The paramount is an awesome spot for concerts on long island. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. It's in a central location surrounded by bars and restaurants. There is a main pit with a small amount of seating but the venue is tiny so no matter where you sit you are extremely close to the stage! I've waited in line for barricade many times and it's very safe! the barricade is also super close to the stage which is nice. There's minimal food options once you get inside but there are three large bars that make it easy to get drinks! drinks are moderately priced for music venue. I would definitely recommend concerts here. read more

Went to the Paramount last night with two other friends to see the Gin Blossoms and for each of us it was by far the worst concert experience we have ever had. The volume was PAINFULLY, PAINFULLY LOUD. My friend's phone app recorded a decibel level of 103 which is described as a very loud sound level that can cause hearing damage with relatively short exposure times. When the first band the Mercury's (they are horrible) were playing we and many others had to leave our seats and escape to the bar outside of the seating area space because we could not take the unbearable LOUD noise. I asked one of the ushers why it was so loud and he had no answer but another very sweet and sympathetic usher offered me earplugs which I gladly accepted; she also said it was unbearable. When I saw her later and thanked her again she said even Metal (I guess she's into Heavy Metal) is nowhere close to how loud the music was last night. When the Gin Blossoms came on, it wasn't much better and it's unfortunate because I do really like their music. Besides the volume being deafeningly loud, the sound quality was terrible. Of course how could it not be at 103 decibel level and it was also really bad despite that. I looked today at some other reviews for the Paramount and this is not just a problem that my friends and I experienced. I blame the Paramount and the Gin Blossoms, someone has to be in charge to make sure the volume is at a level other than completely painful and deafening. I guess they have played for so many years at these deafening levels that the band members are deaf and they don't realize how loud it is to everyone else around them. Nice venue for LI. Decent prices for the shows. Been here for various bands but came recently for a comedian. The space they give you to sit is SUPER tight and chairs very uncomfortable. Great local community venue that hosts various concerts and events. You wouldn't necessarily think that this location is big in anyway, as its sandwiched into Huntington villages restaurants and shops, until you step through the doors. The ticket box is to the left as soon as you walk in and you can purchase or pickup will call tickets right away. Once through security you walk into a main dance floor, with bars on either side and balcony seating and bar overhead. Recently decided to check out this location for a Tim Reynolds concert. I figured good music on a cold winter night, why not! Many know this famous guitar player from being part of the David Matthew's Band [DMB]. Let's just say I was never a fan of DMB, but I am a fan of great, talented, musicians and that he is. He is so talented, if not in the Music Hall of fame yet, he should get a nod into it. I enjoyed his guitar riffs so much I even decided to buy his CD, that they were debuting that evening. It was like a suito album release party. All staff from door, ticket box, bars and even restroom attendant were very professional and keeping things neat and clean. The drinks are moderately priced and tasted good all evening. All openings bands were a great start to a wonderful evening of great talents displayed. During stage changes they advertised upcoming events on big screens above the stage left and right, which was nice promotion as yes it made me think I should come back for more. There isn't a single thing to change with this location, they really host great talents and ultimately that's what it all about. I'll be back for more this month and hope others do too! read more

I heard beautiful praises of this music venue from friends and last night was my turn to check it myself. Thanks Yelp for the tickets. It was a drive coming from Queens but worth it. Had a wonderful time. Pre- concert draft beer was only $5- awesome. The thing is , drinks are pricey on the concert time- $15 for large cup. The place has a central bar and two small size bar on each side of the main floor plus two large bar on each side inside the concert room. The concert room is big with lounge area , floor standing room and mezzanine level. Music acoustics is good, lightings are okay. Brick walls has the NYC feel. I enjoyed New York Ave and Paramounts big tree viewing from its large glass window. The entire place is neat , modern and dramatically cool. Location is in the heart of the town closed to different shops and dining places. Am I coming back? Definitely yes! read more

