Given the speed of the service and the fact that there were only 3 of us I don't know how he thought we could have generated such a big bill. He wasn't very happy to have to go away and get the right bill. In future I will be avoiding Amesbury Harvester. I'm not sure my fillings would stand up to another meal.

There is a front room with a small bar and another room in the rear. There is also seating outside for nice days. We sat in the room in the back. Service was excellent here and so was the food. We let our waitress know that we were catching a flight in Stansted and she helped us avoid the traffic around Stonehenge. She was so helpful she actually wrote out turn by turn directions for us. If you're in the area definitely stop by. So glad we came here instead of eating at the cafeteria at Stonehenge.

This last visit, I ordered whitebait followed by steak and chips. Absolutely fabulous! The beer choices here are good with a number of different types of beer on tap. They do know how to make a tasty cappuccino as well. Parking shouldn't be a problem. If you are a tourist and not used to English country lanes, getting here might be a real challenge. Maybe you should take the bus or a taxi from Salisbury. Every time I've come here for lunch I've had a spectacular meal.
