While visiting in Dallas, had the hankering to play some darts. Haven't played in years (and it definitely showed). Came here with some friends because they remember there being dart boards. I don't drink but they enjoyed a couple beverages while they beat me in darts. (I swear I used to be better). Bartender was nice. Place was definitely a dive bar. My main reason for 4/5 stars was because of the smell in here. It was overwhelming to me. I can only describe it as old wet dirty mop mixed with cleaning chemicals. I have been going to this bar for 2 years now playing pool and minding my own business, this past Monday I had a set a quarter down to play a game of pool and one of the security guards who was working mind you comes over and asked for the table cause he wanted his friends to play, I let him have the table cause it's a Monday and it wasn't that busy and I walk off, he follows me and puts his hands on me and asked if I had a problem and I said no and told him I had a long week and didn't want to talk anyone and just play pool, he drags me out the back door with out letting me grab my pool stick and jacket and proceeded to call me a bitch cause I didn't fight back , securities name was John read more

I was here with a group of my friends at 1:55 on Saturday, August 24th & my friends (celebrating our friend's 28th birthday) were called "toddlers" from the bartender who proceeded to dump our drinks out after making them & refused to serve us because we all wanted to be on one tab & couldn't hand her our ID's fast enough. This was our first stop of the day so quite disappointing & unfortunately not sure if any of us will be coming back (we are frequent goers) because of the terrible experience we just had. I would have totally given this place 5 stars for karaoke night on Wednesday's alone. But I had to knock a star... keep reading for the tale. I honestly have only come here for karaoke night but it's SO much fun. It's old school and everyone has a blast. There's a lot of regulars. No one is afraid to be crazy and have fun with it. Tunes range from Don't stop believing, to No Doubt, to Usher, to high school musical. The pool and darts make it casual fun, so no need to wear anything but jeans, but prepare to have a ton of fun! Tonight though, my bar service sucked! My friend and I both got Dallas Blonde beers, and she got charged $6 while I only got charged $4. This is definitely a dive bar, but it was perfect for what we wanted. We played some pool, and there were people playing darts. The bartender was nice and helpful! They have a good selection of liquors (we had some deep eddy lemon shots and shots of fernet). They didn't have lone star light which was unfortunate, but we had red and survived. Truly, I could not describe a worse experience. I was here with a group of friends for my close friend's 28th birthday celebration (around 1:45 on Saturday August 24th) - we were all so excited to go to her favorite bar to kick start the day. The bartender (a red haired lady) refused to serve us after we ordered drinks at the bar and called us toddlers when we were all 25 or over. I am not sure if she was having a bad day (still not an excuse to behave this way) but she just ruined our entire Saturday. If you want your Saturday ruined please come here, otherwise avoid at all cost! We (and everyone we know) will not be back to this "establishment". read more

Well, it is fine by me that they don't care, but I want to share my experience to other people to consider before giving this place a visit. Firstly, the thing that bothers me the most is their customer services. I don't think the employees take care of you or even be nice you, tbh. This is one of my favorite bars on Greenville Ave. The size is perfect for what they offer and they have both large and smaller tables, which was convenient because we were in a larger group. They also have two dart boards and a pool table where you can pretend you're awesome even though you might suck like me. On the night we came, the atmosphere was great and it wasn't too loud. We really liked this place a lot. The atmosphere is laid back and completely unpretentious. Loved the fact that they have Lakewood Temptress on tap. Bartender was friendly and nice guy. Lot of TV screens if you want to watch sports. Pool tables, juke box, what more do you need? Will return for sure. read more

Me and a friend come here every now and then cause he likes the vibe, But there is one bartender this blonde chick who just has the stankest attitude i ever smelled. Like straight up every time i go in there she has a problem with something. Its not charming at all., Like we were at the bar waiting and had the audacity to yell at us and tell us shes not walking over there to take our drink orders. So we walk over to her, and she proceeds to help everyone around us. After waiting maybe 7 mins which isnt long, she says what do you want? The female manager tonight was beyond disappointing. She supported the doorman PHYSICALLY ASSAULTING a female patron in our group. ADMITTEDLY, we had a beer left in her purse from a happy hour earlier that we brought on the table to drink. Not acceptable - we admit that without hesitation. The female manager asked the doorman to remove us from the bar. The doorman walked to our table, said nothing, grabbed the ARM of a 90 pound girl, and tried to physically pull her from the table. When we asked "what is wrong. What did we do," the doorman responded, "Are you trying to start a fight?" When asking to speak to the manager after this all occurred and emotionally shook our entire party of 12, the manager did nothing but shrug her shoulders, merely said, "yeah he shouldn't have been as aggressive," and continued to serve her patrons. We asked her to have the doorman apologize to our friend for being overly aggressive - she refused. It's shocking, in the world we live in today, that she would support a physically abusive doorman just to help her bar tab and make sure she didn't lose her liquor license. Disgusting and pathetic. The Old Crow is a staple in my diet of Lower Greenville bars. Like all the other bars on Greenville, it's got beer and liquor. What sets it apart from other bars is that the crowd always seem to be really laid back people, and not the wanna-be pimps and hos that you get next door at Sugar Shack. These two bars are night and day. Another feature that is quite enjoyable about The Old Crow is their huge front window. You can sit at a table and watch all the passing females in their absurdly short skirts, and general Greenville mayhem. We saw a pretty entertaining fight through these windows Saturday night, and everyone enjoys a good drunken Greenville brawl. They have a jukebox that is of the newer style, but the selections are OK, so I can't really complain. We easily spend $5 on it. The bartenders, especially Mindy, are funny, friendly, and observant, and a good bartender will draw me into a bar every time. Also, the graffiti in the ladies bathroom is a good read. Gotta love any place you can drink a Lone Star or PBR while devouring an entire Pizza. The juke box has a great selection so you can annoy your friends with Charlie Rich's greatest hits or by singing Social Distortion out of tune at the top of your lungs. The bartenders are great and love to play dominoes on a slow night. They usually don't know how to play very well so it's easy to win. Came here Saturday night as the last stop on a celebration for a recently graduated friend. One of the more crowded spots on Lower Greenville, the music is loud and the wait for the bar is long- but that's to be expected because drink prices are reasonable and there's a fun, casual vibe at the Old Crow. Get to the edge of the bar as close as you can and make eye contact with a bar tender. There's a decent selection of craft beer here as well, which was surprising and there were no lines for the bathrooms which was even more surprising. There are pool tables, although I have no idea how anyone can stand playing pool while dodging all the people. We had a great time, will be back. read more

One of the best bars on lowest Greenville. I go every Wednesday night for karaoke and the service and atmosphere never disappoint me. The bartender there on Wednesdays is also on my short list of best/most friendly bartenders in the city, and that is a HUGE compliment. The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars is the lack of beers on tap. Not that I'm one to complain about bottled Shiner Blonde Light or PBR cans, but it is one things this place is lacking. That being said, I forsee spending many a Wednesday night there as long as they'll keep letting me sing Radiohead. read more

Old School... darker wood, Lower Greenville bar. I went in early in the day and some regulars were already at it. I killed a bloody mary while waiting to get my hair cut and found the place interesting in the daylight... perhaps you really shouldn't ever see a bar on Lower Greenville in the daylight? I noticed an odor when I opened the door... this seems to be common with older wood bars and may be hard to deal with. Is it the plumbing? Is it the smell of over indulgence? I can imagine this place full of happy drunk people at night and will likely come and see for myself sometime soon! read more
