Everything! Made me feel safe and secure that my dog Marley was with a vet that was like Dr Baker.

We weren't seen by Dr Andrew Waymire (Dr Drew) until nearly 10:30 am. He seemed to be missing knowledge, had nothing informative to share with me for my little Yorkie (16 yrs). Dr Drew, seemed to be irritated and impatient with any questions or comments I made. I found him to be condescending, rude and in knowledgeable. He suggested blood work to see if there was any other illness she might have. I agreed. So, another 30 minutes or so he gave me the blood panel results... all within normal range. In closing, I was asked to pay over $300.00 to be talked to rudely, given no explanation of why my little dog was feeling ill and weak except a couple of guesses of what could be happening and wasted an hour and a half of my time. I do not recommend this Dr, but if I ever need to visit River Oak Veterinary Clinic again I will ask for Dr Chatfield or Dr Spieller.

We needed a rather urgent appt this week and got plugged in w Dr Joel Speiller. He, too, was fantastic. He took his time to explain everything and even called personally to follow up the next day on a prescription. Overall- this place isn't the most modern or fancy- but the staff can't be beat. Travis (receptionist) is ALWAYS kind, caring and detail oriented. The new bubbly receptionist is a sweetheart as well. Overall- I know my dog is in good hands here.

I have taken all of my many animals to this clinic for the past 30 years and I couldn't be happier…read morewith the care my animals received back then. I have recommended Dr. Hagen to dozens of friends and coworkers during those years, but that is something I can't bring myself to do any longer. In my opinion, when Dr Frank's son joined the practice, the level of care declined and the prices soared. For years people would drive from as far away as Stockton and Turlock, to bring their pets there for the excellent care and reasonable prices. But now it's become all about profit without the care. Last fall I took a stray cat in to be fixed, and although their prices are higher than other clinics, they have been my vet for so long, I went ahead and scheduled the surgery. During the surgery the office did call to tell me that they would have to go in through the cats abdomen to remove a testicle that was undescended, but neglected to tell me this would triple the price and make it a nearly $300 stray spay. But I have the money and it needed to be done, so I paid the bill, knowing this would be the last time I came here, and vowing to find another vet. Then low and behold, after all that, imagine my surprise when 8 months later that same cat HAD ANOTHER BALL DROP?!! Yes, you did read that correctly, the cat has another testicle now in his ball sack!!! So after paying all that money, and putting my cat through the added risk of abdominal surgery, when the vet couldn't find the testicle, he just closed him back up and thought "who's gonna know"??? Anyone know a good lawyer? If this cat was a human that doctor would no longer have a practice! Old Dr. Hagen would NEVER have tolerated this kind of shoddy work! Shame on them!

Actually the worst vet. We've been going here for years and before they were all about money, they…read moreactually seemed to care. We took our cat here and did a bunch of tests and he was ok but had some sneezes. Took him in for a follow up bloodwork a few months later and his ALT liver enzyme was over 600. We saw doctor Pam who recommended shots and a CT scan as "top line treatment" because immediately they thought it was a congenial issue. Spent money on the Ct scan and it was negative but his liver enzymes were still going up. NOT ONCE did they start any treatment but they sure did run more tests. All negative and NOT ONCE did doctor Pam recommend any type of plan other than a $5000 invasive biopsy on our 1 year old cat. The enzymes went up over 1000 and I went online and found out info about steroids on my own since nothing was being done and asked Doctor Pam, who insisted we HAVE to do a biopsy and she had the nerve to say steroids might inflame his liver and it would be too much to give him steroids...but a full liver biopsy is fine? Ok. We got a second opinion and this new vet who actually cares about animals over money started him on an empirical treatment immediately and now his liver enzymes are back to normal a month and a half later...with a steroid called Prednisolone that bypasses the liver anyway. I feel so frustrated. For one, I'm mad she didn't even try to start him on anything, no treatment plan at all cuz they knew we loved this baby and would pay to help him. They messed with our vulnerability. For two, we paid a ton of money thinking we were trusting someone who actually cared, and for three and maybe the most aggravating and upsetting part, we put our little cat through so much and so many treatments because THIS VET told us it was needed it...and almost put him through a biopsy for no reason. Shame on you and the whole practice for valuing money over animals. Go to a vet who actually cares. Doctor Pam and this horrible place only care about your money and not your babies. Never again. The only thing they did do was help us with insurance because God knows they want their money. Unbelievable. Go to Village Oak or Waterford Vet or Animal Medical instead of this money hungry practice. We are lucky we actually still even have our little baby after this.

It was later in the day and Sylvan was the only one who was welcoming and made us an appointment that same day at about 4 PM. On a Saturday. Thank you for helping us out, and I would definitely recommend this pet hospital anytime.

He once put back together our cat, Sissy, she got run over. The x-rays were just heartbreaking. She had 13 fractures most of which needed hardware fixation. I could not believe it could be done, but very amazingly, he put her all back together. Sissy was up and and returned to her normal sassy self . She was running around again in 2-3 weeks. Last week he got a foxtail out of my Bella ( 14 years old Terrier), just with local anesthesia. He even did a fluorescence exam of her eye to make sure there was no corneal ulcer. Dr Singh and staff explained all costs before taking Bella back. I know he could've opted to say she needed a general anesthesia and labs, but he wanted to put her through as little as possible given her age, not to mention the added cost that would be involved. The staff all loved on my Bella. Miss Bella, instead of wanting to go back to the car outside, was pulling me back to the surgical area, almost like she wanted to say bye and thank you to the entire team. Dr. Singh and everyone was so gentle. Knowing Bella's sweet nature, and everybody's compassion, i'm not surprised , because at this age, she usually never wants to leave my side. I work in healthcare and after 30 years, believe me I can instantly "smell" the difference between humane and ethical care versus profit as the more important interest. Through the life cycles of five different pets, I am eternally greatful to Dr. Singh and his staff for being that " Diamond in the rough," especially at a time when a profit mentality is taking over both the human and animal healthcare industry. In summary, he is a fantastic doctor with a fantastic team.

We waited 2.5 hours before being even assessed. But other than that I was happy with the visit. I read all the reviews and was worried about the level of care due to what I was reading. My cat bootsie came in with what seemed like she was exposed to a toxin. I'm glad we brought her in. It was the hardest decision ever but right by her. She had a fever of 106.4 and would have likely passed at home in pain. We opted for euthanasia due to the diagnosis and I knew it was coming. I couldn't afford treatment as it was. They didn't even charge me for the doctors exam for the $189 they only charged us for the euthanasia. Which I felt was a fair price for $199 to take the body home vs golden valley vet whom I called for a quote on the same thing and they quoted me $360!!! Not even for cremation The doctor she was very kind and explained the options and gave me reality. We made the right choice by Bootsie. The staff were great in helping me shave a patch of her fur and even got her paw prints for me and nose prints. I didn't even think they would get it since her whole mouth was covered in the activated charcoal I gave her. But I saw when I got home how many great prints they did of her paws and nose and it warmed my heart to have those. Thanks for helping her transition over the rainbow bridge

However, once we were placed in a room, we waited for an hour and a half and no technician or veterinarian came in to check on us. No one provided any updates or explained what was going on. We ultimately decided to leave and go somewhere else. This was not how we wanted our little dog's final moments to be handled. It felt like there was very little communication or urgency. It was a very disappointing and upsetting experience during an already difficult time.
