UPDATE: 8/09/2026 -- In response to the owner's comment: Your response makes it clear that you did not fully understand my original review, which unfortunately reflects the same communication issue I experienced while trying to book an appointment. I went back and forth attempting to schedule for weeks and tried to book on three separate occasions. When I finally called and someone answered, there was a significant communication barrier, and the call ultimately ended with the person hanging up on me. You're correct that I've never received a service at your salon--but that is precisely the point of my review. I repeatedly tried to become a customer and was unable to successfully book an appointment. My review is about the customer service and booking experience I personally received. If your salon is so heavily booked that you are unable to accommodate new clients, I completely understand. However, potential clients should simply be told that upfront rather than spending weeks attempting to schedule an appointment that is never confirmed. Professionalism begins before a customer ever walks through the door, and unfortunately, my experience trying to become a client was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere.

So I'm a hairdressers worst nightmare...don't get haircuts cuts often, never gone to the same hairdresser twice (even when i have liked my hair), not the fun chatty client who doesn't want to pay for therapy sessions (I'm the magazine reader). I don't want to spend time a lot of time fussing with my hair yet I expect it to magically look great on its own. I don't even know how to style with a blow dryer. The last time I went a hairdresser (which I bravely confessed to Sharon) was September (meaning last September). She took it well, there was no fainting involved. It was in Austin, so I relied on Yelp to find a place in Houston and stumbled on to H3. So this place is in a nice building in the Montrose area WITH A PARKING LOT (big plus since I am incompetent when it comes to parallel parking). This is an appointment only place so I was all by my lonesome which I liked. Sharon was attentive and didn't just listen to what I wanted or didn't just give me advice, we had a conversation. I told her what I have done in the past and what I had in mind. She gave her opinion (in a non-pushy way) and also explained her reasoning. Sharon is bubbly and super nice and as she was cutting my hair, lo and behold, I became that chatty client and couldn't stop myself. So here I was talking, as if I've known her for years and next thing I know she's all done. I loved it..exactly what I wanted.. and have finally developed a loyalty to a hairdresser which "conveniently" happens now that I'm getting ready to move! But I've already decided Sharon is my "go-to-girl" (I just have to "go" a lot further than planned). My cut and color was only $120 which was less than half of what I paid many moons ago at the salon in Austin. Note: When you call, leave a message there is no receptionist to answer the phone and it seems like the hairdressers are only present if they have an appointment. Also they don't have a credit card machine so come with cash or a checkbook. So finally, (in full Oscar Award style) I would like to thank yelp for helping me find a hair salon I freakn love and also God (cause you always have to thank God right?), oh and my mama if she's reading this..actually anyones mama will do. read more

Let me start by saying that Hillary and Megan are both a total GODSEND! A couple weekends ago I was in a total panic, hours before a wedding, because my hair appointment at another salon had vanished into thin air. I literally wandered into The Parlour (after closing, mind you), after having no luck with countless salons across town on a Saturday evening, to find these two angels more than happy to help a girl out. Thank goodness they weren't willing to let me leave looking like the hot mess I came in as, and agreed to do a wash, blow dry, and style. I imagine they were ready to go home (or to happy hour) and enjoy their Saturday night, but instead they stayed late to help not just a stranger, but a stranger with a TON of hair (seriously y'all, my mop is a TASK). They even poured me a glass of wine to calm my frantic ass, and teamed up to style my hair at the same time together to make sure I got out of there on time. The fact that my hair also looked and felt freakin fabulous was just icing on the cake. If you're looking for a stylist in the loop that is both kind AND talented, look no further than Hillary or Megan at The Parlour. I will be coming back again, and again, guaranteed. Thanks again!!! read more

