    No Money, No Honey

My sister has been following The Office Tavern's Instagram account for a hot-minute. She requested once I returned into town that this would be our first stop. I was "in town" for a friend's Celebration of Life, therefore she picked me up at the airport, and off we go ... We posted up at The Office! It's choose your own adventure [pick your seat] My initial thought was this joint was too bougie for the Skagit Valley. The bar was lengthy, plenty of TVs, and the floor tables were spaced out such that it didn't remind me of cookie-cutter-zero-foot-property-lines-houses. We arrived late on Friday night. I had already previewed the drink menu, so I had an eye on the No Money, No Honey. The place was busy as expected on a Friday night, yet our server arrived immediately. My sister ordered a personal pitcher, and I didn't waiver on my drink. We LOVED our drinks - so tasty. Although, No Money, No Honey is sweet, so buyer beware. The food special was Loaded Taco Fries - those were necessary. I had a ravenous appetite after flying Frontier Airlines. I ordered the Teriyaki Bowl because finding a gem of Asian food in Phoenix is a lost cause. THAT 'YAKI BOWL HAS NO PEER! Bar none the best I have had in a hot-second. The Office Tavern was established in 2020. If you haven't been by now, get in your car NOW. Motor down here for good food, great drinks, and friendly service.

"Another great day at the office" says nobody ever.......... Ha! Just kidding. The Office Tavern is the exception. We go there when we think of it. They never disappoint. Their drinks are good, they have plenty of beer on tap (no Bud Light that I could see) and their food menu is good. This time I had Cheese Steak Fries. Yes you read that right. Cheese, Steak, French Fries. They take their Cheese Steak sandwich ingredients and smother a pile of seasoned fries with it. You get the peppers, onions, all the cheese, and the meat is prime rib. It's listed on the appetizer side but it's more than enough to eat as an entree. I took some home and it was just as good later. Mrs had the Crispy Chicken sandwich and a side salad. We like it there. It's a casual place. They keep it clean and their service is on par with most places. I will be going back for those fries!!

By @iwanttobewhatieat The fourth best part of this place is that when you say you are at the office, you are not lying. Obsessed with the trifecta of @theofficetavernburlington Service: Killer. The team from the bar to the floor is happy, friendly and make you feel good about your POUR decisions. Ambiance: The bar is lengthy and has TV's for sports. The floor tables are spaced apart so you can enjoy your food without neighbors. Outside patio is PERFECT for all. Food: Look, the food is great, it is really, really great. Those onion rings were fluffy and not greasy. I should have shared them with Mr. Coins but I didn't and whatever, 50/50 doesn't apply to food. The street corn dip is a must, the kind of dip you lick the bowl when you assume no one is looking. The wings were BOMB. This is the place you have been looking for in Skagit Valley and if you haven't, now you will.

Honest Review: Sunday 1130 AM Front row parking! Also easy access to front doors from parking lot from what I could see. We sat at the bar due to almost all tables being occupied - which is a good sign- very popular! The bartender was prompt to greet us and very courteous. He quickly offered menus and told us the daily specials and about bottomless mimosas. Done! We ordered our food: Chicken Fried Steak and the Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict and waited for approximately 25 minutes before it arrived (which was understandable as we came in right in the middle of the Sunday brunch rush). The bartender delivered our meals, silverware, and refilled our bottomless mimosas. Chicken Fried Steak: great crunch on the breading, crispy corners on the potatoes, but the gravy could've used some seasoning - it tasted like a flour, water, and pepper only. Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict: MAJOR kudos to making your own hollandaise sauce! This is a treat in this area! The sauce was good, but it could have used more hot sauce and lemon (believe it or not, it's not all about the butter), the eggs were over poached - yolk didn't run at all on one of them, the English muffins were raw - needed more toasting; but the tomatoes were DELICIOUS and the same great potatoes! I'm not sure if the kitchen was trying to rush our food from the long wait, but I'd rather wait for great food. Overall: Great option for weekend brunch! Many restaurants in metro areas offer only one day bottomless mimosa brunch, this place offers both Saturdays AND Sundays (rare)! Tip: Go around 10 AM to avoid the rush.

