There's now a huge space with tables, chairs, and games. It's an open invitation to the community to come in, relax, and have a little fun. Another thing I love about this bookstore is that staff members handwrite notes about books they enjoy and attach them to the books. It's a thoughtful touch that helps connect the right readers with the right books. Near the checkout, I also noticed a sign reminding dog owners about the dangers of hot asphalt. It's a simple reminder, but it speaks to the community-minded spirit that seems to be woven throughout the store. Will we be back? Of course. On this trip one afternoon, I decided to stop in when it was open and loved my experience here. It's an eclectic used book and art store. The cashier was immediately welcoming and shared that local high school students are mainly the artists on display, with all manner of things for sale. The main draw here is used books, arranged by topic, but there's artwork and antiques mixed in everywhere. I bought a few charms and some junk journaling style post cards. It's one of those places you don't really know what you want to buy until something speaks to you. Prices are reasonable, you can tell this is more of a passion shop. It doesn't take three days to go through, but the quality of used books here is great. The place is just so neat, so clean so well organized that you can't go wrong. The quality of the used books is also top notch. They appear to buy only the best so they can offer the best. I also must say that the prices are not what you would expect from that type of quality. They are very comparable to the other used bookstores that I have reviewed and I have never put a book back on the shelf because I thought it was too high priced. The staff here is 10 stars and very helpful. The most helpful I have met at any bookstore ever. Lonesome carries a great amount of antique and collectible books also, for the really deep treasure hunter. I enjoy stopping here every time I travel through Sisters Oregon. I have since been back 3 times to see what new items she has for the holidays (Halloween, thanksgiving, and Christmas). I expected prices to be high since the shop is so small and in northwest crossing but have been pleasantly surprised with how reasonably priced everything is.