I had been going to a salon in clear lake for about 10 years until they started raising their prices to over $200 for a partial highlight and leaving with my hair wet. I started doing some research and asking around, and I was referred to The Parlour. This salon is exactly what I was looking for: courteous staff, nice inside, and reasonably priced. I met with Shelbi who did a great job on my cut, color, and style! Also, she took the time to discuss with me about what I was looking for in a hair dresser and ended up being better than anyone I had gone to before. For example, I told Shelbi that my favorite part of getting my hair done is the "scalp massage" when my hair is being washed. Shelbi took that information and went above and beyond just washing my hair. Each time I go into see her, she shows me the same courtesies as she did in my first visit and exceeds my expectations! In my most recent visit, the salon hired someone who does chair massages (for a small fee) while your hair is processing!!! THE BEST IDEA EVER!!! Anyways, if you are looking for a new stylist or salon take my advice and go see Shelbi at The Parlour! read more

Leidi, (my favorite stylist in the whole world) moved from Soak to H3. Obviously I followed her and will continue to hunt her down where ever she goes. She is without a doubt the best. I lost track of her for a while and am ecstatic to have found her again. I have super thick hair and often have trouble finding people to tame it and thin it - usually people end up making me look like a q-tip with a mullet. LUCKILY, I've got Leidi. She is a hair freaking genius. She has taken my hair from long to short and inbetween and back - The best part is when I decided to go short with a super adorable short style then went back to long (I'm fickle) she helped me to grow it back out ... continuing to cut it so I never have that weird awkward growing out stage. In addition to cutting, she's an amazing stylist. She has curled my hair and given me super sexy bombshell blowouts or sleek straight looks. More often than not I go to her for a cut and tell her to "just make me pretty". And she ALWAYS does. I love that I can say "do whatever" and am never disappointed. I like H3, her new location, its cute and eclectic. read more