Some hardcore funny lines early on quickly devolved into a way, way to long rant about a diysfunctional marriage that didn't seem to resonate with 90% of the audience. Most conservatives don't enjoy or find humor in lying to get stoned behind their spouses' backs, so not sure what his target audience is... Kind of an insult to our intellect for what we paid... endless fart and other idiotic, childish mic noises... would rather see stuff we don't agree with politically thats actually intellectually witty and funny. The place is cool, I don't go to shows quite as much as my downtown NYC trips in the high school days and it's sad. Maybe I don't like spending money. Thanks to yelp and a few mailing lists I've gotten to see a few shows, some were even good. Broken social scene last night was awesome! I feel so lucky that we have the Paramount on LI. Listen, I know a lot of people will have issues with things here, but the fact that we have a moderately small, accessible venue that can pull in such amazing acts is huge. I've seen some of my absolute all time favorite bands here and had some of the best nights of my life, all without having to trek into the city. Anything beyond that is a bonus to me. They have decent beers, which I'm not mad about at all. And now that they opened Spotlight next door, there's a great place to meetup before and after shows, and sometimes even catch live music there too. Saw a concert here. I chose to get tickets with seats. For considerably less you can get standing room. If you choose to do this you have access to a full bar on the main level. My being so tiny this would not have been a good option. On the upper level you have a bar area which was pretty large. The bathrooms on this floor were plentiful and clean. Our seats were fine. It was very very cold in the theater. All in all it's convenient for a local show. read more

I went for a concert. The venue was a nice size and I had a great view in standing room GA. It gets very crowded when arriving and leaving, but that's to be expected. This place might be great for a comedy show, but I would never go again for a concert. It was so loud, but you still couldn't hear anything said into the microphone. Thankfully I knew all the lyrics because I wouldn't have been able to understand a single word. My ears are still ringing from last night. read more

Went to a concert last night to see Girl Named Tom. I cannot believe that this venue allows people to stand in the back of the theater and drink and carry on loudly while a performance is going on that people paid money for. Security was all around and nobody was saying a word. Very disappointing for fans and disrespectful to the artists. I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Went to the Three Dog Night show. Bring an extra layer, the AC and fans were blasting. That aside, no complaints. Easy in and out of venue. I did not partake of the bars/drink service, but they were plentiful. Easy access to restrooms and the restroom had an attendant. I have read complaints about acoustics there, but seemed fine to me. Be aware there is no real parking to speak of, leave extra time to find that. read more

This is a great music venue where there isn't really many options for upper tier acts. It's a great space where I've seen multiple bands play. My only complaints are it's overpriced tickets and lack of better acts. Also the founders room should be open to all not with a special membership which is pricey. The word "Paramount" basically means of great importance. So in calling a show venue "The Paramount" you're hoping the place fills those large, vocabulary shoes. For this Huntington spot, they fill them perfectly. I've seen a number of musical bands at The Paramount so this most recent visit wasn't my first rodeo. I knew what to expect and it didn't disappoint...well, from a venue angle. I was here for a comedy show (scored some free tickets, actually from a different source than many of my Yelp family) and though it wasn't the greatest night I've spent within these walls, the place itself didn't disappoint. Many venues are set up with one open area, stage right ahead, a bar located somewhere behind, and often a cramped setting overall. TP takes this concept and vamps it up wonderfully (minus the cramping). When you walk up the flight of stairs to the main floor, you're first greeted by a circular bar with plenty of TVs all around. This is a nice meeting area or a place to chill between musical acts like I've done in the past. The little beer carts on each side offer up some local craft favorites on tap which is a very nice touch. You'll find two more bars inward when you actually hit the floor of The Paramount. This is a spacious area with plenty of places to stand, offering up a quality view no matter where you choose. Now for this comedy show, the set up was a seating affair. Folding chairs filled the venue floor. Plus, our seats weren't located here. Up we went to the stationary seats that fill in the back section of The Paramount. This was a first time for me, but I have to say the view was still pretty decent. So was the show (especially for the "price", haha). I'd consider sitting up yonder for another event. Overall, The Paramount is a truly awesome venue, especially for it being found on this lengthy island. I'm sure a band or some other performer will make their way here again soon, causing a return trip to this hoppin' spot. Until then, try it out for yourself and fill in the middle of your night out in Huntington with a place that knows it's vocabulary. read more

