Now there's a large parking lot with several picnic tables and benches and bathroom facilities. The tables are mostly shaded but that depends on the sun and the time of year. It was a pleasant place to spend our after hike time and plan our hike for next week. There are two trails leading from the parking area. One of them splits into a third and they end at an unpaved trail that is the south section of the Wetlands Park Loop Trail. You can take any of these trails from the picnic area to the Nature Center at the Wetlands Park and then come back here for a picnic. It would be a nice family outing!

It only consist of a massively large, lush, well watered green field... and that's it. Park and follow the sidewalk by the road down and you'll find the entrance on your left. It's a shame that there's a "No Animals Allowed" sign posted. This park would be such a delightful and relaxing place to stroll with your pup if allowed. Other than that, it's a lovely place to visit for a quiet and quick stroll.

The trail is always clean and well maintained, and the friendly neighbors you pass along the way make it feel even more welcoming. Another possible option is when path includes waking by a different park parking area. Parking Tip: Free parking at the plaza with The Pint. There is a grocery market, bar, restaurants there too (grab snacks). This is one entrance point of the park. Or parking by Peccole Ranch Park Association. Overall, tons of entrances and parkings throughout the loop. 3.6mile loop stroll (1-1.5hrs stroll). It'll go through all the terrain areas, shaded and non-shaded. Including chunks of streets crossing, street sidewalk to the park, etc. The trail is one trail loop. It could get confusing because each neighborhood, or transition area may have other roads venturing out to the neighborhoods, and streets to leave/or enter. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/nevada/peccole-ranch-loop Activities: - Frisbee, random poles to do workouts on. - Many of the exercise access points are sad, kind of a joke though.....they put poles around as exercise to use it as back support for squats or such. I was expecting exercise equipment type access points but this is Vegas (limited outdoor life). - There 2 bbq grills, and 2 cement picnic table seating by the kids playground area. 1 was shaded for the whole afternoon. Surprisingly, not much kids around the playground as expected. Alot more people with their fur baby pups strolling the trail. - Picnicking: Certain areas, the park dips down in the middle, where it's more wet. There were a few puddles in the middle so watch your step. There's plenty of grassy areas and trees. Tables are actually shade pretty well for chunk of time. At 91F with shade, outside was semi-comfortably bearable. But at 93F, it become uncomfortably hot even with shade. Grassy areas are semi-hilly. They are slanted but possible to still picnic in some areas. Bugs: Yes there are mosquitos around, not much. Some random gnats too. Thanks to the cousins for suggesting this place awhile back. Their fav place for a long stroll. Funny cause we have friends living walking distance to this BUT they've never even knew about it. We visited in around end of May, and it was perfect weather/temperature for shirt and shorts from sunset to night. Visiting again during the day late Sept was warm but still doable.

It looks as though the park has the typical/normal wear and tear of any park that's been around for years in this harsh desert climate. With that being said it's still a pretty good park. They have restrooms, water fountains, two full tennis courts, a basketball court, Big and little kid playground areas, swing sets, a large properly maintenance grass field where lots of kids have been known to practice soccer in. They also have a fitness area as well as a jogging path that I've had the pleasure of using to burn off those pesky calories. Lastly, they have one gazebo area as well as a frequently visited ice cream truck. Hence the reason to burn off those calories, lol.

It's always been one of my favorite trails in Mt Charleston…read more Mary Jane's is listed as moderate hike and while it's true, it has some pretty steep hills, but the switchbacks are amazingly helpful. Definitely recommend going early in the morning so you can enjoy the cooler temperatures, instead of the hot sun later on. Make sure to bring plenty of drinking water and sunscreen! There is no drinking fountain anywhere on the trail. Also keep in mind, there isn't any restrooms on the hiking trails beside the very bottom at the beginning. The trail is very walkable but definitely no wheelchair accessible! We enjoyed the hike earlier this summer. There was still snow on the ground right across from us on the hillside. While we were hiking, there were beautiful wildflowers present on the ground. After the switchbacks, we had reached the waterfalls and immediately felt the refreshing smell in the air. The water was amazingly pleasant, washed our hands and enjoyed the beautiful views around us. Can't wait to go back again!

When I think of harmony, my mind turns to images of scenic walking trails harmonizing with nature…read more Harmony Park is one of those images that comes to my mind. Harmony Park is a southern extension of Anthem Hills Park. It is a linear park that is bordered by Cadence Street to the west, backyards to the east and bookmarked by two tunnels. Harmony Park serves as both a homeowner association-managed neighborhood park and a little known extension of the regional Anthem Hills Park.   On previous hikes, Harmony Park has been my southernmost point on a round-trip hike originating and ending in the Green Valley at Horizon Ridge Parkways Target Shopping Center. This is an extension of the hike concluding in Harmony Park that I discuss in the following sentences. If you are interested in an hour or two round-trip hike that features Harmony Park as the southernmost leg, I recommend parking at Sunridge Park. After parking the car, I recommend following the route I hike which is doing a loop around the park that is an uphill and downhill trek before continuing south on Sandy Ridge Avenue. Continuing on this hike you will follow the same side of the road as the powerlines that continue from the east periphery of Sunridge Park. Up the hill, Sandy Ridge Avenue ends at a 4-way stop sign against Summit Grove Drive. Proceeding the stop sign you need to continue to follow the powerlines along the paved bike trail. This bike trail continues into Anthem Hills Park. In the park, you will leave the paved trail to descend downhill onto the grassy open space. Hiking to the southwest of Anthem Hills Park are the grand stairs leading to the tunnel into Harmony Park. Please note that you can also extend the hike by hiking to the east periphery of Anthem Hills Park onto the beginning of either Anthem East or McCullough Hills Trails in the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area.    There is very little that advertises Harmony Park. Unlike the Henderson-managed parks there is a want for an entrance sign. The only thing that gives indication that this is Harmony Park is that in the sign listing the rules the name of the park is listed. Walking to the park from the contiguous Anthem Hills Park there are zero signs pointing to the linear green panhandle at the south. Essentially the park has a speakeasy entrance that is a grand staircase at the southwest corner leading to the tunnel under Reunion Drive. Beyond that tunnel is Harmony Park.   Once you pass the tunnel bordering Anthem Hills Park a linear green park reaches towards the horizon. A few feet south of the tunnel begins a white concrete walking path. In symmetry with the landscaped environment it gently weaves through the golf course green grass that is interspersed with trees. Branching from the walking path are spurs reaching gated houses and Cadence Street. Along this landscaped walk are two basketball courts, playground equipment, a swinging bench, and numerous amenities. For this park lover the greatest amenity is nature. Flying between the tree canopies I spotted numerous birds. Near the southernmost point of the park I saw an abundance of bunny rabbits and a few roadrunners near the bushes. Throughout the hike there were a sundry of bushes and trees along the hill separating the park from Cadence Street. After a handful of gentle curves, Harmony Park abruptly concludes at the southern tunnel carrying Réunion Drive.   There was very little graffiti in the park. The little bit of it I saw was in the north tunnel.    Harmony Park provides some unique experiences. It is the only park that I am aware of that starts in a tunnel and ends in another. Secondly it is the only park that I know of where the main entrance is up a grand Rocky staircase then into a tunnel. Perhaps the most unique experience is facing north where the park merges with Anthem Hills Park under the tunnel. This viewpoint provides a tunnel view of the Las Vegas Strip. If it is legal to do so, this is a prime spot to take in the Las Vegas Strip fireworks.   My name is Daniel. S., and I approve of this review. Moreover, I approve of Harmony Park.