As a guy, walking into a salon can sometimes feel a little out of place--but that has never been the case at The Parlour. From the moment I first walked in, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. The front desk staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They treat every guest with the same level of care and respect, no matter who you are. The environment they've created is something special. There's always a great energy in the air--music playing, people laughing, and the decor is always on point. They host festive themed setups and little celebrations all the time, which adds a really fun, positive vibe to the space. It makes you feel like you're part of a community, not just stopping in for a service. I've never once felt out of place or unwelcome, and I truly appreciate the inclusive, upbeat atmosphere the team works so hard to maintain. Megan is my stylist and I have been going to her for about 7 years now. Even when I had a hairdresser I really liked, I never got complimnents on my hairstyles. And even though I asked to have some fun styles, I never seemed to get them, so I didn't think they were possible. The first time I went to Megan, I told her what I wanted and told her I thought it wasn't possible, and she showed me I was wrong. She is an incredibly talented stylist--not only with cut and style but with color as well. In fact, a lot of times now I just let her do whatever she wants. I had to start carrying her cards in my purse because I was literally being stopped everywhere by total strangers wanting to know who did my hair. She is AMAZING! I would be lost without her! Also, I recently used Cathleen Clancy for waxing. She's very professional and did a great job. I've made a follow up appointment with her too. And don't forget to use Holly for a spray tan. HOLLY! That is all you need to know! Why do you think they call is H3? That first H is HOLLY. The second H is really HOLLY, too. The third, well, HAIR! She is awesome. Cute, hilarious, talented, and patient. (With me, that last one means a LOT!) Ok, I am almost 50 years old (cuh-cack!) and I struggled for years in various cities finding someone, ANYONE who could cut my hair. Years of searching for a stylist that would LISTEN to me, consider my life style, look at MY head of hair, and take care of the rest. HOLLY is IT! I even swore to all who would hear, that I would NEVER color my gray hair (starting at age 16, you get used to it.) I finally gave in, but I only trusted HOLLY. I LOVE IT! My husband tells me I look 10 years younger! Worth every penny! I am so dedicated that when I moved from Bellaire to The Woodlands, I still only see her for every trim, cut, or color. I had a few reservations when I first arrived due to the fact that it is located in an large industrial building but my opinion suddenly changed when I walked in. The salon is very modern with a calming and relaxing feeling. Definitely a great atmosphere. My appointment was with Shelbi, who was interning at the time, and now has her own chair. She did an absolute amazing job on my hair. She spent time listening to what I wanted and did exactly so. I could not have been happier with the experience! Sharon was so friendly, easy going, and genuine. I totaled my car in a snowstorm outside Boston at the start of March, an accident, not a choice, not something I scheduled around a hair appointment for fun. While I was busy figuring out how to get to a meeting in Minneapolis and my car 3,000 miles home, a hair appointment didn't fit into that equation on any level. I didn't get my usual reminder text before the appointment, like I always do so that at least I would've had a reminder to let them know what happened to me. I did get a voicemail DAY OF, half of which transcribed before cutting off, a name I didn't recognize, sounding exactly like the other 100 spam calls I get daily. I ignored it. Forgive me for not intuiting that it was salon-related while dealing with a totaled car in another state. When I finally went back in, I apologized, showed them photos of my car wrecked in snow, taken just days before the missed appointmen and still got handed a $98 cancellation FEE for an accident I didn't cause and couldn't have predicted. A lifetime of getting my hair done, never once missing an appointment without calling until that day, this was a first. Fine. I paid it anyway. Full brown, gray showing through, at closing time, with Casey telling me she would fix it.The blowout was its own insult. I started paying $15 extra for flat-iron because I travel and needed it to last, not because the blowout itself was ever the problem. I have years of photos proving she could do a smooth blowout with zero flat iron involved. This time, paying extra for the upgrade, I got a blowout that didn't survive three hours, it was a frizz bomb. From the time I started using the flat iron to make my blowout last for work is the time she forgot how to do blowouts. Checkout was $358, about $150 over my normal total, because the $98 fee got folded silently into the bill, and I tipped on the entire thing without realizing it. Let me be very clear: I will tip generously on service. I will not, ever, knowingly tip on a FEE charged to me because of a car accident that wasn't my fault. There was no service in that FEE. There was no styling, no skill, no time in the chair, just a charge for missing an appointment I forgot about while dealing with a totaled vehicle 3,000 miles from home. When I called to ask for that specific gratuity be refunded, not the fee, just the tip stacked on top of it, I was told the stylist "gets the fee and the tip," like I was trying to take money out of her pocket. I wasn't. I was correcting an honest mistake on a bill I wasn't paying close attention to after a stressful, exhausting day. Their response was to call back and inform me they no longer wanted me as a customer. When I texted asking if my color could at least be corrected, I was met with silence. My hair is brown at this very minute trying to figure out how to come up with $200 more to fix the problem they created. And then my sister went in. I didn't warn her off, she'd had a hard time finding a stylist and didn't want to lose her appointment, and that's her call to make. Casey, the stylist, told her that her hair was greasy, hair that is dry, porous, and curly, and has never been oily a minute in its life. Along the way, the stylist told her she needed to brush her hair, as if she just rolled out of bed and came into the salon. It didn't need to be brushed, her hair is DRY, PORUS and CURLY, not unbrushed. Proceeding to her own color, my sister tried to explain what she actually wanted, light brown hair but while reiterating that to make sure it was done, Casey sneered, 'Is this going to be a Nickolle thing?' Keep my name out of your mouth. You don't get to talk about me like that while taking $400 from my sister. ANYWAY. The result: my sister wanted lighter. She left darker, with at least three colors woven in including the purple she specifically paid to have removed, and gray still very much present and accounted for. $400, and somehow the hair went the opposite direction of every single thing she asked for. They offered to let her come back in and put a small amount of highlights. As if, she's not letting anybody from that salon touch her hair ever again. Free or not. No thanks. Two appointments, two completely botched results, and a staff that responds to legitimate complaints by firing the customer instead of fixing the work. Disgusting.

I…read moregot my hair done here for a wedding on a Saturday morning and I requested a cute little half up , down style and showed a photo. The hair was to be fully pulled up and tied together with curls. The stylist made the curls and pinned the hair on my left side and partially pinned some hair on the right but didn't tie it together. It was a really weird hair style and she did it all in 35 mins which was fine but it wasn't what I asked for. Nice but for what she did she charged $90! This is insane for a style only with very minimal complexity. Negative star for not getting what I asked and for being overpriced for what I got.
