Until we traveled to Chicago I'd never heard of The Original Rainbow Cone. Visiting here and seeing it on Yelp, my wife and I had to try it. First time trying a rainbow cone and it was unique to say the least. I loved the layering of the different flavors, that while distinct somehow managed to mesh together in a novel harmony. The cone can get very messy very quickly if you're eating it outside on a warm day, which is probably the only option since there's no indoor seating. They have a little contraption designed to catch the melted ice cream but it ended up overflowing for me and didn't work that well. I think that for one person, a junior size cone would be plenty. Ok my favorite ice cream spot here. The NY Vanilla ice cream is so good, it's like a French vanilla style. This is the only vanilla ice cream I eat! They give you cones if you get a big tub too. Cookie sandwiches are super sweet but the ice cream is perfect on its own. The service is a little slow but it is because there are a lot of people in line with orders and the ice cream is hard to scoop. The location is inside Gino's and there are no chairs or waiting areas. So this location makes it tough to enjoy the ice cream. read more
