This is a great small theater and they're doing a good job keep up the good work and if people are going to go to a play please practice decorum and behave yourselves so everyone else spending their hard earned money can enjoy it and the actors who work hard can perform to the best of their abilities. THIS is customer service! So, I'm watching my food intake, therefore, I travel with my snacks. I'm at the Argyle Theater with my fabulous Mocha Mom's to see The Happy Elf with the kids. Security says, we're checking bags, and "NO OUTSIDE FOOD. YOU'LL HAVE TO THROW IT AWAY". I'm like.... OH WELL! I'll just seat the kids and take my food back to the car, but I'M NOT throwing it away. As I call a Mocha to come get the boys, I tell security that I have a special diet and can't throw my food away. I can't eat theater snacks. Security man Dan, says 'I'll hold it for you", I'm like.... REALLY??? He says "Yes. I'll put your water, tea and nuts right over here. You can have it at intermission." I said, "but I have a veggie smoothie also". He said, I'll put it in the fridge in the back". I'M LITERALLY BLOWN AWAY. I've been to many theaters and THIS has NEVER happened before. EVER! I know this might not mean much to most of you, and that's ok..... but my FIT FAM knows how important this is. We're always being told to plan our food, bring it with you so you can stay on track. I'm grateful that I won't have to starve for the next 3 hours. The whole theater experience would've really been ruined by THE HANGRY MOM! Thanks Argyle Theater! read more

I saw the "Million Dollar Quartet" last night at the Argyle Theater. I saw this play on Broadway and I will tell you the show is equally as good if not better. The Elvis was better, the Johnny Cash was way better, the Carl Perkins was better, the Sam Philips was better and the Jerry Lee Lewis was almost as good. Sorry the guy in the original Broadway cast won a Tony but last nights guy was close. If you haven't seen this play go see it is off the charts fabulous. The Argyle deserves to pack the house for bringing Broadway to Babylon. I loved it Charlie Watts. read more

My wife and I have seen 'punk rock girl' and 'mamma mia' this year. We enjoyed both and highly recommend this theatre. It's not Broadway, but it is good! Also, ample municipal parking, spacious seats, and a bunch of restaurants to catch a pre-show meal. read more

Saw Legally Blonde tonight at Argyle Theatre in Babylon. I can't believe how GREAT this show was. I loved it so much I actually saw it twice this month! The cast was amazing!! I saw legally blonde at this theater a few weeks ago. It was the best play I ever saw. I have been dragging my kids to NYC to get this culture in their lives and now I just have to go Babylon . The actors and actresses were top notch. The play was excellent. If I could give it 6 stars I would do that. I brought my 12 and 13 year old boys and they were fully entertained. read more

I took my Mom last week to see Million Dollar Quartet. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by friendly smiling staff members, you know the kind of people who actually enjoy their jobs! When we found out the tickets were up a flight of stairs they offered to switch us to downstairs. My Mom was pretty set on these seats so they told us to head up before the crowd. They also have the hearing devices which is also a bonus when I take my Mom to a play. Linda was the cheerful hostess who showed us to our seats and she was also excited about the play and her enthusiasm was contagious! Then I believe it was the owner who came upstairs to say hello and make sure everyone was happy with their seats and helped move a few people to better seats. The entire theater just had such a friendly vibe it was refreshing! The play was great and I've always had a crush on Johnny Cash from listening to him with my Dad on 8 track tapes ! I could tell Linda enjoyed it too because she was dancing in the corner, she was awesome!! We will definitely be going back!! read more

This is Broadway coming to Long Island. Just Saw Guys and Dolls and it was fabulous LIVE theater the staging, actors, performances and enthusiasm was electric and thoroughly enjoyable. We toured the newly renovated theater and it looks fabulous for an 80 year old venue. Strongly recommended for a very enjoyable night out. read more

Wow what a surprise. We just saw Hair Spray and it was terrific. I was a little skeptical since this isn't exactly Broadway but it sure does come close. And you can't beat the location or the price. A wonderful way to spend an evening. The singing and acting were well worth the price of the ticket. read more

After reading the review in Newsday, I was highly skeptical about going Saturday night. So glad I did because every negative that they mentioned in the review must have been fixed because I thought it was great. Sound was great. Actors were great. Had the pleasure of going to the Argyle theater last night to see The Producers. Cant say enough nice things. The acting, music, costumes and staff were GREAT. How fortunate we are to have this in our own backyard! Broadway in Babylon. And NO LIRR trip. Keep up the great work. We will def be back. read more

I really wanted to love this theater, but the show we saw was pretty disappointing. There were 3 or 4 actors that were impressive but the rest of the cast were on par with a high school musical. The stage design was also pretty underwhelming. Fortunately, the tickets weren't too expensive, so I don't feel that bad about losing an hour of my life. I'm hoping it was just the show that was not good, and not an indication of how this theater performs in general. That being said, I won't be back. read more

The Argyle Theater in Babylon Village is wonderful. I saw my first show there this past Friday 12/07 "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" I was so impressed with the quality of the show and how good the actors were. I will definitely be back to see more shows at the Argyle. I loved the show, the stage, the live orchestra.....it was perfect. I live in the Babylon Village and having this magnificent theater in my back yard is great. Save $ on taking LIRR to NYC. My wife and 3 friends all enjoyed the show and the feel of a small theater. I sat on in row C seat 17 and had a great time. Drinks are a little pricey ($11 for glass of wine, not sure about beer) but overall the experience of a small intimate theater and the wonderful performance made my night. Parking was no problem and we had dinner at Mulberry Street. I wish the theater great success and many years of amazing shows like THoND. If i could give this review 10 starts I would. read more

My wife and I recently saw the absolutely spectacular, professional Broadway quality production of Hairspray at the Arglye Theatre in Babylon Village. The cast was exceptional and the orchestra was absolutely out of this world. A gem in the rough. Definitely not to be missed. read more

The Ray Negron show at the Argyle Theater on Sunday, June 24 was awful. It was disorganized and amateurish. The show seemed completely unrehearsed and unscripted. It went on for hours in a chaotic fashion. I feel cheated that I paid $45 a ticket for 5 people for such a mess. The theater will have trouble keeping an audience if it offers shows like this. What a disappointment as the previous Guys and Dolls show was excellent. read more

This was my first time visiting the theatre since it had been renovated. We saw the Producers and it was fantastic! The performance was excellent and we were all pleasantly surprised at how great it was. The only thing we didn't like was before the show started, the owners came out on stage and touted the theatre a little too much. In addition, not one of them ever acknowledged the people in the balcony. Everything said was directed to the orchestra without even a glance up to the balcony. Little tacky. The theatre was nice. I had actually worked in this theatre when it was a movie theatre so I was expecting a little bit more but it was clean and presentable. The only other thing were the seats were a little uncomfortable to be sitting in for so long. The play itself however was great. I can't say enough about the performers. If you are thinking of going, go! You won't be sorry. read more
