I'm a longtime member who finds this place to be a complete solace in the chaos of the outside world. Holly and Richard, the owners, go above and beyond to create an atmosphere that not only fosters creativity, but also creates the space for a real community. One where friends become family, and time spent together is a treasure. The studio is delightful, and does its best to be flexible and accommodating to every student. Unlike many other studios I have attended, students are guaranteed 40 hours a week of open studio access in addition to their classes. This is not a right, it's a privilege. Beyond the traditional things that make this a great place to make art, it is most of all a safe place for anyone that enters. I could not recommend this studio more, and my only hope is that Holly and Richard know what a treasure they've created for so many. Fairly long term student here... on the plus side the open studio times are pretty good. I've found Holly and Richard to be very flexible in terms of use of studio time. On the minus side the place is downright chaotic. It doesn't help that they allow students to bring their dogs in with them, so when the place is busy you're often tripping over somebody's dog, often one of Richard's, or stepping around puddles or other canine messes. Some people really love the dogs- they feed them and allow one of them to jump up on tables where work in progress is. Oh, aren't they cute. They really need to get a grip on the dog thing because not everybody thinks they're so adorable. I think the community's growth outpaced their ability to manage it. They seem to be flying the plane as they're building it. To their credit they recognize this and are always working on organization. Installing bigger shelves organized by instructor and class. This will give instructors the autonomy to discard abandoned projects, thereby freeing up space. Buying more kilns. They're improving thruput on firings too. Weather permitting they do frequent Raku firings too, which I like a lot. They seem to have a hard time retaining good instructors. I stay here because the open studio time is good, I like the other potters, and it's convenient to my house. read more

I love this place! The vibes are impeccable and I've learned so much since joining. There are plenty of wheels and it's a spacious place to be able to throw, hand build, or glaze your pottery. There are even spaces just to hang out if you want. There are a lot of classes offered. Holly, the owner, was my teacher; she is super knowledgeable and fun. She is very engaging and hands-on and I was able to pick up pottery quickly. I will definitely make this a permanent fixture in my life. read more

The studio is good size with plenty of wheels to throw on . Richard and couple of other instructors are awesome. I was extremely disappointed in their other instructors for beginners class. Instead of teaching and demonstrating and helping the beginner students out, These few women instructors were very rude and just working on their individual pieces. For beginners class, they should be teaching not working on their own piecec everytime When asked question, they gave rude answer back. I would sincerely hope the owner makes some changes in the way instructions for classes are conducted . We are paying considerable fees for the 6 week course. The place is not organized well at all. I've been taking classes here for the past several months and I just keep divining up for more. Shout out to my teachers Brett, Michelle and coming up Izzy. I love the studio vibe very chill no pressure and the community of newbies (like me) and seasoned professionals who share their knowledge is amazing ! I've found using my creative side has brought me joy in a way I hadn't imagined . Extra shout out to Michelle who has done such a great job as the kiln queen to ensure that all pieces are bisque fired and glaze fired so quickly that waiting for the excitement of a finished piece is short. I love this guild. I'm a hand-builder who has taken nearly every class since it opened last year. The hand building tools and equipment is vast and Pam Graham is an extremely knowledgeable teacher. Michele is also very good. I've hear great things about the other teachers but I have not taken their classes so can't really vouch other than to say they are all really kind. I also like that the instructors are very accommodating to special requests. Everyone is helpful including the members. It's great being in a atmosphere of learning with beginners and very advanced people. Watching the beginners grow in their craft puts a smile on my face. read more
