A friendly, local breakfast and lunch spot "hidden in plain sight" on the tiny "island" of Old Tustin Avenue. The service was very welcoming and attentive, a nice place that is very comfortable and clean, and family friendly. The menu is very ambitious for a small restaurant. You will have the happy difficulty of choosing from many inviting options. The 2 egg breakfast was very good with perfectly poached eggs, a delicious kielbasa sausage, hash browns and thick wheat toast. The Cheesy Grits were a pleasant surprise on the menu and paired well with the kielbasa, which I sliced up, added in. Sadly, the chilaquiles were a bit uninspiring. Overall, a nice place for breakfast and definitely check it out.
09.06.2026 Hubby and I came for a lazy holiday breakfast. This was near our neighborhood so we decided to give it a try. It was busy around 9:30 am and pretty full when we arrived but there wasn't a wait. We were seated immediately. By the time we left the place emptied out. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The place was cozy, with that local diner feel. Hubby had "The Original" Loaded Hash Browns and put the eggs on the side for me. The portion size was large enough and it was definitely shareable for both of us. Next time he's going to ask for the hash browns and bacon crispy. I ordered a side of biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was soft and the gravy went well with it. Next time I'll order gravy on the side and ask for some jelly. This is definitely a place we'd come back to with the family to try more of their food.
I was craving shrimp and grits and stumbled upon The Pan during brunch. It was busy as expected but I had my patience with me. The wait was worth it because their shrimp and grits are the best I've had in SoCal. The grits were so creamy and cheesy, the shrimp succulent and flavorful. We also had their green chile hash but it didn't hold a candle to the shrimp and grits.
Very friendly service! The shrimp and grits were tasty, and their French toast! Sadly their pancakes were a huge letdown and not what I expected. For the price paid this wouldn't be a top pick for me.

The place is tucked away in the back of a shopping center behind a gas station and other restaurants. There's plenty of parking and the atmosphere is nice. You have to wait to be seated, but my group was seated almost immediately. Our food order was taken quickly and the food came out pretty fast. The server was also checking in regularly and was on top of getting us refills. As for the food, I ordered the pastrami and egg sandwich. I asked if it came with fries and the server said it is a pretty big portion and you probably wouldn't want a side. He also mentioned that it has hashbrowns in it. And he was right, the portion was large and I was full from just the sandwich. Everyone else in my group complimented the food. I had originally planned to go to a different restaurant at that freeway exit, but found it had shut down a couple weeks prior, so finding this place was a welcome surprise.
My son said these are the best grits he has ever had. I tated his dish and would 100% agree. He had the shrimp and grits. Creamy, perfectly cooked and the andouille sausage gives the perfect amount of heat. My nephew had the fried chicken sandwich with carne asada fries. He said that he felt the chicken was overly seasoned and I would agree with that as well. The chicken is moist and the fries were yummy. I had the banana pancakes. They were ok. I would have liked more bananas. Our drinks were also delicious. Homemade horchata and a mocha latte. I'd come back again and again for those shrimp and grits!!!

We arrived and it was busy inside so we decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. Very friendly staff sat us and we had a man as our waiter, I think the manager. He was very fast, helpful, and kind. It was our first time there so he reassured us that the food we ordered were some of the best choices. AND WE AGREE. we ordered the loaded hashbrown and the chicken and waffles. The blackberry butter and blackberry compote that came with the chicken and waffles was the perfect amount of sweetness. The waffle was cooked perfectly and very fluffy. The chicken was super crispy and juicy. The loaded hashbrown had scrambled eggs, bacon, a tasty aioli, and cheese. Full of great flavor and extremely filling. My husband ordered their homemade horchata and it was sooo good! We will be come back to try more!
Update: We've frequented this place a few times in the last year. Each time was relatively good. I should note, we have dined in each time except for today. Today, we decided to place an order to go. My grandson loves their French toast but didn't want to dine in today. So we order French toast and a Chili verde burrito. Should have maybe taken 15-20 minutes tops. The gentleman who took my order said; "wait outside on the bench (which was occupied by patrons waiting to be seated for dine in) and someone will bring it out to you." So we did, no problem. I got caught up entertaining my hungry grandson and didn't realize almost 30 minutes had passed. Nobody came out to provide updates or anything. I didn't think much of it initially because they were busy per usual, and I was giving them some grace. I went inside to check on the order and low and behold, my order had been ready for quite some time and was sitting under the warmer. Great, except my food was not hot, it was semi warm. This added to my frustration as now I still had another 20 minute drive home and therefore my food would be cold by then. To add to my frustration, once home, there was a small piece of eggshell in the scrambled egg. Not that big of a deal for an adult. But because my toddler grandson was eating it, this could've been a problem. Additionally, the chili verde burrito barely had any meat in it and lacked some flavor. I truly hope today was just an off day for them as I do like this place. Dear management: I understand they were busy but please ensure staff also give attention to in person to go orders just as much as they do dine in. I will own that I should've checked in earlier but since I was told they'd bring it out, I expected just that! Despite being take out, I did leave a decent tip for them and still got subpar service.

