Love this spot !! It's a fairly new live music venue with one of the best live sound in bk. Sound people were very cordial and super professional. The place is huge and they also have a pretty big outdoor area in the back. Beer selection is average and gotta give props to the very nice bartenders. Looking forward to playing here again.

The Paper Box is one of those places where you walk up to the outside of the building and look around for a good five minutes trying to figure out if you're in the right place. The drinks were reasonably priced. They had a really good deal: a PBR and a shot of liquor for $7.00. The cans of beer were all $5.00 and bottles were $7.00. Mixed drinks were around 8 or 9 dollars. The music was probably the best part of the entire experience. The back yard was really trendy and good for photos but it can get a little cramped if there is more than 15 people there. A lot of people were smoking marijuana inside the bar area and it was treated like a normal thing. So if you're asthmatic, this might not be the place for you. In all honesty, I'm probably not going to go back here.

This is a great venue! There's an indoor stage/bar as well as an outside patio area. i love the industrial space and modern decor. They also serve tacos in case you get hungry. Sound quality is awesome. It's cash only, so bring some benjamins so you can get your PBR on.

Cool space! Came here to check out a friend's hip-hop showcase and liked the vibe. It's a bit out of the way, but I forgot that part as soon as I took advantage of their $6 PBR + a shot special. House vodka makes everyone forget their commute. The place seems like it would be really rad in the summer time, since there was an open area in the back. It was just slightly too cold for us to enjoy, but the mural painted out there was cool. It had Futurama characters, and everyone knows I have a cartoon crush on Fry. (...well, I guess now everyone knows). Minus one star for the cover - $10, really? It's basically one big room.

I hoped we could have refilled them inside before taking the subway back, but didn't see a place to do that. We passed through security without a hitch. It was open seating, and we were a big group. We found seats in two rows that separated the group, but we could still talk and mingle at intermission. The opening act was unique and entertaining. Unfortunately the noisy attendees sitting stage left made it difficult to hear her and her playing. Common courtesy was not evident for this act. After an intermission, the main show took the stage - I MOSTLY BLAME MYSELF. The stage was perfect for these funny troupe & their original humorous skits, which were were diverse, topical, and rousing. After another intermission they returned and gave outstanding & energetic performances. We came for the show and it did not disappoint. The venue was suitable for the show and the uncomfortable folding chairs necessary for the dance party after the show. Static comfortable chairs could not have been uprooted for the after party fun.

A truly great, chill spot for some solid drinks and vibes!…read more Just what we were looking for after having an expensive dinner nearby - a lowkey and chill dive bar with amazing aesthetics and a fun atmosphere! There's plenty of seating, and it feels very warm and cozy within. Ordering at the bar took a little while, but the bartender was very friendly and once I had the drinks, it was a great space to relax within. We had some of the ciders, which were a great flavor and taste. I also loved the decor behind the bar and also throughout the building. There's a yellow, comforting warmth throughout the space, something that I loved on a cold winter evening. If you want a chill space with excellent vibes and a warm atmosphere, Skinny Dennis is definitely the spot for you. I think they also have live music frequently - no one was performing while we were there, although I did notice someone beginning to set-up just as we were heading out. I highly recommend!

They don't really have food aside from peanuts, and the frozen coffee ($15 each) is a must try! It tastes a bit like a boozy frozen tiramisu - mix well to drink! It was super delicious and I'd definitely get it again. This is a super loud, super crazy vibey dive bar so don't expect something upscale or fancy. There are three bathrooms (tiny) and the sink is on the outside - the bathrooms are incredibly gross as expected so just be aware!

It should not be a surprise, but it's rather huge. My sister and I already had tickets, and all we had to do was show our IDs, get our tickets scan, and we were able to go right in. From the entrance, there are no signs that indicate where the stage is, so you have to walk around a bit, but it's not difficult. The bowling lanes are straight ahead and there's a long bar. They have some cool looking cocktails, and the one that really caught my attention was a peanut butter espresso martini. For the longest, because I was afraid of how much it would be (it actually wasn't too bad), I resisted the urge, but after the concert, I got one and it was delicious, even though it was not jazzed up and looking fancy like a typical espresso martini. They put it in a plastic cup and that was pretty much it haha XD. Anyways, the concert was a blast, and it's awesome that we could literally stand right in front of the stage, no barriers or security with a gap. It was an awesome crowd, and even the some of the artists came into the crowd. Even though it's not the smallest space, that made it feel more intimate and it was a fun experience. The sound was amazing all around too. I haven't been to many concert venues in NYC, but I have no complaints about this one really, though the drink's presentation was a bit of a letdown for me. I'd be back!
