Amazing park for toddlers who love to run around, it's really nice early in the morning but it does get pretty packed during lunch time and after 5pm. The park is always well maintained, and the doggie bags always replenished and the playground kept up. I did get a splinter for wearing sandals so remember closed toe shoes. read more

Love my local small hike! If you are looking for a 30-45min hike that will get your heart pumping, then look no further. Exploration peak's up and down hike is roughly 1mi/226ft of elevation from the parking lot and 1.3mi/320ft of elevation if you did the loop. For the loop, I recommend going clockwise because I always found it hard to find where to go down if I did anti-clockwise. There is a covered sitting table at the mid point of the hill and another one on top of the hill. There are lots of available dirt paths for you to explore your own hike! Definitely wear lots of sunscreen and sun cover! At the top you can see the strip, it has a nice view. My dog always loved the breeze up there. Path is a scramble mostly though so definitely recommend wearing hiking shoes for extra grip. read more

Lots of play structures and slides, sand area, wall climbing, slide that goes through a tunnel, splash pad area, open grass area, picnic tables with shade. Grass area is so green and well maintained! This is a vast playground with a western-theme. Several structures resemble a building, such as assessor's office and hotel, with lots of space to run around and/or climb. This is incredibly ideal for an energetic child with plenty of energy to expense and/or out-of-town visitors looking for a unique and free children activity. Every play area is well-maintained and clean. There is a tall structure in the back to climb up and get a nice view of the whole playground. Next to the structure is a small rock climbing wall and a semi-large sandpit with a huge snake and reptile. The parking lot had plenty of spaces and we did not have difficulty to find a spot even though it was fairly busy. However, the bathrooms were not the most ideal and it was somewhat dark. read more

My daughter (9yo) loves this park and it is only about 15 minutes from our house. It is themed like an old Western Town with a stage coach, and buildings which look like a frontier town. There are ample shaded pavilions with picnic tables, man made hills to play on and a "mountain" about 350 higher than the park with hiking trails. The bathrooms are extraordinarily clean for a public park and include changing stations. It is very hot and sunny in the play area so be sure to bring plenty of water and sun block. The parking is good during the week and there is overflow parking on side streets when the lot is full. As always, keep your eyes on your kids and have a secret word test only you and your child know in case someone tries to spirit them away. read more

Love that we have so many trails to choose from in Vegas! PATH TO THE TOP / REWARD: Exploration Peak Park has one goal - get you to the top where you're rewarded with a beautiful 360 degree view of Vegas - and many paths to get there (moderate or steep). TERRAIN: The trail does have loose rock, so make sure you wear proper shoes with enough grip. PAVED: For those who prefer a less rocky, more even path, there is also a nice relaxing paved path. DISTANCE / DURATION: The unpaved path is about 2 miles total from the base to the top and back. It takes around 40 minutes total, conservatively. I haven't yet done the paved path but will update my review if / when I do :) PLAYGROUND: Exploration Peak Park also has a huge playground for kids. So if you're looking for a place for the kids to run around, this is perfect for them. It's super cute and has a lot to do. PARKING: There's a parking lot with plenty of free parking right as you enter the park. OVERALL: Definitely keeping on my list of "go-to for hikes/walks"! read more

This is a fantastic park for kids and adults who still act like kids. From the massive jungle gym to the slides, the sand pit and walking trails; there are tons of things to do here. My kids especially loved the western themed slide area and the swings. We had to literally rip my daughter off of her swing and drag my son off the rocks behind the sand pit. After an hour of playing, my son and I decided to climb the hill behind the playground. We took the short route and scaled straight up the steep side of the mountain. He's only 5 and still hoofed it up there with ease. Me on the other-hand, I was breathing like Tony Soprano after devouring a tray of gabagool. I don't live in Vegas anymore, but if I did, this would be a weekly must visit for our family. Let's get those kids tuckered out! read more

This is a beautiful park that has so many things for kids to enjoy. Lots of parking. The ambiance is relaxing. It's well maintained and extremely clean. When my family visited there were a few birthday celebrations taking place at the multiple cabanas. There are swings, several dirt play areas and multiple slides. Tons of grass and a clean restroom! One of the best parks in Las Vegas. Has a small hiking mountain, an a long walking trail. It's the one of few parks that has a ton of green grass. This park is great for taking photos, going on long walks cause the walking trail goes around the entire park, and it's big enough that it's never overly crowded. It's always clean, and have been going to this park for over 10yrs and have zero complaints. Also has a small water play area for kids. read more

