So... Leaving your fur baby, it's not easy. At all. I contacted/stopped by at random after visiting another kennel. I was welcomed and shown around, no hesitation. I got to see potential places she'd be and all of the dogs I saw seemed happy to be there. I was asked about my dog, breed and age as well as experience with other dogs and kennels. My initial opinion is that it was very clean and their focus was on the dogs. The dogs were well cared for. I was told I needed to get my dog, Roxanne, a flu shot. Unfortunately my vet didn't have any in stock so I went to petco/vetco...but anyhow after getting that, we had to go for an evaluation. She is a GSD and from my understanding can have issues when their people aren't around (separation anxiety) My doggo hasnt really been around other doggos outside of she had a really old older sister (dog) that passed away in Feb. so her interactions with other dogs and even people were limited to family. Her first evaluation didn't go the greatest, she was scared and afraid of walking around the property and going through doors. I was told she didn't pass but didn't fail. We went back in a couple of days and it went much better. Then it was recommended she come do daycare/play dates for a half day to get her used to procedures and being around new people and other dogs. Finally the week of her stay came. I packed up her food and a couple of comfort items and bedding and off we went. Now look, she's a GSD and though they can be fierce they are also big babies or mine is and a beloved member of the family...so leaving her was nearly like leaving my kids at school first day. I know dogs pick up on vibes so I kept it brief and told her I'd see her soon (then sniffled as I drove down the street) I called on her second day and she had "settled in" and shortly thereafter was saw pics of her on Facebook and insta. The next day more pics she was smiling! Then I found out...she made a friend named Duffy!!!! Aww her first doggo friend! Today I went to pick her up and she was excited to see me but I think she enjoyed it because she was not sure whether she wanted to stay or go. She looks healthy, her bedding was washed and she got a report card with everything detailed. Which is nice, her minimal issues were mostly breed related (shepherd related) I guess she had a little tummy trouble while there but it was handled well. (So we had some left over snacks etc) So pet parents, rest assured...your loved pets are safe here. They take good care of them. I notice most of the staff is more geared towards the dogs, and less towards the humans (not a bad thing) but the dogs are the clients so I think that's perfect! I wouldn't hesitate to leave my Roxanne here again. I may have her come sometimes just so she can play with some doggy friends. (Maybe she'll meet Duffy again!) I wish she liked water, I saw all the water doggos splashing in pics and it looks fun!!! read more

I take my dog, Bella (Beya) to be boarded at CR Ranch. During intake they use their own leash to walk the dog off to the outdoor play yard. My dog doesn't give me a second glance or hesitate to leave with the caretaker - a good sign of her positive experiences at this facility. When I pick her up she is bathed (additional cost) and exhausted from playing and hanging out with other dogs. Any item of ours that we drop off with Bella is tagged and returned. The prices are reasonable for the quality of care our fur baby gets. I love seeing pictures of her and other dogs playing in the outdoor spaces on CR's Instagram page. read more

I really hate posting this because I absolutely love the small group play & the limit on the daily dog capacity. Let me *emphasize*... just because a doggie daycare lets in 200+ does not mean they're well established or take the due diligence with your pets. All the staff have been wonderful, both in-person & through correspondence-- they pay attention to your fur child & provide feedbacks when needed. CR Ranch is basically Disneyland for dogs. We bring Whiskey here whenever we are out if town or if we are away for the day. The day care service is great. They're boarding is the best boarding service in our area. Our dog Whiskey knows where he's going the second we turn on the main road to CR Ranch. They also offer a discount if you bring your own food. We pack each days' dry dog food in zip lock bags for his daily portions. The best part, they offer bath services. We always opt for the deshedding option also. He looks great every time we pick him up from there after a few days of boarding. read more