Imagine creamy soup sauce, jambalaya ingredients, big shrimps, 2 over easy eggs, and creamy grits. It just works. Zula's crab cakes Benedict - solid. Real crab, spinach instead of english muffin (creative and tasty), poblano sauce, and potatoes. Wifey liked this because it was seasoned well and tasted great. Fluffy pancakes and bacon for the kids. The chocolate chip and tiramisu pancakes were like dessert. Lastly, Josue is super friendly, professional, courteous, and caring. He created a warm environment for us overall. We'll be back!
This is a cozy breakfast and lunch spot in a mini strip mall. The food is very good and the menu is extensive with breakfast and lunch served all day. Like a lot of popular places there is usually a wait on weekends. Our party of 6 waited 35 minutes to be seated. The manager checked on us and kept us apprised of the wait. Service had some hiccups maybe based on how busy they were. While our drink orders were taken right away, it was quite a while to get coffee and water. Most of our orders included toast. We were asked what kind of toast we wanted but toast never appeared. A server came out with some of our food but had no idea what the items she was delivering were. The manager did compensate us with a discount. Being retired I think I'll go midweek next time. There's a lot of menu items I want to try.

My mom and I were trying this place for the first time, and it was amazing! The customer service was incredible. We were greeted at the door as soon as we walked in. They were so accommodating throughout the entire experience, with multiple staff members always checking on us, getting our food, and bringing the puppy water. We even asked if they had a chicken breast with no oil or seasoning that we could give to the puppy. They said they usually wouldn't, but he came back and said they could pull a fresh one for her, which was beyond kind. Other than the amazing service, the food was a 10/10. Those shrimp and grits were probably the best I've ever had. Usually, grits are too spicy or too salty for me, but these were seasoned to perfection. Plus, there was a good amount of shrimp on the plate, and they were pretty big. The pineapple upside-down pancakes are a must-try, being that they are a staple in our house. They were really good! There weren't any maraschino cherries, but I was vibing with that because I'm not a big fan of them regardless.Overall, such an amazing spot to get breakfast! Amazing food & service! My first time was this past weekend and we were in the area looking for a new brunch spot to try out. The gentleman who served us was patient, attentive and so friendly! We tried the loaded hash & shrimp n grits. We missed out on the pancakes at first, but were able to try a little sample of the guava pancake. The moment I walked in, I got great fun friendly vibes. I was greeted and I had picked up my order. It was my first visit here to redeem my bday reward but I decided to dine in bc the place was so welcoming and the music playing was my jam. I had ordered Chili Cheese Fries bc I love trying different places versions of CCF. I modified it by requesting regular onions on it too. It has pinto chili beans with some bell peppers, chili aoili sauce and topped with green onions. It definitely was a kick of flavor when you add the aioli to it. Overall, the flavors all blended together well and I would come back and order this again. The man who helped me, was super kind. It was so sweet of him to surprise me with their specialty guava pancake. He had put a little bday candle on the pancake. Thats just the sweetest thing ever and a great surprise indeed! I ate the entire guava pancake and it was delicious. It was not a strong guava taste, it was mild and it was not overly sweet. It was absolutely perfect!!! The Pan definitely brought great vibes, energy and I'm amazed how generous and warming the experience was here! I will be back to try more things off their menu. read more

An easy stop for some yummy breakfast / brunch classics like pancakes, French toast, egg dishes and more. We got the banana pancakes and chorizo scramble, both were yummy. I wish the pancake dishes would come with eggs and sausage or bacon like the French toast dish though. Maybe one less stack of pancake plus the savory bites would be better. The chai latte was alright...probably will try something else next time. Staff is friendly and parking is easy. Not a fancy place but definitely good food and comfy environment. read more

We came around 11 am on a Monday and it wasn't too busy and we got seated instantly. We were also well taken care of by our server. I wish I got her name because she was super kind and attentive. The food was also so good. The cinnamon roll pancakes was amazing. I love that the pancakes were not too thick nor thin and it wasn't overly sweet. I would definitely come back for lunch, they have a good variety of menu options. read more
This is a charming new brunch place! The staff is very friendly and service is excellent. They have an extensive menu and everything sounds great so it might take a while to choose. We got the guava crepe and buttermilk fried chicken. Guava Crepe- The galette is soft and chewy. The guava filling is sweet and fruity. It comes with a cream cheese whip that balances out the dish and ties the flavors together. I highly recommend it! Buttermilk Fried Chicken- The chicken is seasoned and breaded to perfection. You get a lovely crunch outside with soft and juicy meat. Served over a fluffy corn cake, a bed of spinach, and topped with this delicious red pepper sauce that I can't get enough of! I'll probably ask for extra on the side next time. I would definitely come back to try out the rest of the menu. read more

