It was as simple as walking up, tell them what you want, they'll ask for a specified date when you want the request completed, and then you just come back. I spoke to Mike initially about getting the patch removed and he was honest about it potentially leaving a mark where the patch was initially sewn on, which I didn't mind. The turnaround rate for the services was approximately 5 days, though I did say it was a no rush service. Not sure if it would have been more expensive had I not said that. Either way, satisfied with how both requests turned out. It was around $12 for removal and $14 for sewing on.

I understood his observation: I originally bought the jacket used from an app. He suggested not tailoring or repairing it at all because opening up the jacket would be a big risk. However, Mike said I could bring the jacket in any time for a FREE PRESSING/IRONING if I lucked out & the jacket did end up getting repaired without coming undone etc. I made a mental note of Mike's generous promise/offer. Weeks passed before I got around to getting the jacket tailored & fixed. The jacket did withstand tailoring, so I decided to take Greenway up on the free pressing--assuming anyone there remembered I had been there or what Mike had said. I brought the jacket in; Mike happened to be at the front desk. He seemed to recollect the free pressing offer, & he handed it over to other Greenway staff. They carefully pressed & packaged my jacket while I waited. A pleasant 10-15 min. wait. When the staff completed the pressing of the jacket, the jacket looked good as new. Impressive customer service is the hallmark of Greenway Cleaners. 5 stars for unrivaled professionalism, tact, & dignified treatment of customers.

In the past, when items were lost or damaged, they handled the situation professionally and took responsibility. Unfortunately, that level of customer service appears to be gone. We recently had a brand new custom sport coat cleaned -- a very expensive jacket specially made for my 6'6" husband. He wore it only a few times on vacation, came home, took it off, and I immediately sent it to Kona for cleaning. When it was returned, there was a noticeable burn mark on the shoulder/deltoid area along with a streak running from the top of the shoulder, exactly like damage caused by an iron that was too hot. When I called, they immediately picked the jacket back up, which initially made me believe they intended to resolve the issue fairly. However, after keeping it for five days, Carlos called and stated that he "asked the production staff" and because they claimed they didn't do it, Kona would not reimburse us. The conversation was incredibly disappointing. Carlos was rude, dismissive, and openly implied he did not believe us. He stated there was no one else we could speak to. After spending thousands of dollars with this business over the years, being treated this way over a clearly damaged item was shocking. To make matters worse, their customer service system is a mess. No one answers the main customer service number, and when calling individual stores, the employees often seem confused, difficult to understand, or act as though they have no idea what you're talking about. During this process alone, this happened to me at least five separate times. In one instance, I was placed on hold and never helped -- I finally hung up myself after waiting 17 minutes. The quality of service at Kona has slowly declined over time, but this experience confirmed that customer loyalty and accountability no longer matter to them. I would absolutely not recommend using their services, especially for high-end or custom clothing.

And they also tag on $2.50 for credit card transactions. First of, I don't like businesses that pass on their CODB to customers. Second, why can't we just use a credit or debit card on the machines without having to buy their own card and put money on it? It's not the most customer-friendly thing to do. I was washing all of my white blankets, towels, and expensive quilts in Machine #36 when it just kept spinning and never actually began the wash cycle. I had also paid extra for the Ultra Wash option. I went to let the staff know the machine wasn't working. One employee came over and tried to help but didn't seem to know how to resolve the issue. She noticed I had selected the Ultra Wash with hot water and then informed me that there was no hot water. If there was no hot water, then I didn't receive the wash cycle I paid for. I explained that these were my white blankets, towels, and quilts, and I wanted to make sure they were properly cleaned. I asked if they could simply restart the machine so I could rewash everything, but I was told they couldn't. Then Martha stepped in, and unfortunately her attitude was very dismissive. She again stated there was no hot water and said the best she could do was give me a rinse cycle. She also told me that if I had informed them before starting the machine, they would have refunded me. How was I supposed to know there wasn't any hot water before I started the wash? What upset me the most wasn't the machine malfunction--it was the lack of concern for the customer. Instead of trying to make things right, Martha told me I could go to the laundromat across the street. I had just spent well over $60 washing my laundry, including $15 for a single washer load (DOUBLE WASH), only to be told to take my business somewhere else. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I simply expected to receive the service I paid for and to have confidence that my laundry was washed correctly. Instead, I was met with indifference and a dismissive attitude that made me feel like my business didn't matter. To make matters worse, after our conversation, the employees gathered together and appeared to be talking about me. Every time I walked by, I could see their reactions, which made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable. I still had several loads of laundry to finish, but instead of feeling like a valued customer, I felt unwelcome and embarrassed. The owner has always been kind and has always seemed to genuinely care about customers, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I have a hard time believing they would approve of the way this situation was handled or how I was treated. I sincerely hope Martha receives additional customer service training so that no other customer is made to feel the way I did.

What's worse is that another male customer helped her take out my stuff. The employee didn't care at all. This will most likely be the last time I come here.