I am a fairly new dog owner and super nervous about having to board my dog. I want to find a place that will take great care of her! I looked at the website for C&R and it said to stop by during business hours for a tour. I was coming back from the vet with my dog and thought I would stop by. I drove up and got out of the car with my dog leashed. I came into the office and 2 women were sitting at the desk. No smile. No welcome. Just not nice faces looking at me as if I was doing something wrong. I said hello and got nothing back. I said " I have never boarded my dog before". I got the response "Do you have your vaccines with you, because if not, you can't have your dog on the ground". The glasses wearing woman said this not nicely at all. I understand they need to protect dogs but to talk to me in such a rude way was off putting. I said "I do" and went to go get them from my car. As I opened the door, the same woman said "Can you please carry your dog". I got in my car and left. I was so taken aback by the cold reception and rudeness of these employees. A first impression is everything. I need to know my dog will be treated with kindness and I did not get that at all from these 2. Perhaps a nicer employee should work the front desk and these 2 should find another job that doesn't require customer service. read more

Our very active Lab is well cared for at CR Ranch! She loves her play time with the staff & other active pups. The pool is her favorite! After trying other area Doggie Spas we feel this facility is best equipped for our Pup Rylee. They are positive & show great patience with her. Background information: I have two girls; Vicky Bones, a 10 year old Bichon Frise and Isabella, a six year old Maltease. I brought Vicky to CR Ranch on two separate occasions prior to this current stay. The CR Ranch employees are truly sweet, kind, and professional. I worry so much about my girls, and they don't mind me calling their office to check in to see how Vicky and Isa are doing, which is almost every couple of days! I also asked them to text me pictures of them throughout their daily activities - and they'd text me pictures of them. It helps me feel at ease to know they are being taken cared of. They even gave me a tour of their property and the actual room that they'd stay in. I like how the property is huge, which gives my two dogs lots of room to play. On the other hand, when there is rainy or cold weather, they have what they call is their "indoor play arena," in which they could use to run around in as an alternative when there is bad weather. CR Ranch also provides various discounts which helped a lot since I'm in such a tight budget. The types of discounts they offered are around 5% - 10% off of each of the following: when you bring your own dog food, military, senior, city county employee, two dogs from the same household in the same room, and more! They also provide cute "report cards" after you pick-up your pet to see how they did when they were away. I thought that added a nice in the end. I will and have continued using them! We love that our Jax (a golden doodle) LOVES pulling into CR Ranch's driveway and can't wait to get out and join his friends!!! He happily trots away with a backwards glance at us and heads to one of the pastures. Then he just LOVES having us pick him up at the end of a play day or after a stay over !!! Took our dog Gracie here for the first time. They offer extra treats with soothing pads to comfort dogs on drop off which helps us feel a little better. She seemed to be happy when picking her up . We took her to another place previously and could see the difference. I know it's hard to tell if your pet liked it or not. I feel at ease with knowing the staff is professional and eager to answer any questions. They even did a follow up call after picking her up to check on her. Best place in Stanislaus County to bring your pup. We live in Turlock , (less than a mile from a different kennel) but we will make the drive to Modesto. CR Ranch has a lot of outdoor play area, which our pup loves!! The kennels are clean and kept cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They evaluate all animals before allowing them to stay to ensure they aren't agressive. The also require proof of vaccines. We love this place!!! We've taken our pup here for years and she loves it too! We tried one closer to home, but our pup just seemed down when we picked her up. Trust me, CR Ranch is worth the trek to modesto. read more

I viewed many boarding places online and in-person (from Modesto to Sacramento) to make sure my baby would be at the right place and CR ranch is the place. I've tried other boarding places and my dog seems the happiest to be here. The pictures they posted of my boy on social media proved it to me. He loves the big fields he gets to play in and they accommodate his sleeping needs. He was a shelter dog so staying with other dogs in a kennel is triggering for him, so they place him in his own little room with his bed and all his favorite toys and treats from home. If you're trying to decide where to take your fur baby-pick this place. After his first weekend here, my dog didn't even care I was there to pick him up, almost like he wanted to stay lol. read more

