This store is absolutely amazing. The staff (as well as fellow customers) were warm and welcoming. I fell in love with a pattern and they helped me buy it on Ravelry right in their touch screen tv/computer and linked it to my Ravelry account plus they printed it for me! They helped me find some DK yarn (their yarn is color coded for weight...brilliant!) and needles. There are nice places to sit and stitch, and it sounds like they have events too. Visiting this store was a highlight of our vacation to Bend (for me). I really wish we had a place like this at home. read more

I visited this LYS while my family was on vacation in Sunriver and was very pleased with their selection. Brooklyn Tweed, Blue Sky Fibers, Malabrigo, Farmers Daughter, Machete Shop, and many, many others, including some local yarn. I bought two impractical skeins of sock yarn because they were too pretty not to come home with me. I met the owner and she was friendly, knowledgeable, engaged, and clearly proud of her store, which she should be! It sounds like they have popular knit nights and possibly offer free knitting classes, which seems like a genius plan to me. Absolutely worth a spot if you're in town, and easy parking, so bonus! read more

Nice yarn shop in Bend. Wide variety of yarns and supplies. There's ample parking, it's easy to find. The space is bright and well organized. Smelled fantastic! Claire offered knowledgeable assistance without being pushy. I was visiting Sunriver and my pup had an emergency. While she was getting a procedure done, I went to this little shop and was happy to see their selection of yarn. This store may be small, but packed with yarn from some of the best indie dyers and yarn companies. If you're a yarn snob, you'll love this place! They have a big selection of sample knits and an adorable yarn bombed bike too! I'm a spinner, so I didn't need any yarns but I found some good needles. I d definitely go back. Especially if they added a few fibers for us spinners that are locally grown. read more

I have found an inclusive and welcoming knitting community where all gather to knit/crochet together, learn, share projects, laugh and have fun. That's before mentioning their thoughtful choices of yarn and knitting supplies! Wow, such a great selection from all price points. I found the most gorgeous yarns for my projects. Mowing through my third sweater now. Attended the "Bentley" launch with Marie Greene in the store. So nice to meet the author of the pattern. She was so gracious and was happy to be there and to even help after the class. Wow!! That's how you grow a strong, healthy community. I want to love this shop, however my husband purchased me a set of interchangeable knitting needles ($199) as a Christmas gift, he went with her recommendation of the five inch (which are impossible to knit a hat with and was also told if they didn't work out she would exchange them. Well that definitely isn't the case and the set was incomplete missing a 22 inch cable that I had to order off amazon. Definitely will not be wasting anymore of my money in this shop and will just order online from now on. read more

I wanted to get back into knitting and was excited to hear about Fancywork opening up in Bend. They have an excellent yarn selection - the colors are incredible! I started with falling in love with an indigo yarn and then they helped me find a pattern that fit my skill level (low). I hope to do lots more projects so I can bring more of that gorgeous color into my life! The folks there are very very knowledgeable skilled knitters, I can't believe what they can do. I always try to hit a little yarn shop when I am out of town, and it was the first thing I looked up when I came to Bend. This one was easy to find and so cute! The lady inside, Claire, said that they hadn't been there very long. It was a no nonsense shop, mostly yarn and a sitting area, but I think as they settle in it will get cozier. They had some beautiful yarn and Claire was helpful. I will definitely be looking them up again the next time I am in town! read more