We were so stoked to check this place out. But it was all around a disappointing experience. We came in for dinner, last night [Friday] around 9:30PM, tho the kitchen was only serving from the Late Night Menu. We were seated, and the server brought us menus. We had to ask for a drink menu. We were not given cutlery nor napkins, nor were we served waters, the entire time we were there. The server seemed disappointed that we only ordered Street Corn, even tho we were planning to order more.... After ordering the appetizer and drinks, we waited over 15 minutes before the server brought us the Street Corn. She put the food on our table and apologized that the bar was "backed up". She left before we could ask for anything. The drinks arrived later. The corn dish was atrocious. What a totally sad dish!!! Oy vey. It was inBetween Luke warm and cool, and it was so icky. Bland. Literally tasted Like Mayonnaise & Corn. The chips were room temperature and stale. It did not seem that busy, and we saw people getting drinks served before us. Maybe our order got lost in a shuffle, but the service staff did not seem very concerned with us. Finally our drinks arrived. Like twenty minutes after ordering. The drinks were delicious, tho. But overall, the food was not appetizing, and left us both feeling ill [not well]. The waitress never came back, until we were done with our drinks. We Askt for the check. After that, my husband decided to get Taco Bell, which turned out to be waaaaay better than The Office.

The entrance is delightfully well-done, and our faces lit up when we walked into the bar - intricately detailed and authentic enough that a '20s dress code could be reasonably enforced. We were seated immediately, and the cadence of service was immaculate: our appetizer came out just after our drinks, and the entrees appeared as we were taking the last bites of the appetizer. But I wasn't thrilled with my selections. The Rum Punch was served at room temperature and the jalapeño popper chicken sandwich was drier than the description suggested. My partner got the Jalisco Fizz, which she says paired well with the mushroom pasta, and really enjoyed the salmon deviled eggs. At $11-14, the drinks are priced well, but the food is overpriced. The jalapeño chicken sandwich was not a $23 sandwich, and a tempting lobster/shrimp roll was listed at $35. Overall Speakeasy Saloon is worth making an evening of. Dress up and sip on whiskey drinks in the low light with loved ones.

Now, it's become a regular haunt when it's a nice day and I'm in the mood for some good pub food, a tasty cool beer and, oh, an impeccable view over a picturesque Skagit field towards towering Mt. They're also known for Friday prime rib nights, which I haven't enjoyed yet but it's on my list. The service here is super friendly. I've been three times this summer and one of the bartenders already recognizes me! It can be a little slow getting served on busy nights, so I recommend ordering as soon as you can if you're hungry. Otherwise, just settle back with your beer from their amazing taplist (or a cocktail from their full bar), enjoy the view from their vast outdoor patio, and take it all in before the rainy season returns.

Our server was Rainey, she was awesome, very attentive, and came to our table right away to take our order. The atmosphere at Temperate Habits is very nice, there is outside seating but we sat inside due to the bright evening sun. Our meals took quite a while to arrive, I think we were at the tail end of the dinner rush and my guess is they have a small kitchen. My classic cheeseburger was about the most generic, predictable, and utterly boring burger I could imagine, and for $17 I would certainly not return for that or the mundane shoestring fries. The burger patty, bun, and fries were all non creative and the there was nothing even the slightest bit unique about my burger, in fact I swear it is the exact same burger that the Skagit River Brewery serves just around the corner. The surprise entree was the Crab and Lobster Tots, now whoever thought that would be good? The plate looked very strange to say the least but I have to say.... this dish was really good! So you'd think if they could create that total mayhem of a dish that they could get far more creative with the burgers and least have a house burger sauce or a higher quality bun for $17, something? I might return to Temperate Habits to have a drink with friends and share some tots, because they give you a large enough portion for four people, but I would certainly look elsewhere for a good burger. 5 stars for atmosphere and service, 1 star for the burger, 4 stars for the tots.

Lightly Buzzed Honey Lavender Blonde - my favorite of the flight; it was very hoppy but light and refreshing and well balanced by intense lavender flavor and a smooth honey finish. Get it! You won't regret it. High Five Hefe - lighter/less hazy and more hoppy than most hefes it made for a unique and complimentary beer on my flight. Pommeroys Citra Pale Ale - a perfect West Coast IPA. To eat, my pup got the Lucky Dog hamburger (which the chef pre-cut) and loved it! He chowed down in less than a minute. And I got the Mac & Cheese Burger (sub a veggie patty) with the Garlic Fries. It was a very indulgent meal to say the least. The burger was loaded with so much Mac & Cheese that I couldn't even put the top bun on it and pick it up. lol I had to knife and fork the whole thing which was totally worth it. The Mac is a classic home style recipe (think Stouffers but better). Their fries are shoestring and super crispy and salty. And they loaded those up with an amazing garlic aioli and Parmesan. I got a side of their house-made curry aioli and was obsessed with it. Every fry that didn't have sauce or parm got a dip in that deliciousness and I added it to quite a few of the burger bites too. All in all, a great brewpub that I look forward to returning to in the future!
