Europe 2023 - Bath Time to start slowing down and enjoying some morning breakfast cafes. FAST Food: trying to find a proper English breakfast and I think we got one here. we got the eggs Benedict and the Wild Breakfast. The Wild Breakfast has just about everything, sausage was great, poached egg, which I don't normally like was done right, beans, slice of bacon and a white thing and a black thing, not sure what they were but I ate them. The Eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. The coffee however was amazing! Atmosphere: we sat outside by the road and watched people and cars navigate the tight road. Admire how old everything is. Service: great service, we got our food quickly and had a nice chat with the young lady from Moldova. Tip: enjoy a second cup of coffee or tea and soak in the area.

Far too cute. You can get coffee/tea with a pastry or proper breakfast/ brunch / lunch. Sit inside communally or out. Kinda "young" place.

Cappuccino!

Quaint eatery, great food and ambiance. Servers friendly and helpful. Ordered the Wild Breakfast and Royal. Cappuccino and the Fresh Mint tea was really fresh!

2 veggie breakfasts and beans and avocado.

So good! The waitress was really friendly and sweet. The food was amazing, seasoned really well. Great coffees. Highly recommend, thinking about coming here 2 days in a row.:)))

Bacon pancakes. So amazing.

Brilliant little breakfast spot in downtown Bath a bit off the beaten path. Great light, communal tables and a cool / hip vibe make this place totally appealing. Food is homemade and really fresh and delicious. I had the bacon pancakes. Sort of like a cross between a biscuit and a pancake (biscake? pancuit?), hearty and delicious and overflowing with syrup. My date had a crazy eggs benedict with salmon which looked dreamy. Great coffee and service too. Highly, highly recommend this place!!

Found this place on yelp. Had breakfast here. Very good if you are a fan of poached eggs. They also have sandwiches, but I didn't try any of those. They have vegetarian and gluten free options available . I think there is an up-charge for Gluten free though. The espresso/ cappuccino was very good.

Wild Cafe has a very lively atmosphere, with a friendly service, descent food, and a decor of industrial wilderness. I got here at 8am and they were still not set up (even though they are set to open at 8) but they apologized for being late and took care of things very quickly. WiFi connection is fairly descent. Network called BLUE and Password rabbitpie (which they no longer serve) The employees were discussing being shorthanded with one of the locals, and loved hearing how they knew what her "usual" order was. That was very lovely. I had the English Royal wirh a side of Avocado. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic and the salmon smoked to perfection. The side of Avocado wasn't as fresh (had some black stains and felt like it was a half leftover from precious day) , but was edible. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely come back here. 3 Stars, but an extra star for the humbling and friendly service.

What a lovely little cafe to happen upon. My parents and I were wandering around Bath one day and I needed a break. Suddenly, around the corner, there it was. A sweet little corner cafe with big windows, multi-colored chairs, and the hours written on the wall in pastel chalk. Everything is recycled, reclaimed, and/or homemade. The coffee was good and the homemade carrot cake with rainbow sprinkle frosting was to die for. The spoons were all antique and my mom was lucky enough to get her coffee with a 1937 coronation spoon. My dad offered to buy it off the gentleman behind the counter but he politely declined and said he actually gets that a lot. I believe it. I don't live in Bath but I know that if I did, I would undoubtedly frequent the Wild Cafe. It has a charming and light atmosphere; no pretenses and a unique find within the city. If I had my own cafe, I'd want it to be just like the Wild Cafe.

Eggs Royal (poached egg on toasted muffin with smoked salmon and hollandaise)

Lovely, cozy spot with quick service and homemade food. Went for breakfast and had the Eggs Royal (bennie with smoked salmon) and my friend had the pancake stack. English pancakes are a bit more dense than their American ancestors, but he seemed to enjoy them immensely. My eggs bennie were good, fresh and the toasted muffin was a brilliant base. About 8 tables that sit mostly 2-tops plus a couple of communal tables in the center. Kitchen shares the room but it's very reasonably managed. Despite multiple signs promoting wifi, we couldn't get on board for our entire time there....so perhaps not a great day for the Internet, or not a great place to multi-task, which is fine...you should just eat and chill.

goats cheese and fig salad

What a good place to come for breakfast...or lunch! My friend and I came here to kill some time while our other friends were chilling in the spa. I don't know Bath very well, so we had a quick look on yelp and came here hoping it would be as good as the previous reviews declare... It was. The food: I ordered a salad with lovely, juicy figs and a massive slab of goats cheese. It was lovely. My friend ordered kippers - which she didn't look impressed by when they first appeared...but she seemed to like them once she started munching. My small gripe: The only bad point is that it is quite a small space, and the waitress was a bit rude when we first arrived as she didn't want us to wait.

