Never left a review before but had such a great experience here tonight. The gentleman working was exceptionally helpful. We asked for recommendations on 2 person games, and told him some other games we enjoy. He showed us 5 different options that we'd never heard of. For each he gave a concise rundown of the concept and playstyle. We ended up purchasing 2 of them - the first we played when we got home and had a great time. So impressed with this place! We stopped in during our recent trip to Bend since we were looking for non TV related things to do while on our trip. The nice employee recommended this game where you build a bear park- sounds crazy but it has been the best game and the perfect two player game. We played it over 30 times while on our vacation and ordered the expansion pack. We stopped by a second time on our way out of town for another two player game. Haven't played the new one yet but looking forward to a quiet weekend to play. read more

Sadly, my friends and I were disappointed by Modern Boardshop. We all went in and bought beers, stoked to play some games, and after we purchased our beers we were informed that it is an additional $5 fee to play games. I understand charging a fee if a person doesn't purchase anything else, but we had just bought $50 in drinks. If we had been allowed to play games without the additional fee, we would have continued to order more drinks and they would have made more money off of us in the long run. He expertly steered my friend and I into a two person game, succinctly explained the instructions so we didn't have to waste time reading them, and checked in on us a few times to ensure we were having a good time.
