Mahmah...now in heaven, but forever in our hearts.
    John D.

Everyone that we had help us out last night was very caring and nice. We were very grateful for this team for making Mahmah comfortable and sending her off into her deep sleep to be in doggy heaven. It is one of the saddest times in a person's life when they have to lose their furbabies. We got right in and they took care of everything nice and smoothly for us. Also supplied kleenex and gave us the time we wanted and needed. A very nice tech also came in and did a pawprint for us. Dr Caldwell was very sympathetic. She really helped with this very sad time of life. The facility is also very clean and safe feeling. Thank you for all the help last night.

    Rude worker. Kristen

My heart is broken! Not only did I have to deal with the loss of my dog but I also had to deal with a very rude assistant, Kristen, which made my moment of heartbreak even more stressful!!! My beloved dog of 14 years died in surgery, the doctor told us to hurry back to say our goodbyes. We decided to take her home...they asked us if we wanted paw prints but we didn't know we would have to wait hours, we were told it'll be about 15-20 more min every time we asked... or we can call you, I said, we live out of town, how long does it take?... their response, "we're really busy"... but my dog just died and we would like to take her home and start the grieving process.... Ok wait outside and we'll bring her out... 1/2 hr, 1 hr, 2 hrs, 2 1/2hrs... They make you wait outside to bring your dog's body to you... While waiting for the paw prints and our dog who just past away, the office assistant (she said her name was Kristen), walked outside on her phone,... (after almost 3 hrs now) looked at me and said, no she's not ready yet!... so I asked how long would it take for paw prints and she snapped back in a very rude tone about how busy they were. I said, don't talk to me like that I just lost my dog and that's really rude... as she walked away and went back into the building. Kristen was really rude for no reason and showed no compassion for our loss. When I went to the office to complain, her apology was more of an accusation that she replied that way because she was on the phone... and she still did not give a genuine apology. Instead her and another office assistant that had tattoos on her neck bagan to forcefully tell us to wait outside or on the couch and to get away from the counter.... was still rude and only then she finally asked someone to get paw prints done... and get our dog ready for release. I was too distraught to argue and was just happy they were finally going to release our dog to us. When we finally got her body, they left the IV in her arm from when she was in surgery.and the paw prints were not in a certificate it was literally on scratch paper. I understand being stressed because she works in a busy environment but if they would have just given us our dog when we got there that would have been one less thing on their to do list to be stressed about. Why did it take a complaint to get them to give us our dog back??? After the complaint, it only took them 10 minutes to give me my baby. Now we can bury her and have closure. I would have given no stars but I am giving 1 star because there were 2 other office assistants that were actually very kind. Shalom and a gentleman who I didn't get his name that left at about 8:30p. Thank you Shalom I know you tried to help, I did appreciate that you tried to get our baby ready for release and kept getting told no. Now we take lay her down to rest in peace.

WARNING!!!!!!! My dog ate a piece of a toy , she threw it up at home, but in the middle of the night began vomiting and diarrhea. Took her to this place at 230 in the morning. She was stable but I was worried. Got her in at 430am, filled out paperwork explained what happened and the fact that she has a history of pancreatitis. The symptoms are also associated with pancreatitis. I authorized credit card charge ahead of time, asked to be called 3x for X-ray results before any other procedures may have to be done. At 730 am I get a call that Annie had surgery. I got not one call from this place, within 3 hours my dog was in and out of surgery for NO reason and without my permission or knowledge!! There was no blockage,I should have been given the opportunity to choose for My family member. She should have been given a chance with fluids and antibiotics and observation as she was stable. 2000 dollars for a procedure that put my Annie at risk, and pain and suffering for her!!!! I have attempted MULTIPLE times to speak with these people to no avail! It's not about the money , this is an ethical and moral problem with this VET! To top it off it was the director who chose to put my dog through an unnecessary procedure!!!! Be careful, I know we all love our pets, mine could have died in the operating table for NO reason!

