The Argyle Theater Babylon Friday night performance of Grease. Presentation was enjoyable and entertaining. I personally loved Frenchie and Rizzo. Note bathroom access. (See pix) The one with handicap sign is small with no room even for a small wheelchair. The other one has more room and would be more efficient if signs were switched. They do have seating for scooter or handicap individuals and help to move units to side out of way of other customers getting seats. It was interesting watching the camera man working the camera equipment in the back. Shows change regularly for a local night out check their website. Note lots of places to eat in town. Check corresponding hours and if reservations are required or suggested.

I just want to start off by saying THANK YOU to Mark & Dylan Perlman for taking on this wonderful addition of live theater to my village of Babylon. The theater was intimate, so not a bad seat in the house. I liked that. The lobby staff were friendly and my usher very accommodating. When she realized there were floor seats still available she offered the seats to anyone who wanted to move closer. Thanks! I declined. I loved having the row to myself and my seat was perfect. They also offer snacks & beverages. Including adult cocktails in a can which looked tempting but I had my alcohol fill yesterday LOL. I attended the February 3 showing of Spring Awakening. Powerfully acted! Controversial subjects tempered with great songs. Thoroughly enjoyed it! In short the actors are amazing & the show was quite a thrill ride of emotions. I am so excited at the prospect of going back to enjoy more shows. My only qualm may be that I might not have been as comfortable in my seat if it was a full house. Better seats might be nice. But the show was top notch! That's right! I now have quality live theater around the corner! So come and support Mark & Dylan in this fantastic venture. It was well worth the money spent. 2-3-2019

The Happy Elf (before the show)

I took my son to see Harry Connick Jr.'s "The Happy Elf" on 12/16/18. I have been meaning to check this place out, but tickets are a bit pricey. Fortunately, for the children's theater tickets are $15. A bargain, if you ask me - the perfect price for a nice morning/early afternoon out. It was a bit confusing knowing where to go. Orchestra was directed to go to the left but that was roped off and I stood waiting with a group near one entrance which turns out wasn't the correct one so off to the other side we went. Upon entering the theater, a woman directed myself and my 3-year old to where our seats were. My son climbed up on the set and didn't quite fit. After several minutes of trying to get comfortable, figured he would just sit on my lap when the show started. Apparently they have booster seats but the woman who showed us our seats didn't offer us one...the woman behind me had to tell me they had them where we entered. When I went to get one, there were none left but fortunately a kind soul who wasn't using theirs let me have the one they didn't need. Anyway...onto the show! I was pleasantly surprised at "The Happy Elf". The singing was excellent and the story was fun and a great way to get into the holiday spirit. This being a children's production, it was to be expected that sometimes little ones can be a little loud or not sit still. Fortunately there was a half-time and a little snack bar to the rescue. Little dude picked out pretzels. $3 bag, a bit expensive for a snack sized portion but not crazy-high. I had brought water with us from home which they didn't give me a problem about. My favorite part was being able to meet the cast afterwards and my son getting all of their autographs, great for photo ops. Eubie (the happy elf) was great as well as Molly. I love having something a bit different and not too expensive to do right in my own backyard. I will definitely be purchasing tickets for James and the Giant Peach come March.

My husband and I went to the Argyle Theater last night for the first time. We had a fantastic date night. We went to the Soul of America show and it was great! Had dinner beforehand at a restaurant directly across the street. The Argyle Theater is a hidden gem that I'm so glad I discovered. I've already purchased tickets for the upcoming Motown show.