Solid kennel. We had a negative experience with another large kennel in town so this time I did my research and found CR Ranch. We have boarded our Dharma here twice now. She had a personality assessment prior to boarding to make sure she was a good fit. She is a German Shepherd and her breed is notorious for anxiety while away from their family. It was nice, she spent 4 hours with them while they determined how she would do with other breeds and different sized dogs. It was determined before her first stay that she would be a good fit to play with smaller dogs while out of her kennel. My first impression of this place was WOW! Very well maintained property with play arenas and the kennels are clean and free of pet odors. Everybody who works here seems genuinely happy to be there and they take a special interest with every animal that crosses their threshold. I felt so much better about leaving her here. The report given when you pick up your animal is extensive and they come home relaxed. With our prior experience she came home with kennel cough, itching and smelling of urine. It took two baths to get rid of the smell. That's not the case here. Not a trace of urine odor and she returned to us (both times) just as we left her. Happy and healthy. I'm happy we found CR Ranch and we will be back for all of our boarding needs. read more

Our dog absolutely loves it here. The staff is welcoming and clearly loves the dogs who come in. We are always welcomed with a friendly smile. At the end of the day when we pick him up, he's exhausted and happy. It is clear they've been affectionate and taken good care of him while we were at work. I found this boarding facility on Yelp, because I didn't want to send our dogs (boxers) to just any boarding facility after their last few experiences. My husband made the reservation and got all the questions answered and was impressed and he gave the required $50 deposit. When I took our 3 dogs on Friday 8/16, I was greeted with "you must be our boxers from Patterson." That was a very nice and warm feeling and something I didn't experience at the previous kennel. I then asked if someone could help me with the dogs because I was by myself? She said absolutely and her and another young gal came out with their rope leashes and gently made contact with my dogs then placed the leashes over their heads and the dogs were lead to the play yard where they were left to run and play! After our return, our dogs were happy and clean and they didn't smell. (which was always a big problem with other kennels unless you pay for a bath, but even then they tend to smell). When we asked how our dogs did, she said they were great! She said our youngest boxer was a love bug and none of them caused problems. I asked if our boxers would be allowed back, she said absolutely! I stated that was refreshing, as the previous kennel said the 2 boxers "scared" the employees because they were too rough & vocal. I liked the detailed report I received back on our dogs. I liked that we were advised to bring items that would smell like home to ease anxiety separation. I would recommend this dog boarding facility because they are focused on the best interest of the animals. (If you read the other posts about people just showing up and the kennel being closed and not being able to get their pet, let me just say this: at any kennel we have ever used there have been drop off and pick up times. People need to ask. Secondly, if you went to any other business and they were closed would you call them and demand them to open so you could be served?) We will be using this kennel for Labor Day Weekend and they DO HAVE SPECIFC HOURS for drop and pick up for the holiday. I know because I asked. As a pet owner using a facility like this, this is info you need to ask and should not be a negative on feedback of the boarding facility. read more

CR Ranch deserves 10 stars! I have been to three other pet care centers, all three were less than acceptable. From first impressions, I was blown away by CR Ranch. After the first visit and daycare day, I was more impressed and knew this would be my dog's permanent care center for any daycare and overnight stays. I highly recommend them based on their staff and multiple indoor and outdoor setups. They treat the animals like their own, give them individual attention, and monitor them at all times. They have multiple safety procedures in place, for the safety of the animals and in case anything goes wrong with your animal. They have no issues with you calling and checking on your animal during their stay. They post photos for you to see your animal playing or lounging during their stay. I recommend CR Ranch to all my friends and family. I trust them with my Furr Baby, I know my dog is in great care. If you're thinking about letting CR Ranch care for your animal, I promise it's a great choice and you won't doubt it after you see the layouts and meet the staff. Last month we were out of country for 3 weeks, needless to say, I was worried about what to do with our dog, he is like our family, and I had to make sure I found a place that would take good care of him and he would have plenty of playing time outside. CR Ranch popped out of my google research, after looking at their intro video about having big play outdoor areas, we brought our dog in for a tour. He looked quite relaxing. The staff was very friendly and explained in details about all the concerns I had, we immediately put down the deposit. We booked the condo for our dog, they even put down a big blanket cover the whole room floor just so our dog felt like home. The most thoughtful thing was that the staff emailed me pictures and videos of him playing and having fun with other dogs while we were gone all the time. On the day of picking him up, they bathed him, he was all clean and did not look nervous at all. The emails and bath were free of charge too. I couldn't have chosen a better place for our dog. CR Ranch will be the only place I can be comfortablely leaving my dog knowing he is being taken good care of. I highly recommend CR Ranch to any pet owners! read more