I don't know how they have very talented musical acts come back more than once after the venue provides this kind of audio experience. The mix is awful, the tuning is just as bad. Bon G. and I went to see Led Zeppelin 2 on Sunday night as a guest of Yelp! Love this venue...The staff is very professional and they are so courteous and helpful for your particular needs. Concert room is perfect size with mezz seating and floor standing room with large bar on one side for quenching thirst during concert. The headliners were fantastic and did the original Led Zeppelin proud. Drummer was outrageous!! Recently hosted a business event there with the Long Island business Council, the Suffolk County Alliance of Chambers and the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce in conjunction with Suffolk County Presiding Officer Rob Calarco to kick off the half way mark of the Toys for Tots 2.0 Campaign. The venue and the staff along with the owners couldn't have been more accommodating. They went out of their way to help small businesses and local merchants. As a Brooklyn native with no personal means of transportation (ie a car), heading out to Long Island for stuff is not a usual case scenario for me. Now I should mention that I've known about The Paramount for a few years now and despite my listing their biggest of events on my PiercingMetal website calendar for support, I had never before been there until the legendary Judas Priest was doing a two-night stint back in 2019. I'm not going to laud the glories of Judas Priest music and speak more about the venue here in this Yelp. The venue is a lovely looking place and offers a spacious GA area and an upstairs balcony. My ticket was for the GA region and that was fine since I had to go in and out of the photo pit as this was a working night for my website. I did want to see what it looked like upstairs but I was not permitted to do so. Apparently the GA folks only get a wristband and no ticket which lessens my collection by one and of course this was not a good thing since I am retentive on my ticket stubs and this was a Priest show and something I wanted in my envelope of past shows. Sigh. In the space where one walks into the GA area, there is a sizable bar and its curtained off from the outside world. This is a good thing if the sun is blazing through since it will be hard to see in the bar. Prices at said bar are commensurate with other places of this kind. They also have two stations serving some pizza and hot pretzels. After the show I noticed they put the unsold pretzels on the counter to be taken by the patrons leaving so I had a snack for the ride home as well. Never a bad thing. I didn't remember a WiFi signal in the place at the time I am adding this Yelp but will say that there is an awesome Spanish food joint almost next door and the Huntington Bar which I enjoyed for sure. Lucky enough to receive comped tickets to see Led Zeppelin 2. This is my second time seeing the band as they opened last year for Aussie Floyd at the venue formerly known as Nikon. Unusually prompt, they took the stage around 8:20, fortuitous because my bar tab only ended up as $10 for a Single 12 ounce IPA! Again, have to recommend the floor over the seating. I stood virtually front row center left stage the entire 2+ hour set. Great set going from electric to acoustic and then back to electric with fury! Lead guitar was insane, especially when he played with a cello bow. Bassist had some equipment trouble and looked pained at times but laid down some great notes. Decent vocalist at times channeling the true Zep spirit. Oh- and that 9 minute drum solo- kicking!! read more

Working 7 days a week doesn't allow for much time outside of adulting and parenting to enjoy concerts and too much leisurely fun. Luckily there's Yelp. I was fortunate to score some General Admission tickets to Prince's band NPG (New Power Generation) performance last night. This venue is located in the heart of the village on New York Avenue. It's a bustling area filled with bars and restaurants. Paramount sits right at the core. There are several municipal parking meters and parking lots, however good luck scoring a spot. This area reminds me of Downtown New Rochelle. I arrived a hour ahead of show time and was able to check in easily with security and Avoid the crowds at the box office. The security guards were very kind and professional. We headed up to the performance stage and enjoyed some $5 Beer Specials before the show. The specials are offered within the first hour before Show Time. Surprisingly the opening act was led by one of my father's band mate's from a few years ago. They were great. When the headliners show began the crowds packed in and everyone started rooting for the band. The sound here was perfection. I was able to film some great parts of the performance with classic Prince hits. I will definitely return for another performance and splurge on some balcony seats. My feet were killing me from standing all those hours. read more

Beware. Venue is beautiful, quality of shows is excellent, sound is good, staff is friendly and professional BUT floor seating is atrocious. Fixed folding chair configuration offers virtually no leg or shoulder room. Saw Time Dillon last night Rick Wakeman last week and was thrilled to have seats in the first 10 rows but the ridiculously cramped seating was so uncomfortable I could not enjoy either show. It seems painfully apparent that the braintrust's primary concern is packing in as many people as possible without any concern for the comfort of the patrons. Ive been a patron of the venue for over 30 years and want to continue to support the arts in my community but ownership/management has made it nearly impossible with their insulting seating design. Paramount...you can and should do better. read more

The venue itself is a very nice space. The space holds up to a great amount of people as you can not really tell the scale of the size from the outside. It has an interesting industrial look and feel. The ushers were helpful guiding everyone to their correct seats. The location is very close to many restaurants in the area, so it's not to far to find a great place to eat. I was here for as an extra guest to a comedy show. The show could have been better. Sad to say I wasn't impressed by the main talent performing, but at least I didn't have to pay for that ticket. So overall, the venue is about 4 stars, but if I had to rate the specific show I would only give it two and a half stars. read more

