Wild Cafe is a must for breakfast in Bath! Someone in our group recommended we come here and it…read moredidn't disappoint! We arrived in the morning on a quiet weekend. The cafe is a hole in the wall with communal seating and a few other tables inside and some outside. It's a bit packed inside but still quite charming with all the mismatched colorful decor. The service was sweet and efficient. Once seated, we were provided the menus and had our orders taken. The food came out fast and we paid at the front. I don't normally eat breakfast and got the Granola. It was fine--your typical yogurt, granola, and berries. It was tart, crunchy, and sweet--they provide a side of honey. I had half and gave the rest away because I wasn't hungry. Also ordered were the Bubble and Squeak and Fruit Pancakes. Oh my gosh, I had multiple bites of the Bubble and Squeak because it was so good! If I were hungrier I'd order this for myself. It's a delicious harmony of savory filling goodness. Loved the mashed potatoes and all the proteins. Highly recommend! Wild Cafe is an affordably delicious spot for all-day breakfast and brunch. Found on a corner in Bath off Queen Street, it's a must for yummy food!

The portions are large and the food is crazy. Good. We went in there and ordered nice big plates of food and wound up sharing them with each other because everybody got something different. I was so pleased that while I was eating off of someone else's plate that they were enjoying the food off of mine at the same time. Plan ahead for when you're gonna get there. I recommend that one hour to 30 minutes before they close get your order in and that's a sure far away to get you to the head of the line at the end of the day.

It's all about the location and the Waterfront Café has it in spades, nestled perfectly on the…read morebanks of the Thames in Benson village. You can even pull up your boat at the moorings in the small marina. On a nice sunny day the outdoor lifestyle comes into its own with also plenty of space for a child to get up to mischief, all under supervision of course. Indoor seating is slightly less abundant than that of outdoors but is clean, well laid out and flood with natural light. My favourite local place to take a lunch, the food is light and nothing too overbearing. Wine by the glass is a much loved service as well, speaking as a better standard of café. The only detraction would be that it is highly overpriced for the food. You can easily spend more than you would for an evening meal whilst you enjoy a sun drenched riverside lunch. For example, the 'pizza' is a half baked baguette melted with cheese. They of course have a slightly higher standard of topping such as red onion jelly and goats cheese. Still, it is essentially an oven ready bread with cheese. For the fifth star the price either must plummet or the standard of food on service must improve. I would break down my rating as three for the location and up a notch for serving Sauvignon Blanc by the large glass.

I had the eggs benedict which was very good but a big plateful. My guest had the vegetarian breakfast which went down very well. We sat in the conservatory which was warm and filled with light, albeit a little rustic in comparison to the setup and furniture in the main cafe. Criticisms: it's a bit of a bunfight to get served at busy times. You have to order and pay for your food at the desk first, and it's a bit disorganised and slow. You think you're next in the queue and then you find you're not. There is no shortage of staff but there's no real system for serving people. The tables are bare so you have to obtain your own condiments and cutlery. The mayonnaise had to be requested especially as it wasn't with the others (presumably as it's in the fridge). The tables weren't cleared quickly enough between diners. Despite this it's still worth 4 stars and I'll definitely be back.
