I've been coming to this park ever since I was a kid. For everything from little kid rec soccer, events like the 4th of July, youth events, renaissance fairs, fishing, and everything in between. There is a large flat field, an RC boat pond, fishing pond, bmw track, dog park, and I'm probably forgetting something else. This is a great place to hang out with family or friends (when it's not 1000 degrees outside) and it's always kept so clean and grass well kept. And it's big enough to comfortably fit thousands of people

This is now a favorite of ours! We came here on a whim and after reading reviews. We thought we would make this our puppies first park experience. I cannot say enough good things about this park. It was well kept and super clean. Even the dog park and restrooms - clean! The dog park has a small dog and large dog side AND the areas are huge!!! They even have a small fishing pond and numerous walking trails. Parking is plentiful. Space is endless. We will definitely go out of our way to come here over other parks.

Serene & tranquil plus lotsa activities. Attended many picnics and events. Water park/wet area is fab for the kids, old n new. Have never caught a fish there but a turtle .. fish seen caught very tiny, gr8 place to practice your cast. July 4th fireworks was a awesome night with folks gathering the park. Gr8 event with motorhomes/RV's on the grass area.. hmm if so allowed may do this next year. Tks BC!

Visited this park today for a couple hours. There are a lot of things you can do here. I only walked around and did some birding. There was a BMX stunt area and basketball courts. I saw some very nice baseball fields. There was a duck pond and a fishing pond. A large playground and splash area for kids is here. I'll be back soon to try out some of the different hiking trails. Plenty of parking and everybody I encountered seemed friendly.

A pleasant gem tucked away in Boulder City. As you drive and wind down the road to the park, look at signs posted in street lights of named fallen heroes. We spotted wildlife such as a roadrunner, and variety of ducks. They have two ponds / lakes and you can walk or bike the encompassing trails. Plenty of space on the lush green grassy area to fly a kite, have a family picnic, or stroll through the peaceful environment. No matter what age, you'll be sure to enjoy yourself here if you appreciate the outdoors. About a 15-20mins drive from Henderson NV.

This is a gorgeous park. We walked around the model boating pond and the pond that can be fished in. There were so many ducks around to watch at both locations. I would recommend if you are coming and want to sit at the edge of either pond to either bring a folding chair or a towel so that you can sit on the park benches (lots of birds means a lot of bird poop on the benches). The park also contains a BMX riding area, a splash pad and playground, very well-kept fields including baseball/softball fields, a dog park, and trails. This is an absolutely beautiful park and I highly recommend enjoying some time outdoors here.

My daughter and I like to withdraw to this park even if we just sit in our vehicle and listen to music while enjoying the view. The park is clean. It's a joy to just look at the lake and to watch the ducks playing in the water. This park reminds me of how great of a Creator God is. Thank You God for Veteran's Memorial Park!

This park is SOOO cool!! Had a blast feeding ducks first (super quick so we didn't stand too close to the shit) then straight to the park.. also we went & got a loaf of bread at the 99 cents store down the street right before! The park was really nice The water works by pressing the thicker poles around the water and pressing down on the silver circle on the top! I didn't know how to at first but we finally figured it out

FABULOUS park for kids, working out or having a picnic. The playground is beautifully shaded with sails and trees... plus it's a rubber ground, so no and or bark in the shoes! Splash pad is right next to the playground... it's great. They have horseshoe game and bathrooms. There is a pond with ducks and views of airplanes taking off. It's just a fabulous and clean... best park around.

Went to visit my Grandma's gravesite for her 100th Birthday and went to the park she liked to go to after visiting my Grandpas gravesite. We had a good time as Family celebrating the life and memory of our loved one. Will definitely be back soon.

The pond with many ducks.

This park is the host of the annual Art In The Park that the city hosts each October as well as the BeerFest and I am sure many other events. The park is a nice size and is a great place for a game of frisbie, football, having a picnic or just enjoying the day. Mature and tall trees provide ample shade and although the grass is not as lush as it used to be, it is still provides good ground cover. The pathways are wide and there are plenty of park benches to sit on to read a good book or just destress. You can't miss this park as it is the star of Boulder City. In a sense Xeriscape Park belongs on a "From Google Street View to Yelp Review" list. I am driven to see new places and landscapes, which causes me to do some exploring on Google Maps. When I was exploring over Boulder City on Google Maps, I saw a small parcel of open space at the northeast corner of Veterans Memorial Drive/Georgia Street and Buchanan Drive directory east of Veterans Memorial Park. It was inevitable that when I returned to Veteran's Memorial Park, I was going to explore it in real life. What amazes me about Xeriscape Park is the fact it is surrounded by homes and a substation at the exact time it resembles a miniature pine forest. The tall mature pine trees are a breath of fresh air. And very clean fresh air. If there was such a thing as a scent recorder, the scent of these mature pine trees would be a five star production. Seated on a comfortable bench and breathing in the aroma of the pine under the canopy of mature trees had the magical touch of putting my mind at ease and bringing me to living in the moment. The soundtrack was chirping birds. Xeriscape Park is also a place where children and bunny rabbits come to play. At the entrance stands an idyllic playground that includes swings suited for little kids and adults. Just like the park, the playground was well maintained. If you are travelling from outside Boulder City, I recommend visiting Xeriscape Park in conjunction with Veteran's Memorial Park. Now, Veteran's Memorial Park in my opinion is worthy of a drive. Xeriscape Park is an extension of a Veteran's Memorial Park adventure. This paragraph explains hiking to and through Xeriscape Park from Veteran's Memorial Park. It is approximately. 33 miles and 5 1/2 minutes. What you want to do us locate the walkway between the dog park and the BMX track. This leads outside the park to Buchanan Drive. Now you want to turn left on Buchanan Drive headed North. The Park will be on the right across the street where a sidewalk is nonexistent. Here you will see the Xeriscape Park sign. At the first cross street, you will walk or I suggest run across a Buchanan Road minus a crosswalk to the park. The Park is in actuality to segments. The north segment that you have entered is a diminutive forest featuring pine and supposedly plants that are adaptable to the desert. When you continue walking south alongside a drainage channel parallel to Buchanan Drive there is a substation. You want to continue south between the substation and drainage channel while being attentive to branches. You will enter the south segment. You want to turn right where a shady walkway leads to the idyllic bench and playground. This is the perfect spot to breath in the crisp pine tree air and live in the moment. Now that all the stress has been released you will want to retrace your steps back. In my opinion being stressed out is a decision. In the future when I feel that I am about to become stressed I will strive to make the decision to escape to a little Xanadu like Xeriscape.