Fun, local venue. First time attending a show there and enjoyed it! After waking in, we went through a metal detector and put everything from pockets/hand bag in a bin. Tickets were scanned and we were told to put our phone on silent/vibrate and given a pouch to store it. The pouch was locked and if wanting to unlock the pouch and use our phone, would need to come to security. Apparently, the artist can request this for what I assume to be prevention from taking photos/videos. Most seats (folding chairs) were on the floor and some balcony seats too. Bars line both sides of the room and bar/food outside the theatre as well. Great view of the stage and I liked the smaller intimate feel of the theatre. Can't wait to come back! read more

I've seen a few shows here, Korn, a couple of shows I won from Yelp. Honestly I saw a fantastic David Bowie cover that blew my mind. Let's talk venue. Lots of GA space and behind that a small roped VIP area. Behind that an escalated area of seats. VIP seats also line the venue. Sort of like Webster Hall. There are themed rooms in the Foundation Room area but you have to be a member. I've never had a bad time here. It fits nicely in Huntington. Do it with anyone who wants to come with you. read more

This place was great. I came here for a show with my sister. If I lived closer I would definitely come here more. It was a hike for me. I live a couple hours from here, but the show I went to was amazing. Such an intimate, nice venue. The sound was amazing. It was a great place for a show. The parking was easy. I was able to park within a short walking distance from the venue. If there was a band here that I absolutely loved I would probably make the trip back here again. L.I. needs more concert venues like the Paramount. There's really not a bad seat in the house. I'm looking forward to seeing more shows there, and to see an improved lineup. Located on the main strip in Huntington, Doors open early for those who like to enjoy a drink at their spacious bar before the show. And there's plenty of parking and plenty of choice nearby for places to eat or drink. read more

I live three miles from The Paramount. Have been going to shows since they opened. Had tix to see an act (Michelle Wolf - Nov 2022) that got canceled last minute. These things happen - people get sick, shows are undersold etc... Six months later, the venue, artist and the detestable Ticketmaster refuse to provide any refund. So if you want your money stolen, there are more efficient ways to go about it. read more

Man.. Reading the negative reviews about this place makes me question the folks writing the reviews. Over the years when it was the IMAC, I saw some great jazz musicians perform. Now being The Paramount, I welcome both music and stage performances. How cool was it for me to drive into Huntington Village with my family no less and see Chazz Palminteri perform the exact same show that he charged $200 per ticket when it was on Broadway?? I loved the stage, the acoustics and the bare brick walls. I wasn't paying attention to the locals, the bartender or sound problems. Wait a second, they did have a sound problem when the show first started. Who cares?! I was able to jump back in my car after seeing a great show and be home in 40 minutes. Be thankful that you have this venue in Huntington. I want to see Boz Scaggs here! He played in West Hampton and the Hampton word at the end of it bumped the ticket price to $150 per ticket. This is a great modern venue to see a show - Lets do a rundown: Pros: - Large space with usually great views from where ever you are seeing a show - The large wall of windows that overlooks the street - how cool is that? - Large clean bathrooms. The attendant is probably a good idea here people at shows usually get a little "unruly" - Ever notice all the song lyrics written in interesting patterns on the stairway - cool! - Sounds and lighting is usually very good. Cons: - Drink prices tend to be high. Also noticed a couple of bartenders with pissy, indifferent attitudes - not cool. Just because you having a bad night don't take it out on others trying to enjoy theirs! - Not enough seating or places to lean against in the GA space. They have a few bar tables on the side - could use more of these. Lack of seating leads to people sitting on the stairs. RANT Now i know the bands usually arrange the play times, but Paramount management should really give bands advice. For example, I just saw the English Beat (Thanks for the free tickets MusicGeeks - see my LiveNation review ;) ) and they did not start the show until 11pm! 11pm, on a weeknight, on Long Island! You lost 3/4 of your crowd with that alone! LI is an expensive place to live and most of us work in the morning combine that with your last album came out in 1982 putting the majority of your demographic in the 50+ zone = really not knowing your audience! I've been to a couple of shows here like that. Wouldn't these bands rather play to a full room? Put your egos aside - we're all getting older and have responsibilities.
