Mahmah...now in heaven, but forever in our hearts.
    John D.

Everyone that we had help us out last night was very caring and nice. We were very grateful for this team for making Mahmah comfortable and sending her off into her deep sleep to be in doggy heaven. It is one of the saddest times in a person's life when they have to lose their furbabies. We got right in and they took care of everything nice and smoothly for us. Also supplied kleenex and gave us the time we wanted and needed. A very nice tech also came in and did a pawprint for us. Dr Caldwell was very sympathetic. She really helped with this very sad time of life. The facility is also very clean and safe feeling. Thank you for all the help last night.

My heart is broken! Not only did I have to deal with the loss of my dog but I also had to deal with a very rude assistant, Kristen, which made my moment of heartbreak even more stressful!!! My beloved dog of 14 years died in surgery, the doctor told us to hurry back to say our goodbyes. We decided to take her home...they asked us if we wanted paw prints but we didn't know we would have to wait hours, we were told it'll be about 15-20 more min every time we asked... or we can call you, I said, we live out of town, how long does it take?... their response, "we're really busy"... but my dog just died and we would like to take her home and start the grieving process.... Ok wait outside and we'll bring her out... 1/2 hr, 1 hr, 2 hrs, 2 1/2hrs... They make you wait outside to bring your dog's body to you... While waiting for the paw prints and our dog who just past away, the office assistant (she said her name was Kristen), walked outside on her phone,... (after almost 3 hrs now) looked at me and said, no she's not ready yet!... so I asked how long would it take for paw prints and she snapped back in a very rude tone about how busy they were. I said, don't talk to me like that I just lost my dog and that's really rude... as she walked away and went back into the building. Kristen was really rude for no reason and showed no compassion for our loss. When I went to the office to complain, her apology was more of an accusation that she replied that way because she was on the phone... and she still did not give a genuine apology. Instead her and another office assistant that had tattoos on her neck bagan to forcefully tell us to wait outside or on the couch and to get away from the counter.... was still rude and only then she finally asked someone to get paw prints done... and get our dog ready for release. I was too distraught to argue and was just happy they were finally going to release our dog to us. When we finally got her body, they left the IV in her arm from when she was in surgery.and the paw prints were not in a certificate it was literally on scratch paper. I understand being stressed because she works in a busy environment but if they would have just given us our dog when we got there that would have been one less thing on their to do list to be stressed about. Why did it take a complaint to get them to give us our dog back??? After the complaint, it only took them 10 minutes to give me my baby. Now we can bury her and have closure. I would have given no stars but I am giving 1 star because there were 2 other office assistants that were actually very kind. Shalom and a gentleman who I didn't get his name that left at about 8:30p. Thank you Shalom I know you tried to help, I did appreciate that you tried to get our baby ready for release and kept getting told no. Now we take lay her down to rest in peace.

WARNING!!!!!!! My dog ate a piece of a toy , she threw it up at home, but in the middle of the night began vomiting and diarrhea. Took her to this place at 230 in the morning. She was stable but I was worried. Got her in at 430am, filled out paperwork explained what happened and the fact that she has a history of pancreatitis. The symptoms are also associated with pancreatitis. I authorized credit card charge ahead of time, asked to be called 3x for X-ray results before any other procedures may have to be done. At 730 am I get a call that Annie had surgery. I got not one call from this place, within 3 hours my dog was in and out of surgery for NO reason and without my permission or knowledge!! There was no blockage,I should have been given the opportunity to choose for My family member. She should have been given a chance with fluids and antibiotics and observation as she was stable. 2000 dollars for a procedure that put my Annie at risk, and pain and suffering for her!!!! I have attempted MULTIPLE times to speak with these people to no avail! It's not about the money , this is an ethical and moral problem with this VET! To top it off it was the director who chose to put my dog through an unnecessary procedure!!!! Be careful, I know we all love our pets, mine could have died in the operating table for NO reason!

We took our Dane here this last Friday at 1 am. He wasn't acting right, we thought he had a fever or was feeling ill. Turns out he had extreme back pain. The girls took him in and Doctor Holmes knew exactly what was wrong with him. For these gentle giants, finding that out before it gets worse ( how we lost our last Dane) was a great sign. He was put on meds and got a shot for the pain. He is doing a lot better but he is on bed rest. Thank you! You girls saved our baby. We don't want to lose him like we lost our last, so this was a wake up call to start really monitoring him. This place is great and cares for our Dane just like his regular vet.

I took my baby here when he sprained his neck. The wait line was long but totally worth it. The vet that was working that day was so nice and explained everything to me in great detail. He gave us medicine and it was all of a reasonable price I wasn't expecting. Definitely recommend coming here!

