Niki loves animals and it shows! I've boarded my twelve year old Brittany Spaniel, Daphne, with…read moreNiki's Play n' Stay a few times for ten days each. Daphne had a restful fun time on both occasions. Daphne is getting older and it's wonderful to have a place for my dog, Daphne, to stay when I'm on holiday. I know she's in great hands. Furthermore, Niki is an expert groomer! I adopted an insanely cool Chinchilla Persian cat, Puffcat, from Niki's Play n' Stay just after winter break. Chinchilla Persians are lovely! The breed requires very careful grooming every 4-8 weeks--including bathing, shaving, and drying with a special high velocity cat hairdryer. Therefore, I just had my Chinchilla Persian, Puffcat, over at Niki's for grooming and he came back looking picture perfect. After his grooming, he's sooooo puffy, smells amazing, and he has been expertly shaved & trimmed. Thank you Niki! Highly recommend!!

Her mobile setup is spotless, convenient, and completely stress-free for my kitties. Niki is amazing every single time. She's always on time, communicates clearly before and after each visit, and her pricing is incredibly reasonable for the excellent high quality and convenience she provides. One of my cats is... let's just say strong-willed. Her fur had gotten badly matted, and she wouldn't let anyone near her with a brush. I honestly didn't think she'd cooperate, but Niki worked her magic and somehow turned my spicy little fluff into her normal, gorgeous self. She's patient, gentle, and knows exactly how to handle cats with all different personalities. My girls always come back looking runway ready -- like they're about to strut down the catwalk. If you have cats or dogs and want someone who's talented, trustworthy, and genuinely cares, Niki is the one. A true trustworthy gem!

My dogs have been clients of Top Notch since it opened many years ago. They go above and beyond to…read moretreat each dog with care and kindness. The owner, Lisa, even picked up a prescription for my dog while he was boarding and I was out of the country. With my dog Riley, they take extra care with getting him settled in and adjusted because he developed a bit of separation anxiety after the pandemic. They always have him looking his best after his every six weeks grooming. To make it easier for me (not having to call for an appointment) they've been booking him out every six weeks for the entire year. It is so easy for me to remember, and they do such a great job with him. I cannot say enough how much trust I have in Lisa and her team at Top Notch. If he needs to be boarded, I know he is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Top Notch was once a great kennel. But it has new ownership and it is absolutely horrible…read more About a year ago, it cost $40 to board my dog overnight. The new ownership has jacked up the price by 50%! It now costs $60 rather than $40! Included in that is $10/day just to feed your dog!!! Are you kidding me?!?!? If I board him there four days, I could have bought a bag of the Kirkland brand they use that would last him 6 weeks! When I brought my dog home, he ran straight to his water bowl and drank nearly the entire bowl. Apparently Top Notch no longer provides water to boarders!!! It probably costs another $10/day for that. What next? $10/day for the air he breathes? Last time they overcharged me for my stay. The clerk said she couldn't give me the breakdown of the charge until she ran my card. Then I could log onto their new website to see the breakdown. Sure enough, she overcharged me. Oddly, she didn't know how to credit my card, only charge it. I never did see the credit come through on my statement. They had charged me for the private play for the day I checked out, even though I was checking out first thing in the morning. It seemed clear that they were systematically overcharging people because the charge for private play was automatically generated as soon as the system registered a new day (i.e., at midnight). Most people never knew they were overcharged. I complained both times. However, both times I told them not to have the manager call. It simply wasn't worth it because I have far too much to do to argue with corporate. Nonetheless their corporate manager called and used corporate spin about their changes, and how they were only doing it for my good. Really? Wasting my time only added insult to injury. Top Notch used to know my dog, what he ate, what he likes, etc. Now they don't know anything about him. They used to provide a "report card" after each stay, telling me how he did. Now you have to log on to their website to see an impersonal computer screen of notes. Honestly, I don't want to log onto yet another website. A 50% increase in price for worse service, $10/day if you don't want your pet to starve, an obviously dehydrated pet when you get them back. And all that for 50% more + a $10 overcharge to boot. And if you'd like, you can also get a phone call with corporate spin. I've given Top Notch $1000s over the last 20 years. They won't get even a single $1 more from me. No thank you, Flop Botch.

I left my dog here for what was supposed to be a 5-day stay while I was on vacation, but I ended up…read morehaving to get her picked up early after only 4 days. When my family dropped her off, they were told she could not leave her blanket or toy with her. However, the website clearly states that dogs are allowed to bring a blanket and a toy from home to help them feel comfortable. That is exactly why we brought those items, so this was confusing right from the start. The following day I called to check in and was told she was doing fine--eating, drinking, and adjusting well. I called again and was told the same thing. I asked if they could send me pictures of her, and when I received them I noticed a cut on the bottom of her chest. If I had not asked for photos, I don't believe I would have been notified about the injury at all. My dog has never cut herself before, so naturally as a dog parent you start worrying and thinking the worst. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at home, so it is normally her safe place. When I asked about the cut, they repeatedly told me they checked the kennels to make sure it was safe and suggested it could have been from a handler's collar getting stuck in her hair. However, my dog has very thin hair and the cut is nowhere near where a collar would normally sit, which made that explanation hard to believe. Another major concern was that their website advertises "all day play," yet in every picture they sent she was on a collar and leash. I was also told that they do not allow dogs to play with other dogs due to safety concerns, which directly contradicts what is advertised. Additionally, in the photos my dog looked very sad and withdrawn, when normally she is very happy and loves to play. This made me concerned that she may have been kept in a kennel and on a leash for most of the time she was there. Because of this, I immediately called family to pick up my dog early. The entire situation made me very uncomfortable and I did not feel confident leaving her there for the remainder of the stay. I chose this place because of the positive Google reviews, but after this experience I truly wish I had paid closer attention to the Yelp reviews as well. I will not be leaving my dog here again.

She was there during a hot streak and when I picked her up she was bloated to twice her size and they said she had just begun to act odd 20 minutes before pick up. I rushed her to Standiford Vet and they performed emergency surgery for GDV (stomach bloat). They said this happens when dogs are walked in extreme heat and are then fed food or given water. The dog will gulp water and also air which causes their stomach to inflate. This will affect their organs, mostly the heart. I spent $5k on this emergency surgery and my dog didn't make it. I'm not placing blame nor did I seek for any damages but I would have expected a boarding place to be better educated on how to prevent GDV or at least recognize the signs to call me to come get her to take her to the ER. I am sharing this so that everyone makes their own decision about boarding their dog here.
