It's always a great time here! The food and the service is always incredible! And I really enjoy the darker atmosphere. Low lighting is definitely appreciated for me since my eyes don't tolerate overly bright light too well. I had the S'mores Old Fashioned cocktail to start and it's now a new favorite. It was smokey and sweet, but not over the top and it came garnished with mini torched marshmallows. Not pictured is the steak nachos, loaded potato skins, and giant pretzel. We couldn't wait to try it all so sadly we failed to snap a few pictures of the appetizers lol. All I have to say is that they were exceptional! The Parlor is a nice place--clean and well-renovated. However, if you're a sports fan, you might be disappointed. Despite having seven televisions, they don't pay much attention to major sports events. When I visited, Monday Night RAW, racing on FanDuel, and college golf were on, even though the NBA playoffs, Stanley Cup playoffs, and 19 baseball games were on television. Four TVs were showing tag, and three were showing parkour. It's a great spot for a drink and the food was above average bar food, but not the best for catching your favorite sports games. We'd like to return for the world series, but we're not sure it will be televized. Maybe call your partners at Flowing Tide, ask one of the girls what they're watching. They can help. Don't be afraid to ask for help. When we asked for baseball or basketball we were told. "We aren't allowed to touch the televisions. Only one person is, and this is what they like. " WOW, later. We wanted to try someplace new for dinner! And The Parlor popped up in the feed as someplace to try. The friends who were joining us wanted to get there during happy hour so that we could take advantage of the drink and appetizer specials. We arrive and the first thing we noticed is that the air conditioning was not doing its job. We commented on it the waitress said that the A/C wasn't working very well and that it wears 86 degrees in there and that the staff was using the walk in to cool off. It didn't seem too bad at first since we just came in from the 100 degree outdoors, but after awhile it started getting warmer. Especially when more patrons arrived. Now to the food. We ordered a couple of the Fruity Mules for a cocktail. They were delicious! We ordered the short rib tacos and potstickers as appetizers. The Short rip tacos were to die for. The potstickers were tasty, but definitely not something they make in house. Two of us ordered the Caesar Salads with Shrimp that came with this interesting "crispy egg". I felt that they could have given them more than 3 shrimp each. But overall they said it was tasty. Another diner has the Victoria. Burger with tots and I had the Steak Sandwich which was tasty. I had the salad with it with balsamic dressing which was tasty as well. All in all we had a good dinner. One demerit for the A/C being on the fritz. Our group's first time here and we were very pleased--with the service, the menu, the decor and vibe and especially the food! It isn't often that a group of 11 seniors has no complaints! Our waitress was outstanding--friendly, super efficient with not a single mistake on our orders. Portions were large, food came out hot, salads were crisp and larger than expected. several of us ordered the fish and chips--the largest portions of battered cod I've seen in Reno and the fries were crescent shaped and not greasy! Delicious! The coleslaw was okay but not memorable. One of my table mates ordered the shortribs which she loved (they smelled fantastic!) another ordered the beet salad and the coconut shrimp, both of which were large enough to ask for a go box. Sandwiches were enormous and came with fries. We got there early enough to order our alcoholic drinks on happy hour but receive them with dinner. Although they do not take reservations, they let us select a table who were about to leave, put a "reserved " sign on it to make sure we got it after it bc was clean and set up with water and utensils. We really appreciated that since the restaurant was filling up quickly. Another very important thing was that dirty dishes were quickly removed and beverages refilled often. We were asked if anyone wanted dessert, which we said no until our waitress recommended the bread pudding served with ice cream and cool whip. A large serving of a very delicious warm bread pudding arrived with multiple spoons so we could share. Imagine our surprise when we received separate checks, almost unheard of for large groups!, and no extra charge for a large group! So, yes, you can say that we will definitely return! read more

Came in with coworkers on a Saturday night. we were seated right away in a corner booth with was very cozy and perfect for a group. We started with a couple order of fries and dipping sauces. The Aioli was so good! I wish i could bottle it up and take it home! I ordered the Starry Night spring cocktail and it was so light and refreshing! For my meal I ordered the ciabatta melt with tomato bisque. However, on the waitress's recommendation I subbed the ciabatta for sourdough. It was soo good. We had a girls happy hour here and all five of us loved it. Nice big booths for us to socialize and fit all our jackets, purses, etc. The drinks were amazing (get the raspberry lemon drop) and we enjoyed the coconut shrimp and short rib tacos. The Parlor looked a lot better on Yelp than it actually was. The decor and ambiance was okay. It was pretty dead for a Saturday night, 8:30pm. DRINKS: The "rotating" tap situation was sort of sad. Nothing special on tap. They had a short cocktail menu and I ordered their lemon drop cocktail. It was super tart, of course, and a little too sweet. FOOD: we ordered the coconut shrimp, deep fried pickles, and beet salad. My Fiance said the food reminded him of a glorified chilis (eek). The coconut shrimp were good, but the sauce they served with it was like marmalade and way too sweet. The shrimp themselves were good plain, nice and crispy. The deep fried pickles were huge spears. Not what we were expecting. I prefer the deep fried pickle slice style personally. The beet salad was good, but nothing special. It had a vinaigrette style dressing, gold and red beets, goat cheese, and pistachios. This place is on the outskirts a bit. I would only go here if you want something late night because it's 24/7. Parlor your typical neighbourhood bar for Reno. We went specifically to sit at the bar, gamble and enjoy a meal. With $100 in video poker drinks and food will be comped. Bartenders were great, very friendly and attentive. We shared the nachos, which were ok. We probably should have explored the menu more - didn't really take advantage of the comps. Drinks were good as well. Really nice selection of beers - eight or so taps with local crafts being poured. Nice place for South Reno - we'll be back but don't know if we'll be regulars. What had been the best little bar and grill apparently went south in the last 2 months. The food used to be amazing.the service used to be amazing and now, the staff is lazy and seem bothered they are working. The burgers which my gal and I used to order almost weekly is now just a burned outside and raw center. The fries we swore by are now soggy flavorless sad potatoes. This was literally our favorite place until 2 months ago. Not sure what happened, but after 5 terrible meals in a row, we are done.