We took our Dane here this last Friday at 1 am. He wasn't acting right, we thought he had a fever or was feeling ill. Turns out he had extreme back pain. The girls took him in and Doctor Holmes knew exactly what was wrong with him. For these gentle giants, finding that out before it gets worse ( how we lost our last Dane) was a great sign. He was put on meds and got a shot for the pain. He is doing a lot better but he is on bed rest. Thank you! You girls saved our baby. We don't want to lose him like we lost our last, so this was a wake up call to start really monitoring him. This place is great and cares for our Dane just like his regular vet.

I took my baby here when he sprained his neck. The wait line was long but totally worth it. The vet that was working that day was so nice and explained everything to me in great detail. He gave us medicine and it was all of a reasonable price I wasn't expecting. Definitely recommend coming here!

We waited 2.5 hours before being even assessed. But other than that I was happy with the visit. I read all the reviews and was worried about the level of care due to what I was reading. My cat bootsie came in with what seemed like she was exposed to a toxin. I'm glad we brought her in. It was the hardest decision ever but right by her. She had a fever of 106.4 and would have likely passed at home in pain. We opted for euthanasia due to the diagnosis and I knew it was coming. I couldn't afford treatment as it was. They didn't even charge me for the doctors exam for the $189 they only charged us for the euthanasia. Which I felt was a fair price for $199 to take the body home vs golden valley vet whom I called for a quote on the same thing and they quoted me $360!!! Not even for cremation The doctor she was very kind and explained the options and gave me reality. We made the right choice by Bootsie. The staff were great in helping me shave a patch of her fur and even got her paw prints for me and nose prints. I didn't even think they would get it since her whole mouth was covered in the activated charcoal I gave her. But I saw when I got home how many great prints they did of her paws and nose and it warmed my heart to have those. Thanks for helping her transition over the rainbow bridge

Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my mother's dog received at this clinic…read more We brought her in because she was actively vomiting, suffering from diarrhea, and unable to keep down food or water. Despite being fully aware of her condition, the clinic sent her home with oral medications that she was unable to keep down. No IV fluids were provided, and her condition worsened significantly the following day, forcing us to seek care elsewhere. To make matters worse, we later learned that the dosage of medication she was sent home with appeared inappropriate for her small size. As pet owners, we trusted that the medications and dosages being prescribed were safe and appropriate. Learning that there were concerns about the dosage only added to our worry and frustration. What is most frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. We were under the impression that certain treatments had been provided, only to later discover discrepancies in what was actually administered. We have also been told after the fact that hospitalization was recommended, but that was never clearly communicated to my mother during the visit. Had she been properly informed that her dog's condition was serious enough to require hospitalization, she would have taken immediate action. When we sought a second opinion, we were advised that injectable anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, and supportive care should have been considered given the symptoms our dog was experiencing. Instead, she was sent home with oral medication despite being unable to keep anything down. We attempted to resolve our concerns directly and professionally with the clinic before sharing our experience publicly. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging our concerns, our request for a refund was denied. Pet owners trust veterinary clinics during some of the most stressful moments imaginable. We expected compassionate care, clear communication, and appropriate treatment. Instead, we were left with a much sicker dog, significant emotional distress, and additional veterinary expenses to address issues that we believe should have been handled appropriately from the beginning. I encourage anyone considering this clinic to ask detailed questions, request copies of all treatment records, and carefully review the care plan and medications being recommended for their pet.

They kept my dog in an oxygen tank overnight and the next day advised us that she would not make it. I understand that vets advise humane euthanasia but they shouldn't guilt trip the patient's owners into it. Also please know how your pets act because vets and vet techs don't know them as much as you do! Our dog usually pants heavily and gets really anxious and the vets perceived it as her struggling to breathe and even kept advising us that euthanasia was the only way. We opted to bring her home and get a second opinion with her primary vet (who advised us that she was still bright and alert and needed treatment, not euthanasia!) Her primary vet also saw red flags with all the different medication she was given and obviously would cause her body to react negatively. We could have lost her that day to euthanasia but thank goodness we followed our instinct and brought her home. It's been 5 days now and she's starting to eat and drink and get her strength back. When it's time - they will let you know. Humane euthanasia is beneficial, yes. But know how your pets are and always get a second opinion if you're not sure!

