Italian hero panini in home-baked ciabatta. Delicious!!
Stephanie O.

Being right in front of the Roman Baths and Abbey we were initially worried that it was a tourist trap but this place was excellent. We enjoyed a roast pumpkin and sage soup with cheddar and thyme soda bread, and a Italian hero panini. Both delicious. The panini came in homemade ciabatta which was really, really good. My in-laws shared a soup and a pie and mash. Oh my word. The pastry on that pie was just incredible. I had a bit of food envy despite how good mine was. They had the Heidi pie (a veggie pie with sweet potato, spinach and feta) which came with creamy mash and gravy. We wanted to try their cakes but were too full. Even the 2 for £5 offer unfortunately couldn't tempt us, although the lemon and rosemary polenta cake looked extremely good. Would definitely recommend this for a quick bite to eat whilst sightseeing in Bath.

Lovely coffee shop in the heart of Bath, right next to the Cathedral and Baths. Excellent coffee, food, and genuine free wi-if (not some stupid cloud wifi like so many UK coffee houses) that works and isn't sluggish. Head upstairs and enjoy the view over the courtyard on a nice selection of comfy chairs. Excellent! I'll be back during my next visit.

Finally, a real cappuccino. Plus the paninis and pies are yummy. Quite an unexpected find in the midst of a tourist area...

My only mistake was filling up on panini, so I couldn't handle some of their lovely handmade pastries or a milkshake.

The cafe is a hole in the wall with communal seating and a few other tables inside and some outside. It's a bit packed inside but still quite charming with all the mismatched colorful decor. The service was sweet and efficient. Once seated, we were provided the menus and had our orders taken. The food came out fast and we paid at the front. I don't normally eat breakfast and got the Granola. It was fine--your typical yogurt, granola, and berries. It was tart, crunchy, and sweet--they provide a side of honey. I had half and gave the rest away because I wasn't hungry. Also ordered were the Bubble and Squeak and Fruit Pancakes. Oh my gosh, I had multiple bites of the Bubble and Squeak because it was so good! If I were hungrier I'd order this for myself. It's a delicious harmony of savory filling goodness. Loved the mashed potatoes and all the proteins. Highly recommend! Wild Cafe is an affordably delicious spot for all-day breakfast and brunch. Found on a corner in Bath off Queen Street, it's a must for yummy food!

The portions are large and the food is crazy. Good. We went in there and ordered nice big plates of food and wound up sharing them with each other because everybody got something different. I was so pleased that while I was eating off of someone else's plate that they were enjoying the food off of mine at the same time. Plan ahead for when you're gonna get there. I recommend that one hour to 30 minutes before they close get your order in and that's a sure far away to get you to the head of the line at the end of the day.

They also serve coffee and make specialty drinks, juices and smoothies. I stopped in to get a smoothie to have while walking around town. They had a few different flavor combinations but I decided to go with the berry smoothie. The kind gentleman at the counter took my order and I looked around while I waited. They had many foods sitting out on the side, it looked like you could choose a main and some sides yourself for a specified price. The food all looked very good. The smoothie was fine, unfortunately it wasn't cold which was the thing I wanted most. This may just be a thing in Europe but for me, I like a cold smoothie. They have several tables outside to sit and enjoy your food. There is also seating on the second floor of the eatery. The wait was a little long, about 10 minutes for two smoothies. There was no other food or drinks that came out of the kitchen so I am not quite sure why it took that long. Wasn't a terrible wait, but there was nowhere to sit while waiting.

The space itself has a hipster casual vibe, which is definitely a scene I'm comfortable in. Lots of wood and dark colors and fun light fixtures, there's even a few tables outside (but good luck snagging those during even remotely nice weather!). It's a relaxed atmosphere that's great for groups of friends, breakfast dates, or solo travelers looking to hide in a corner and study. If you're a fan of a bloody mary, definitely be sure to get one here! Unfortunately, in my opinion, both the food and the service were tremendously disappointing. I'll start with the former: I ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast that comes with a fried egg, grilled halloumi, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomato, spinach and hashbrowns. According to the menu, there's also unlimited toast and tea (or americano) when no substitutions, but neither of those options were apparently available to me. The food itself was plentiful, but unmemorable (and bland) compared to similar breakfasts I've had elsewhere. And the staff was, for lack of a kinder word, rude. Dismissive, too. It was actually the worst service I had during my entire trip, and it stinks when a place stands out for that, but that's what I'm gonna remember from SSBD.
