    Husband chose a turtle-$12

Really quaint local business that offers select your own pottery to paint options. Overall, this place has a lot of charm. I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation and coming not during the weekend. I chose a whale ($15) and my husband chose a turtle ($12). Additionally, you have to pay per hour that you paint there, so it's better to come up with a paint plan and stick to it or else you waste time if you're indecisive like me. The sparkle paint is really fun. Definitely do three layers of any paint if you have the time! I like how the paint dries quickly. The staff are incredibly and impressively professional. The reason for the three stars is that when I went, on a Saturday around 1:30pm, they were SEVERELY understaffed. I felt so incredibly bad for them. There was one girl managing the entire floor and another girl managing a huge birthday party downstairs. That was it. They did such an excellent job maintaining their cool and being great communicators, but the wait and added chaos of just being insanely busy made for a lot of unhappy and grumpy customers. People had to wait 20-30 min just to talk to someone to pick up their finished painted pottery. The girl manning the front desk had to keep cashing people out, explaining paint instructions, turning people away, look for finished pottery, and look for empty seats without any help. The girl downstairs sounded like she was leading a birthday party of 50+ people all by herself. I saw many groups of people get turned away just because they couldn't handle the capacity of more folks. I'm glad I got snuck in to a table with my husband without a reservation but we had to wait a while. I also want to make a brief comment about accessibility. The space is an older house that's being used by the business. There's lots of little rooms which is nice if you just wanna hang out with your family and friends, but the materials for painting were spread across so many rooms. If you have mobility issues, it makes it quite difficult. Even the ceramics were spread across at least three rooms so you have to sidestep around tables and people a lot. The paint is in a separate room too. It's just a lot of getting up from your chair, navigating around people and things, and making sure you dont accidently bump a ceramic off a shelf. I've been to pottery places where it's just one large space which is helpful. Parking downtown isn't fun either and there are steep steps that lead up to the front of the building. I had a good time and I'm glad I went. I just highly recommend that the owner adds extra staff on the weekends and if they ever move, consider a place that's more accessible and open.

This place was really cute and fun! Decided to go here for my birthday items were a little expensive and I wish we didn't have to wait a week to pick up our product :/

I very much dislike giving negative reviews, especially to locally owned businesses, but this one…read moreis definitely deserving. I found this store on Facebook and reached out to the business on Facebook. I communicated with the owner via Facebook messenger and booked a time to come in. My son wanted to make a coffee mug for dad's birthday. We booked our appointment three weeks before my husband's birthday. We arrived on time and found the location to be underwhelming. The front of the store has peeling lettering on the windows and the lobby was cluttered and unorganized. I'm a crafter and I work in a chaotic craftroom, but can definitely see how this would be off-putting. The lobby is definitely not appropriate for young children because of the tripping hazards. We were directed to the back of the store to pick out what we wanted to decorate. Along one wall was items that could be painted and brought home same-day. The other wall held items that would be painted and kept for "one week". My son wanted to make his dad a coffee mug for his birthday, so we chose a mug from the side that would need to be kept at the store for a week. The experience of decorating and the decorating process was pleasant enough, and my son enjoyed his time spent creating. This is why I have awarded this business two stars. Beyond the actual "creating" experience, there were no positives. My son finished his project, I went to the front of the store to pay, and we left. I filled out a form and the owner asked me if I wanted her to call me when it was ready or to message me on Facebook where we had already been communicating. I told her that either was fine and gave all of my additional contact information. After two weeks (a week before I needed our gift), I messaged the business on Facebook to ask if it was ready for pickup. The business read my message but did not respond. Another week went by without a response, so I messaged again. Again, my my message was read but no response. We found a different gift to give my husband for his birthday and I let my (very disappointed) son know that we could still give dad his gift, but maybe for upcoming Father's Day. I called three days later and left a message. I explained my issue and left my contact information. No one returned my call after a week. I came during business hours and the store was locked. Another week went by and I both messaged on Facebook (admittedly very irritated) then called the business. Miraculously, the owner answered and told me that they would be there the next day and gave business hours. They were to be open from noon to three. I arrived at 1:15 to locked doors, even though I spoke with the owner over the phone and confirmed the hours just the day before. Multiple messages and phone calls later, with lots of stress added, I've got the mug. Dad got his now "Father's Day" mug. The mug is cute. My son enjoyed creating it. The business doesn't operate like a business should, doesn't communicate with customers, holds projects hostage, isn't open during their business hours, and is overall just not a good experience. I would not recommend this business to anyone, even my worst enemy.

I found out about this place because of an event I saw on Facebook. It was open painting from 10am…read moreto 3pm and you could paint a fathers day themed plaster piece for $5. The place was a little hard to find, not sure why my GPS kept taking me to SkyZone nearby but it's just a couple buildings down from there. There weren't too many people there when we arrived around noon. We found a spot at the table and painted for about half an hour. The staff members were kind and refilled paint as needed. The bathroom has a padded changing table for babies which is nice. My 2 year old son had a fun time, we will definitely return :)