We brought our 16 year old Chloe in after she had been diagnosed with a blood clot in her right back leg, and we made the heartbreaking decision to have her euthanized to prevent further suffering. We expected compassion, gentleness, and basic empathy during this process. Unfortunately, what we experienced was the complete opposite. The veterinarian, Dr. Wishner who attended to Chloe showed no compassion or sensitivity. His handling of her was rough and lacked the care and dignity that any animal--especially one in her final moments--deserves. It was incredibly upsetting to witness, and it added unnecessary trauma to an already devastating situation. However, I do want to acknowledge that the veterinary technician, Brie, was very kind and caring. Her compassion did not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciated her support during such a difficult time. This experience overall was not just disappointing--it was unacceptable. No pet owner should have to endure such a cold and careless experience when saying goodbye to a cherished member of their family. Because of this experience, I would never recommend this veterinarian to anyone. I hope this complaint is taken seriously so that no other family has to go through what we did. We called our regular vet, and with it being a Friday afternoon they had no available appointments. Totally understandable, we were referred to an emergency clinic in Berkeley. The traffic in that direction to berkley was terrible, and by this point my poor dog is shaking and pooping blood. My coworker from Pacifica, overheard my panic as I was on the phone at work with my husband who was with our sick dog frantically trying to find an emergency clinic, suggested VEG veterinary emergency group. She said she had heard great things and took her sick pup there, from Pacifica to San Ramon based on others glowing recommendations of them. I instructed my husband to rush to San Ramon, while I called veg to give them a heads up on my dog being rushed in. By this point, I'd called multiple other "emergency" pet clinics and was frustrated with the lack of appointments (and empathy). I called VEG fully expecting to get turned away and I was pleasantly surprised with how Wonderful, supportive and helpful the front desk gal was. She calmly heard me out, understood that I was at work my husband was in the car speeding towards them with a vomiting shaking, mess of a dog. She texted me an intake form to fill out. And told me not to worry and that they would be ready to help my husband and dog as soon as they came through the door. This place has pet emergencies dialed in. My husband said as soon as he came in, they greeted him and my dog dingo by name and took them in side and seen by a vet FAST. They quickly administered IV hydration, gave him anti nausea and anti diarrheal. They took blood for tests and X-rays ( or ultrasound I'm not sure) to check for blockages. My husband was blown away by the open lobby and the efficacy and compassion. Thankfully seems like our Boy will live to see another day, he's feeling much much better. And we now have a go to location for any pet emergencies. Don't hesitate on driving here from anywhere in the Bay Area for an animal emergency. They are worth the drive and the money. I will say it was not a cheap visit but given the circumstances the care and the efficiency was well worth every single penny. This place is great. Thank you so much VEG. The best in pet emergencies

First, I want to acknowledge that the staff were kind, gentle, and clearly cared about both me and my cat. During an incredibly emotional time, they treated us with empathy, and I'm grateful for that. However, my cat was in renal failure, and I don't feel that I was ever given a clear or honest understanding of how serious her condition truly was. I was repeatedly told that her situation was treatable, particularly once she started eating again. She ended up staying there for three nights, and while I was told she had begun eating at the clinic, when I brought her home she still wasn't eating and was in very poor condition. What's most difficult for me is that she passed away the day after I brought her home, after I had spent nearly $16,000 on her care. Looking back, I strongly wish someone had been more candid with me about her prognosis and whether euthanasia might have been the most humane option. I feel like I wasn't given the information I needed to make an informed decision about her end-of-life care. I don't doubt the compassion of the staff, but I do wish there had been clearer communication and more medical guidance during such a critical time. For anyone going through something similar, I would encourage asking very direct questions about prognosis and quality of life, as I wish I had been guided more firmly in that direction.