We waited 2.5 hours before being even assessed. But other than that I was happy with the visit. I read all the reviews and was worried about the level of care due to what I was reading. My cat bootsie came in with what seemed like she was exposed to a toxin. I'm glad we brought her in. It was the hardest decision ever but right by her. She had a fever of 106.4 and would have likely passed at home in pain. We opted for euthanasia due to the diagnosis and I knew it was coming. I couldn't afford treatment as it was. They didn't even charge me for the doctors exam for the $189 they only charged us for the euthanasia. Which I felt was a fair price for $199 to take the body home vs golden valley vet whom I called for a quote on the same thing and they quoted me $360!!! Not even for cremation The doctor she was very kind and explained the options and gave me reality. We made the right choice by Bootsie. The staff were great in helping me shave a patch of her fur and even got her paw prints for me and nose prints. I didn't even think they would get it since her whole mouth was covered in the activated charcoal I gave her. But I saw when I got home how many great prints they did of her paws and nose and it warmed my heart to have those. Thanks for helping her transition over the rainbow bridge

One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

Instead of addressing the situation professionally and taking accountability for the confusion, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable. We entrusted this facility with the care of our pet and expected to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this clinic to others who expect professionalism, respectful communication, and accountability from veterinary staff.

This is my second experience where first they wanted to put down my 1 year old kitty who was having urinary problems. I kept asking why they weren't starting him on antibiotics? I asked why are they compounding with stronger pain meds? Obviously his condition is getting worse if you're only treating the symptoms and not the cause. It was almost like they were setting him up for failure (death). They didn't care or listen when I told them I was a Pharmacist and had better recommendations on medication choices. I kept taking him every other day as his condition was worsening and they only kept adding stronger pain meds without identifying and treating the root of the problem. It made my parents sick to hear their suggestion of putting my cat down on the third visit. They didn't have the heart to even tell me that. So, my mom called all of her friends and found a "hero vet" who saved my cat's life. He actually DID start antibiotics and other meds to help with urinary flow and some pain meds to keep him comfortable. He also recommended a wet urinary diet and Calm Probiotics to be mixed in his wet food. We kept him on the meds for a month and he continues to eat his urinary diet. My baby is a healthy 4 year old now. I can't stand the horrific practices at VEG San Ramon. And now just the other day, they put down my friend's cat who was only 6 years old. Again, they couldn't diagnose or identify the problem so they suggested euthanasia. I feel there's a huge conflict of interest in their treatment of our sick pets and their push to get mildly sick pets euthanized and then cremated. This is sadly a scam business. I was so happy when they first opened because I felt a sense of relief having a 24/7 emergency vet nearby. Little did I know their ruthless practices would bring so much pain to pets and their parents. Please don't trust them with the health and wellbeing of your fur babies.

I hate to write a bad review, but I also feel compelled to warn others so that they don't have the…read moresame experience that we did. I will not share the entire saga, but here is what I will say: - I do not know if SAGE's clinical choices were sound, as I am not a vet. What I do know is that they were not successful, and resulted in the death of a relatively young (6 year old) cat who did not appear to be *that sick*. - The care that was provided - which took place over the course of less than 12 hours and did not involve any surgery resulted in bills exceeding $7,000. - After the traumatic experience, SAGE was focused purely on payment, and not at all on condolences. They immediately charged the credit card on file and sent multiple emails with invoices (which were unclear and in some cases contradictory). When I arrived to pick up the cat's ashes the person at the front desk looked at the computer and said "you have an outstanding balance of $400; would you like to pay that now?" She did not say "I'm sorry for your loss" and instead just straight to asking for more money. When I pushed back she said "that's our protocol." Yes, clearly it is. - They made many administrative errors throughout the process, which I will not go into because for those they have apologized, but there were so many that I felt embarassed for them. But I've now contacted them multiple times with one simple request: please send me one invoice that is complete and accurate. My requests have gone unanswered. Perhaps because they have already received payment, they are no longer concerned with me, but it's actually pretty outlandish. They charged over $7,000 (I think - it's actually hard to tell because again, the charges and invoices are not clear or complete) and can't be bothered with giving me a clear answer. I am truly not sure how any business can get away with operating this way, but apparently SAGE can. I'm sure they do some good work. I'm sure there are many good people who work there and care a lot about animals. But based on our experience, it feels like incompetent adminstration at best and a scam at worst. I know that when your pet needs emergency care you may not have a lot of options, but if you do, I suggest that you try to go elsewhere.
