On my most recent trip, I purchased the peach rings with tajin, mango chili taffy, fat free coffee flavoring, supplements, and home decor. Tip top, five star review for this location. I was so happy to be treated as well as I was during…read moremy visit yesterday. We'll start with being extremely, horribly, terribly unhappy with the customer service of the web team. I ordered candles online and received them, last Saturday, all smashed. While I completely understand the fact that FedEx was culpable in the destruction of my order, THE COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SILENCE WHEN I CONTACTED THEM ABOUT IT. Not. One. Word. To me, that shows that they couldn't care less about me and my order as a very, very long time customer (MY FATHER BLESSED THE GROUND AT SOUTH DEERFIELD, IF YOU MUST KNOW--and before anyone reading this states it, I am fully aware that fact really doesn't matter. It gives context as to the longevity of my patronage). I wound up taking my package to this store and was treated with kindness, dignity and lickety split service. Management took one look at my poor box and jumped into high gear for me. I had a replacement candles in a matter of minutes. And while I have my new candles, I have a very, very bad taste in my mouth for the web services team. This treatment...prior to going to the store...is unacceptable. The service I received in the store was absolutely spectacular. Obviously, this is not Mr. Kittredge's Yankee Candle anymore. And yes, I could have gone to the store to make my purchase...if I'd had time. I got the BOGO email on the last day of the promotion, and could not get into the store that day. So...I tried to use the convenience of online sales. Nope, not convenient. I'm saddened with your lack of response.

However, I noticed a sick/injured bird in the parking lot on the way in, and I wanted to help. I knew it was a long shot, but after some failed Google attempts, I asked the cashier if she knew of any nearby wildlife rescues. She and two others helped me to investigate, gave me a box for the bird (with air holes), and all showed the same concern that I had. Sadly, the bird passed away on the way to the rescue, but I'd like to give the employees five stars for the non-traditional customer service and for being wonderful human beings. It's nice to know there are still kind, compassionate people out there. Thanks again! Note for any senior managers who may be reading this: The store was nearly empty at this time (I may even have been the only customer there), so the help I received did not affect these employees' normal duties in any way.

I ordered a desktop in color brown which when it arrived, I did not like the color. I wanted to exchange it for black and they wouldn't take it back because brown is what I ordered! When we arrived the store had already had a table set up with balloons and such to add a nice touch. It was nice of them to also allow her to promote her artwork as well as an abstract artist. It was a good crowd for a Sunday, she sold most of her books and made a bunch of connections too. The store aloud her to stay a little later than her allotted time with the traffic that she drew in. A success in both our eyes. I was able to walk around the store and look around so she could do her thing at times. I found the place fascinating, I draw mazes so I was really into the puzzle area of the store looking for such books. The children's area brought back memories of books that were once read to me. There are games, legos, and much more throughout the store. I don't read much, have picked up a book more within the last year though. I can always find something at a tag sale for a quarter so spending money here seems silly short term. Could see myself doing some last minute Christmas shopping here though in a punch knowing what is inside.