Unfortunately this year, I worked instead of partaking in the festival. However, mentally my mind is very close to the Art in the Park as I write my review on a diminutive, pretty pocket park close to the site of Art in the Park. It is Sun Dial Park.     This pocket park is named after the sun dial in the center. In spite of this, the point of concentration is the Boulder City Big Horn Sheep Mural. This mural is a popular photo spot in the Boulder City Historic Business District. Psychologically it serves as a "Welcome to Boulder City" monument.     It is tremendously easy to confuse Sun Dial Park with Frank Crowe Park. The residential Birch Street separates the two sister parks. If I overlooked the sign, I would likewise believe that it is part of Frank Crowe Park. With that said, I would recommend checking out the Frank Crowe Park Yelp listing. But, before doing that I would recommend continuing along with this review. And from here, it discusses Sun Dial as a park by itself and as a component in a downtown walk. This walk is based on my first hand experiences as part of an annual Railroad Pass to Art in the Park hike, as part of a downtown walk, and numerous visits.      As a park by itself, I rate it three stars. It is a transition spot between the autocentric Nevada Way and the walkable downtown. From my observations, the main amenities are the open grass, benches, mature trees, big horn sheep mural, and sun dial. My main activity here has been pausing on the shady bench overlooking the sun dial.    My logic for taking long to write this review is that by itself it is a tiny park. I decided on four stars because it is one of the points of interest on a downtown Boulder City walk including Jim Crowe Park, Reflections Center, Lake Mead Overlook, Wilbur Square Park, and the Historic Business District that is cumulatively is a great experience. Here is a description of this walk. I started off with coffee in downtown's Dam Roast House and then walked a short distance to the southwest periphery where Sun Dial Park is. Here, in this safe and clean pocket park, I relaxed sitting on a shaded bench overlooking the sun dial. From there I passed through the contiguous Frank Crowe Park and onto the historic residential streets that remind me of Heritage Street in the Clark County Museum. They would lead me to Reflections Center. After taking in the sculptures and the Red & Black Mountain vista, I rejoined the residential streets back to Nevada Way at the northeast preiphery of downtown. I would take a short out and back walk to the Boulder City Lake Mead Overlook. Then I would walk back to the downtown where I sat on a bench in Wilbur Square Park (where Art in the Park is held) overlooking the Historic Business District where the hike concluded. Recently I complemented the walk with lunch in Tony's Pizza. Therefore, I give Sun Dial Park four stars in lieu of three on account of real life experiences of where it has been a component amungst components that make up a four star downtown Boulder City walking experience.

I grew up in Vegas and have been on this river a ton by boat, and I've also hiked to both Gold Strike and Arizona Hot Springs. Those hikes are super rewarding but honestly brutal. This experience was completely different in the best way. Being able to get out of the river and be steps away from hot springs was amazing, and the views from the water are hands down the best. We met the team bright and early at 5:30am for launch, and everything was super smooth. They shuttled us, got us fitted for life jackets, handled waivers, and gave a quick safety rundown. Launch timing is strict because of the park service, but they made it feel easy and not stressful at all. Definitely be on time, though, because due to this strict timing, they will leave without you. The kayaks were such a game-changer. They were longer touring kayaks with foot-controlled rudders, dry storage, and actual back support. Super comfortable for me and somehow also worked great for my 6'2" husband (he had a larger boat). Since it was just the two of us, our guide Holmes customized the whole day to our pace. He took us to hidden spots I had never seen before, even as a local, and helped us avoid crowds. We did some hiking, rock scrambling, used ropes at Boy Scout Canyon, and explored hot springs that you can only get to from the river. It felt adventurous but still very safe, and he gave great tips the whole time. He also knew so much about the area. History of the Hoover Dam, plants, wildlife, etc. I learned a ton - even as someone who felt familiar with the area. This is exactly why I'm glad we didn't just rent kayaks. Having a guide made it feel like a next-level experience. We got to relax more while he handled the route and found the best spots. We got lucky with perfect early April weather. No wind, super glassy water, and we could see fish deep in the water. The 12 miles honestly felt way easier than expected, especially with how well Holmes guided us through the current so we could just float and chill a lot of the time. They also packed a great lunch, snacks, and plenty of water. You really just need a sun shirt, hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, water shoes, and sunscreen. They take care of the rest. Even though we leaned a little more adventurous, I could totally see this being doable for beginners, too. You don't need to be super athletic to enjoy it. Pickup and cleanup were easy and seamless. They handled everything while I grabbed a snack and relaxed, which honestly made it feel even more special. This was such a cool experience, and I would 100% do it again. Already recommending it to friends, and I would definitely consider doing the overnight version next time.