The English breakfast here is the most delicious one I've ever had, although looks somewhat expensive for a breakfast in s small local shop. The tea is just made from a tea bag. Maybe next time, I will try coffee instead.

Followed the recommendations here and was not disappointed. Fantastic food that is also great value. Everything was very fresh tasting and delicious and the atmosphere reminded me of a laid back cafe in Sydney. I had the chicken and goats cheese sandwich with salad which was filling and tasted like the chicken had been freshly roasted that morning.

Perfect poached eggs and hollandaise.

The most perfect poached eggs I've had in Britain, maybe the world. My wife and I ordered eggs benedict and eggs royal. All four eggs were flawless. The hollandaise sauce was excellent with just the right amount of lemon. The mother in law had pea and ham soup with buttered bread. The pea and ham soup was excellent. I usually hate pea and ham, as it tends to be bland sludge with ugly peas floating round in it, but it was delicately spiced with just the right amount of salt. Just a touch of sugar in the mix too. The bread was nicely complimentary with some nice seeds and a touch of rye in the profile. My mother in law, in a stereotypical American move asked for bits of ham in the soup. They obliged by dicing some up. Excellent service. Our coffees were above average but not too the same level as the rest of the experience.

We were hungry, but most places had already rolled up the welcome mat and were closed the day. The prospect of facing the 90 minute train back to London with empty stomachs was not appealing! Fortunately Jacob's was still open and serving, and although it was only 10 minutes till closing time, they kindly stirred us our hot paninis in their upstairs dining area. Upstairs a number of people were having coffee or dinner, some on their laptops, so we were not alone in having a leisurely meal even though it went past their official 7 PM time to close. Although the furnishings are coffee shop Spartan, everything was clean and comfortable. I had the ham and cheese panini, which was delicious; my wife had the vegetarian panini, with artichoke and goat cheese, which she really enjoyed. Both paninis were around 5 pounds, pretty reasonable. As a bonus, for a small amount they threw in a slice of passionfruit carrot cake, which topped the meal off nicely! Great place for a quick late meal in Bath before heading home!

You can certainly grab a slice of that (and a slice of cake) whilst whiling away the afternoon at Jacob's. We popped in for a brief stop off before indulging at the (new) Bath spa. Flat whites checked out, the array of cakes was plentiful and exciting, and the staff were lovely. It was a little hectic -- one can't really stand anywhere appropriate around the counter without getting in the way of a waitress, but it's no bother once you've paid and taken a seat. The carrot cake was more than worthy of a mention. It wasn't in the least bit dry, the icing was just plentiful enough, and it was stuffed with nuts and fruit. I even think it was crusted with shaved coconut. The pigeons will try their luck, but I welcome a little avian entertainment. They're really cute, friendly, and will help polish off the crumbs if you're inoffensive about it. You'll also have a great view of the cathedral if you sit outside. Gorgeous little spot.

They also serve coffee and make specialty drinks, juices and smoothies. I stopped in to get a smoothie to have while walking around town. They had a few different flavor combinations but I decided to go with the berry smoothie. The kind gentleman at the counter took my order and I looked around while I waited. They had many foods sitting out on the side, it looked like you could choose a main and some sides yourself for a specified price. The food all looked very good. The smoothie was fine, unfortunately it wasn't cold which was the thing I wanted most. This may just be a thing in Europe but for me, I like a cold smoothie. They have several tables outside to sit and enjoy your food. There is also seating on the second floor of the eatery. The wait was a little long, about 10 minutes for two smoothies. There was no other food or drinks that came out of the kitchen so I am not quite sure why it took that long. Wasn't a terrible wait, but there was nowhere to sit while waiting.

The space itself has a hipster casual vibe, which is definitely a scene I'm comfortable in. Lots of wood and dark colors and fun light fixtures, there's even a few tables outside (but good luck snagging those during even remotely nice weather!). It's a relaxed atmosphere that's great for groups of friends, breakfast dates, or solo travelers looking to hide in a corner and study. If you're a fan of a bloody mary, definitely be sure to get one here! Unfortunately, in my opinion, both the food and the service were tremendously disappointing. I'll start with the former: I ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast that comes with a fried egg, grilled halloumi, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomato, spinach and hashbrowns. According to the menu, there's also unlimited toast and tea (or americano) when no substitutions, but neither of those options were apparently available to me. The food itself was plentiful, but unmemorable (and bland) compared to similar breakfasts I've had elsewhere. And the staff was, for lack of a kinder word, rude. Dismissive, too. It was actually the worst service I had during my entire trip, and it stinks when a place stands out for that, but that's what I'm gonna remember from SSBD.