This Mountain's Edge Regional Park is located in Enterprise (South West) near 160. The highlight of this park was the trail to the top of the hill. It is about a 45 minute walk go up and down. You can see the whole view of the Strip! It would be even more amazing at night time, sparking like stars. :) There is a huge field for a picnic with friends or play with kids. There are many dogs as well. Just one thing, the public bathroom (women) next to the parking lot needed some maintenance as the floor was all wet and lots of trash. (It was President Day so the park was crowded) it was a perfect day with my dog as well!! I will definitely be back. read more

It's a super fun park. They allow dogs. They have tons of events there. I love going to the farmers market and I recently went to a movie night on the lawn there. The boys I nanny absolutely loved it and got to look at puppy's you could adopt and play games with other kids. I just wish they had more food trucks at the movie night event. The large grassy area was very roomy to spread out and play several types of outdoor games. It was nice to see parents accompanying their younger kids around the playground. It's playground area is old west/pioneer themed. like in the days when they had small newly developed towns, that always seem to have a Hotel, a saloon, a general store, a sheriff station, a water tower and road around on horseback & horse drawn wagons. The playground has slides, wall climbing, sliding poles, a climbing tower & theres a part of the playground where kids can climb and run on, that resembles the surrounding mountains. There's a nearby splash pad, where the water comes out of an old Timey water tower. Tons of seating & tables, security patrols, volleyball court, walking trails, restrooms, a water fountain and leveled/hilly fields to play in. Perfect for kids, adults and dogs alike. read more

Whether you're in need of a good hike or an excellent playground for the kids, this is definitely the spot! We did the hike up the hill twice and oh man, my thighs were burning! There are also several trails, including an easy family/dog friendly way to climb up. The views at the top are amazing...the whole valley and the strip can be seen and there is plenty of shade and seating to rest once you get up. Then there is the playground...simply the best for kids!! It's all western-ghost town theme with several unique slides and a rock climbing wall. Also the first park I've found swings at for the kids since moving here. The parking lot gets five stars too. An abundance of spaces making this area very accessible. read more

There are a handful of elements that keep folks returning to the park: THE PEAK: the focal point is the 2,846-foot-high peak, lined with various trails depending on your fitness level. At the top is a concrete compass staging area complete with informational boards on the mountains and the city itself. Dog friendly. GRASSY AREA: the luscious green grass just makes my heart happy in the desert landscape. PAVED WALKWAY: along the perimeter of the park is a paved winding walkway. Dog friendly. I remember when this park first opened and I haven't been back till the other day so it has been years. This park has become absolutely gorgeous. All of the trees have grown so big and providing serious shade. The grassy areas are huge and vast with lots of room to picnic, roll around on the grass, play a game of tag or just find a tree and lay under it lazily. I was here for a class on growing herbs with my friend who lives in the area. The class was held at the children's western play area under a shaded area. There were about 15 of us in the class and it was quite informative and we built our own herb planter box. Apparently, when you live in Mountains Edge there is a community email that invites residents and friends to participate in classes. I believe this class was sponsored by Star Nursery. There is a splash pad for the little ones to get wet and all kinds of picnic tables in various parts of the park. There are multiple walking trails and there is a mountain to climb for some epic views of the LV Valley, Henderson, Sunrise Mountain, and other sites. I did not climb the mountain this visit as it was already toasty outside and figured I would come back in the early, early morning to hike it or wait for the season to change to fall. Lots of activities going on all around the park. I saw people setting up to picnic, people hiking the mountain, qi gong being practiced in the grassy areas, runners, walkers, dogs, kids everybody was out. I have definitely found a new park to love and this one is it! read more

When I used to live in Mountains Edge, I would pass by this park twice or more every day for years. When my granddaughter started asking to go to "the park," I decided to stop by and take a look for her. Of all the parks on the westside, this is one of the best and most extensive for children. Lots of children frequent it on the weekends, which is great for my granddaughter to interact and socialize. I highly recommend this park, as it offers many activities, from hiking to a vast array of activities for children. read more

So far our favorite park. My 3 year old had a blast here. I could totally see us spending a few hours and a picnic lunch. There are some families who hosted birthdays but even then, the play areas are huge so there's plenty of space to run and play. Slides, structures, swings, everything you need. I love that they have play structures in all sizes. My 3 year old took his time exploring through them all. There seems to be some trails and people hiking, we haven't checked that out. The only thing I will say though is the bathrooms aren't great read more