There were 11 of us, which already made it feel like an event, full of energy, excitement, and a lot of curiosity about what a 4D movie would actually feel like. From the moment we walked in, there was a buzz in the air. None of us really knew what to expect beyond moving seats and special effects, so the anticipation kept building. Like any movie outing, we stopped for snacks, because you can't go to movies without snacks, but wow, they were definitely on the pricey side. Still, we went for it, thinking it would complete our experience. Once the movie started, everything changed. The seats began moving, jolting, and vibrating along with the action, and suddenly it felt like we were part of the movie rather than just watching it. Air bursts, water sprays, and all the unexpected effects made it so exciting, but also a little intense. That's when things got interesting for me and my daughter. About halfway through, we both started feeling a bit of motion sickness . It wasn't anything too bad, but definitely enough to make us sit back and try to steady ourselves while everyone else was still reacting to the action. It became one of those moments where you're half-laughing, but still enjoying the experience. Meanwhile, the whole group was dealing with an entirely different struggle with our snacks. With all the movement, holding onto popcorn and drinks turned into a challenge. Popcorn was flying everywhere, sodas were spilling, and every sudden motion made it worse. At one point, it felt like people were more focused on saving their snacks than watching the movie. The next roll over lost all their popcorn . Honestly, it was hilarious. Even while trying to manage the motion sickness, I couldn't help but laugh at the chaos around us. It quickly became clear: 4D movies and snacks do NOT mix. By the time we walked out, we were all still laughing and talking about everything that happened. It wasn't just the movie, it was the whole experience, from the motion effects to the unexpected moments and the shared laughs. Overall, it was such a fun and memorable outing. Next time, though, we'll definitely go in a little wiser, maybe skip the snacks... and I might think twice before sitting through all that motion again! Lol Absolutely not! I really enjoyed the experience and the movie was enjoyable.

I came here last night with my family for a 7PM showing of Pixar's Hoppers and it was great (both…read morethe movie and theater)! I booked the RPX showing (Theater 10) through their direct website which was glitchy at times. At one point, I kept getting error messages when I was trying to view the available seats and literally nothing would show for any movie. I eventually figured it out and was able to purchase tickets. If you book via their website (make sure you choose the correct location), after checking out they will email you the confirmation which I actually loaded into my Google Wallet app. There was no need to print anything out. There was plenty of free parking as this theater is located inside Tanger Outlets. I was surprised there was no actual staff at the ticket booth (I haven't been to a movie theater in 5+ years!) and just self service kiosks. I was thinking of switching our seats because upon checking the website before arriving, it was showing better seats had opened up. However, I didn't find an option to change seats so I just inputted my code into the kiosk and printed out my tickets. Once you enter the main lobby, the bathrooms are to your right, there are some video games to your left and the center is the concession stand. The concession stand has your typical expensive food and drink items. The line did move kind of slow so keep that in mind and arrive 10-15 minutes before your showing if purchasing food and drinks. After that, the entrance to the different theaters was to the right. The staff member that took our tickets was very nice and told us which direction our theater was. Theater 10 was pretty big, spacious and very clean. The seats (some sort of leathery material) were very comfortable and had a switch you could adjust to recline. Each chair also had a swingable table and cup holder attached. Our seats were off center, right behind the handicapped row but it actually wasn't bad. There was plenty of leg room which I loved. I think even sitting a little higher up would have been good, if not maybe a little better but no complaints! I thought there would have been 15 minutes of previews but it was like 30 minutes of previews/ads. Is that the norm now? Overall though, I had a good experience at this theater and would return in the future.

However, when I finally did see the movie, the theater was filthy. We were in theater 8 and they did not clean the theater from the previous showing. There was popcorn all over the seats. The man sitting next to me had mustard in his cupholder. It was awful. During some of the trailers the sound was muffled or sounded like it was underwater so I ended up with a headache before the movie even started. Overall the ease of changing my ticket was great, but I would not be back. I have never been to a movie theater where it was not cleaned in between screenings before and I pray that will be my last.

They led us through the maze of metal barricades and cones to the viewing area, made sure we were parked appropriately on the lawn, good enough to view the screen perfectly straight on, and helped us to turn all of our lights off. When we weren't able to tune them all off while still listening to the movie audio on our radio, they came around and lent us a portable radio. That way we could turn the car completely off and listen to the movie audio from their borrowed radio. There was also a food stand, but we had dinner beforehand and brought our own snacks, so we didn't order from them. All in all, a pretty awesome experience for the whole family.