We've now trusted the Ranch with our sweet German Shepherd at least 5 times over the last 2 years. Our girl is the timid, nervous type. The wonderful staff helped her work through her anxiety and have even started introducing her to their gentle "on-site" dogs. She has become so accustomed to the place, she comes home in the same mood as we left here. Of course excited to see us, but no tummy upsets, clinging behavior or other indicators that she was stressed. Our dog is on rx dog food, needs eye drops twice a day, and is slow to make friends with people and other animals. The Ranch has accommodated all of her special needs to our continued satisfaction. Our dog Joey loves going to the "RANCH". They have taken such great care of him when we have been unable to take him on vacation. They have watched him for up to 30 days when we were overseas. They keep you up-to-date on any needs or concerns they may have for your pet. They get plenty of playtime and distraction while you are away. They care so much about your pets that they have even chosen to take their personal lunch breaks to just hang out with our pooch. When we tell Joey that he's going to the ranch or he even sees us packing up his bed he gets beyond excited because he knows what's about to happen. When we were looking to move out of the area we were so concerned that we wouldn't find a place like the ranch. They are the best place, most comfortable place to leave my dogs. They kept me updated, took pictures and felt secured while I was on vacation. I cried when I left them feeling guilty. But, when I came back to pick them up they didn't want to leave. My dogs had so much fun they wanted to stay longer. They are so great with our little man! We have been on multiple trips, in and out of country, and have felt great about him being there. Even for the day care times our dog has gone, he comes back completely exhausted from excitement and playing all day! The best part is the updated pictures we get! After another popular kennel told me they were booked, I was panicked about what to do with my 1 year old greyhound rescue. Somehow I stumbled across CR Ranch, called and talked to them. They had the dates I needed available and told me to stop by any time to take a look around (I thought that was an awesome sign!). I took my boys with me and all of us were impressed with the play areas both indoors and out. The kennels were super clean and the indoor condos were fabulous. Nothing smelled like a dog or like cleaner either. We made final arrangements and returned with our dog a few weeks later for a 10 day stay. I am a neurotic pet owner, in the sense that our dog is part of our family. Leaving her was not easy for any of us in the family. The staff made me feel wonderful when we dropped her off and our girl was so excited to go out and play, she hardly noticed we were leaving. While away I sent a couple of e-mails to check on our girls progress. I always got responses that were very honest - yes, she is great but misses you, etc. The best part was getting a video texted to me of our girl having a great time playing with another dog. It warmed our hearts to see our girl so happy and to know that they staff cared so much. When we picked our girl up, the staff filled us in on the 10 days she spent with them. Talking with them, they must have spent a lot of time with our girl because they really knew her so well. Not to mention, some of the things they told me about her stay were above and beyond even my expectations. I was quite impressed! Then they brought our girl out for us. She looked great and was happy to see us. We have another vacation scheduled in a few months and feel so thankful that we won't have to worry about our four legged family member when we are gone. read more

This past weekend we boarded our 3 small dogs at the ranch for 4 days. we dropped them off and right away they were led out to the wonderful open play area where they could run and play. The ladies in the office were very nice and the facilities are very very clean. Topping the list of amenities are several acre size play fields that the dogs are led out to play in several times a day. They don't limit their time for play, so they definately get their fill. our dogs stayed in the condos outside the main facilities where we brought some of their toys and pet beds with their persons scent to comfort them while they were away from us upon pickup the dogs were happy and not stressed out. you could tell they got plenty of exercise and attention while we were away. my husband, kids and I all found comfort in that ... we will definately and already have recommended cr ranch and pet o tel to friends.
