While I'd advise you to slip staying in the hotel where this restaurant sits, the restaurant itself (and the other one downstairs, fleeting) were bright spots in an otherwise lackluster hotel stay. We enjoyed breakfast here a few days. The service is fantastic (we saw Miranda a couple times and she made us feel like regulars, remembering our order and offering some sight seeing tips), all staff was friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is well done, with a Mediterranean influnce. We enjoyed the shakshuka (highly reco you add the kefta and ask for oven bread instead of the sourdough) and the Turkish eggs (also reco asking for the oven bread with this one), both dishes were flavorful and well executed (and we try shakshuka everywhere we see it!) We also had evening snacks one night and enjoyed the hummus with the mushroom add on and some of their signature drinks. Staff In the evening was also strong and didn't disappoint. If we ever find ourselves back in Sav we won't stay at the hotel Thompson but we will stop into Bar Julian!

The food was outstanding--every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the ingredients and the execution. The drinks were just as impressive, creative and perfectly balanced. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome without ever being overbearing. This place nails the full experience--great food, great atmosphere, and top-tier service. We'll absolutely be back and highly recommend it to anyone in the area or visiting from out of town.

We said it looked like a bank previously, there were height numbers by the front door and the place felt open. Then the very nice server Chandler confirmed that it was a bank previously in the 60's and it still had original tile! So cool! The seating was comfy and loved that they had lounge areas with sofa and chairs. Chandler mentioned that we had to check out the vault by the bathroom. So we did. We had drinks there and they were well made and tasted great. We were bummed about them being out of the cinnamon roll for the table, but we got the French Toast instead and we weren't disappointed. It was probably the best French Toast we ever had! Kudos to whoever made this! It was light and airy like a doughnut. Then stuffed with ricotta, topped with peaches & granola, but that maple butterscotch sauce that it was sitting in was DELICIOUS! My friend almost licked the plate! Chandler even offered it to her. Ha! I'm already looking forward to my next visit! It'll be one of the first stops in Savannah!
