond thoughtful !!! Thank you all for your genuine kindness during this hell time for me . I can't tell you how much it was helpful while my was/is heart shattering . Thank you so much !!! Rest in love to my sweet sweet boy Reptar and thank you for 12 years of solid loyalty and love !! Momma will see you on the other side !!!!

Many times we took our dogs in they wanted to do a "test." These tests cost money... a lot of times they would have to send them out for readings or results; of course at an extra cost!! By the time we left the bill would be exorbitantly expensive, like $350-500!!! Our furry baby in the picture below, Misty, was diagnosed with a heart murmur when we took her in for a UTI. They did an X-ray and she had bladder stones. Dr. Singh said she needed surgery and wanted to do it the next day. He did state that bcz of her weak heart the anesthesia would be tricky. He said she had a grade 4 heart murmur. He said they are graded on a scale of 3-10. I looked it up, as I was in the medical field for 30 years and found that canine heart murmurs grade from 1-4. If Misty had a grade 4, she was already in heart failure. Dr. Singh minimized the condition of her heart disease, in our opinion. He did the surgery, it took 2 hours. He put her on heart meds, then later he put her on Lasix (a water pill.) She died about 6 weeks later of congestive heart failure. In our opinion, Dr. Singh should have given us the option to put her on an antibiotic for the UTI, the heart med and the Lasix and wait and see how she did. Instead he immediately wanted to do risky surgery in a dog with a weak heart. We paid $5,000 for this operation. And $400 for a post-op visit! We no longer take our animals to Family Vet of Oakdale. Our new vet is great!! His office visit charge was $50. Family Vet of Oakdale charged $130. Enough said ......

My older dog came out looking adorable as ever so I'm really glad for that because he's a rough outside dog so he was dirty. My puppy however came out looking funny and I'm so unhappy with whatever was done to his head and face. All I can do is laugh. From the moment we arrived, Faith, a team member, met us with so much genuine kindness and compassion. She took such good care of our boy, but she also took care of us. Every time she was on shift, she took the time to explain what was happening, answer our questions, check in on Bear, and genuinely listen to our concerns. You could tell this wasn't just a job to her she truly cared about him and about what we were going through. In some of the hardest moments we've experienced, having someone like Faith there meant more than I can put into words. I also want to give a special thank you to Stephanie, another team member who took time out of her day simply to sit and talk with us. And I absolutely do not want to leave out all of the other incredible team member and doctors who were part of Bear's care. We may not remember every name, but we remember the kindness. Every person who came into his room, checked on him, cared for him, answered another one of our questions, helped keep him comfortable, or simply showed us patience and compassion made a difference. We saw how many people were working behind the scenes for our boy, and none of that went unnoticed. To every doctor who cared for Bear, thank you for being honest with us while still being compassionate.Thank you for treating him with dignity, gentleness, and love. Thank you for answering our questions, being patient with us, and giving us the time and space we needed to make the hardest decision we have ever had to make for our boy. Saying goodbye to Bear was absolutely heartbreaking, but knowing that he was surrounded by people who genuinely cared for him brought us comfort during an unbearable moment. We know he is no longer in pain, and we are so grateful that his final days were spent being cared for with so much compassion. We will forever be grateful for the kindness you showed Bear and our family. He was so deeply loved, and it means everything to us that he was treated that way until the very end. Thank you for taking care of our boy.

Following a minor miscommunication regarding pricing from other staff members, an older employee became confrontational and began calling my husband names being racist to him!!. She even went as far as making inappropriate comments about our family and children. Instead of addressing the situation professionally and taking accountability for the confusion, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable. We entrusted this facility with the care of our pet and expected to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this clinic to others who expect professionalism, respectful communication, and accountability from veterinary staff.