We decided to stop by for some brunch this morning. This place is located inside a plaza with a lot of parking spots. Decoration was very cute, especially the headboard on the wall. Staff was friendly, and we were seated promptly. We ordered Banana walnut pancake, Chorizo scramble, and a Coffee. Services were fast. Our server checked on us to see if we need our coffee to be refilled. The chorizo scramble was delicious, but nothing stands out compare to other places. The pancake was a bit dry. Lucy's Loaded Burrito with barbacoa: 5/5. Savory, creamy, served piping hot and cut in half. Was dripping with juice and was therefore messy to eat with my hands, so I eventually used a fork and knife to finish it up. It had very little lettuce and barely any pico de gallo, but at least it came with a yummy tomatillo-like sauce. Pancake flight ("secret menu" item) with Tiramisu, Strawberry Paradise, and "Best Ever" Banana: 4/5. A flight includes a total of three mini pancakes of whichever pancakes you'd like, including corn cake but excluding French toasts. I liked Tiramisu the most. A friend also got a regular plate of Tiramisu pancakes and enjoyed it. No wonder our waitress was confident in recommending it. I just wished the flight came with a mini stack per flavor instead of just one mini pancake per flavor. Horchata latte ("secret menu" item): 3/5. It's horchata with some type of syrup and a shot of espresso. I thought it was a disappointingly bland. The horchata oomph was lacking, and the coffee was quickly diluted by the large volume of ice in the cup. However, another friend got the horchata latte with an extra shot of espresso and still thought the horchata flavor was quite prominent, so to each their own. All-Meat Pizza (14"): 4/5. I appreciated how the cheese and meaty toppings essentially covered the entire crust, so it was nearly crustless. I feel like the pizza could have used more red sauce, but another friend thought it was already satisfying as is, so again, to each their own. We encountered a couple of issues during our experience dining in at The Pan. Like getting overcooked poached eggs (firm yolks) in an eggs benedict dish. And needing to wait an additional 20 minutes (after the entire bill was paid) for a to-go pizza order that was placed at the beginning of our dine-in order and requested to be made a bit in advance to avoid waiting. Though the waitstaff were apologetic, these issues could've been resolved with a little more attention to detail. Free parking scattered around the premises. Tables were available both indoors and outdoors. They played oldies music that was fun to jam to. It was bustling with diners on a Sunday morning, but the waitstaff did their best to check in on us every so often. read more

First time eating here for breakfast. Loved the food! Ordered crab cake Benedict abd Kielbasa with eggs and potatoes. Botth dishes were delicious. Also Loved the music they were playing. Manager was very nice. Restaurant is not too big but has some seating outside. Will definitely be returning to try other dishes and lunch. read more
I was car shopping in the area, got hungry and the "Breakfast Served All Day" sign brought me in. The dining room had a trendy yet laidback vibe. Definitely very clean, and welcoming. It felt like a breakfast diner for younger generations. The food was good. We split the Chilaquiles plate and the fried zucchini sticks appetizer. The best part about our visit was the service. Andrea was serving everyone all on her own, but still managed to give us very committed, caring and thoughtful service. I don't live nearby but would eat here again if I did. read more

The pizza was OK. I like that it was made with multi-layers of toppings. It looked plain at first when they brought it out but there's more toppings when you bite into it. But the dough tasted like it wasn't baked all the way through. It didn't have the crispness like I'm used to. And the pizza itself isn't thin crust like our waiter said. Maybe next time I'll try their actual breakfast options. This isn't a place for pizza, at least not for me. read more

The food was amazing and the service was great! Had a bad experience at the Long Beach location with service but this location redeemed their name. Looking forward to going back and trying different dishes. Found our new go to spot. We tried the nawlins banana foster French toast and loaded hashbrowns. I like the salt content and the butteriness of the biscuit. Def lingers on your tongue. Maybe not as flakey as others, but def worth. Mediterranean scramble 3/5 Lots of Kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, tomato, etc, I asked for it to be soft scramble but it looked pretty cooked. 3 eggs so it's a good amount of protein. Potatoes weren't that crispy, but they were decent when eaten with the bell peppers and onions. Portion not as large as sandwich. Fried chicken sandwich on croissant 4/5 Croissant itself is whatever, but sandwich as a whole is quite satisfying. Chicken wasn't dry and the pesto and onion helped to make it not as heavy. Def huge and shareable between two people. Carne asada fries 4/5 Not as crispy as id like, but they do the marinade for the carne asada better than other taco spots. Pretty good!
