Relaxed cafe in the old Stone building on Newbury Wharf. A…read morebit cramped inside, and toilets upstairs, so can be tricky for mums with more than one child. Outdoor area great. Table service is quick and friendly, and lots of attention to all the snacks. Really good Italian coffee and nice cakes. They've recently started evening meals (BYOB) which looks tempting

Well, it was a good thing we did, since we didn't get to go back for afternoon tea... Just as the name suggests, it is located right by the canal. It was very picturesque, peaceful and relaxing. They also have seating upstairs, and had histories on the canal, with photos posted all around the wall. Their cakes looked amazing, but I decided not to order any dessert on this day. Yes I know, a big mistake! Our friend ordered Heavenly Hot Chocolate, and it looked so pretty! We went with Teashop House Blend Tea, and Earl Grey. The young boy who brought the teas (I hear this is a family-run business) was trying to very careful not to mix them up. But the funny thing was, he totally mixed the tea up! LOL. We didn't realize until half way through... I thought the House Blend tea tasted so much like Earl Grey. For lunch, we had Ham, Cheese & Chutney Sandwich and Eggs Benedict. They were both tasty, nice portion, and filling. Our friend went with something healthier, and ordered one of their vegan sandwiches. It is nice to have that option if you want or need vegan dish. We had a nice quick lunch here. It was adorable and cozy. The food was good, not amazing, but good. I think the sweets might be better than the actual food...I will never know, unless I go back! Lesson learned: don't never expect your plan to go just the way you planned them...and have your dessert first!

Easy to order from the screen but they're super helpful if you're stuck or don't know how to navigate it. An old man actually showed up while I was ordering and he had no clue what to do. He must have been in his 80s, it was nice to see how chilled and super patient he was helped by the guy behind the counter, who walked and helped him. Cheers to that. The place itself is so clean and super spacious. Two levels with the WC on the bottom level. The large windows on the top level allow you to seat and watch the street outside. The chairs to lounge are super cozy and comfy. My coffee latte was super tasty and my ham and cheese sandwich was the perfect combination of sweet and savory.

If you add extra toppings they just will not add them. You have to wait over 10 minutes after recieving it for it to melt even to the extent that you can begin breaking up the solid frozen block of acai, banana, granola, and penut butter. Even once it has thawn enought to attempt to eat it, all components are bland and flavourless. Also insanely expensive (£8+) for an approx 7.5 cm diameter bowl of frozen, flavourless slop.

They are now a short walk away nestled in a side street at 2 King Edward st. They still offer fantastic coffee, tea, and a cafe menu. I'm very partial to their breakfast menu usually ordering either the Full Oxford or the Eggs & Salmon. Service is quick and friendly and there's both indoor and outdoor seating available. Looking for a quiet seat, some warm coffee, and a fresh tasty bite? Look no further.

I went here to get a matcha and work on my computer. The matcha was basically just milk. The place was not horribly busy when I got there but it filled up very fast and someone else ended up sitting at my table for four, which is quite fair as I am only one person. It became very crowded and felt quite chaotic, I kept looking around to see if anyone else was just drinking something but it seemed like most people were eating lunch. After around an hour there, one of the waiters came up to me and told me that laptops were not allowed because they were so busy so I picked up my stuff and left. I think it could be very nice to hang out in there if it was not so busy, the chairs were comfortable and nice and there was seating inside, outside, and downstairs. This might just not be a good place to do work, or to get matcha; my two tasks lol.
