We had dinner here before the sunset knowing that we weren't getting gourmet food but how about edible food??? The location is priceless - how about someone caring enough to improve the food? We can watch the sunset somewhere else. Not worth it! I had the chicken taco salad - didn't even take a picture- it was made wrong twice. The chicken was not edible.

The Oasis is absolutely worth visiting if what you want is an unforgettable view. I went there while I was in Austin for work because I wanted a place with scenery, and it definitely delivered. The drive from Cedar Park felt a little intimidating for someone who is not from the area, especially because the restaurant is a bit isolated and sits so high up, but once I arrived, it was completely worth it. The only scary part was the drive. After that, the experience was wonderful. The view is truly the highlight of this place. It is stunning, especially around sunset. I happened to go on a Tuesday, so it was not overly crowded, and I was lucky enough to get a great table right in front of the sunset. I was able to take beautiful pictures and videos, and the whole setting felt special. It was a little chilly, but honestly, coming from the Northeast, a 60-degree evening in early April was nothing to complain about. The atmosphere alone makes this place ideal for a romantic outing, a family visit, or even just a relaxing evening enjoying the scenery. The restaurant itself is huge, with plenty of parking and more than enough space, so you do not feel cramped and likely do not need a reservation on a quieter evening. The staff was also a major plus. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and welcoming, from the host to the servers and even the staff doing the cleaning. That level of friendliness really added to the experience and made the place feel warm and inviting. As for the food, I would say it is good, but not the main reason you go. This is more of a place you visit for the view, the atmosphere, and the overall experience rather than for an exceptional meal. The food felt like regular, simple Tex-Mex -- enjoyable enough, but not unforgettable. I had a salad that was unique and good, and I also had a virgin strawberry daiquiri, which I enjoyed. I do not drink alcohol, so I cannot comment on the bar selection. Overall, the food was perfectly fine, but if the menu were stronger, this place could easily go from very good to truly outstanding. That is really the only downside for me. With a location and setting this spectacular, better food would make The Oasis a complete 10 out of 10. As it stands, I would give it about an 8 out of 10. Still, I absolutely had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants amazing views, a fun atmosphere, friendly service, and fantastic photo opportunities. I went solo this time because I was on a business trip, but I would definitely return with my family or significant other in the future.

We come to The Oasis on Lake Travis for one main reason, the views. And wow, they never disappoint. This place easily has some of the most breathtaking views you'll find while dining in Austin. It is absolutely stunning. Every time we go, it still feels just as special and never gets old. The whole property is part of the experience. I love the different levels, the unique structures, the artwork, and the fountains. There are so many great spots to walk around, explore, and take beautiful photos. It's a fun outing in itself, especially with family. Now for the food, it's just okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing outstanding either. I would call it pretty mediocre overall, which is why I'm giving it four out of five. That said, the location, views, and overall layout and atmosphere are impeccable. It's one of those places you have to experience at least once if you're visiting Austin, and honestly, it's worth going back more than once just for the atmosphere alone. We'll definitely keep coming back, for the views every single time.

I have no idea why anyone who eats here would give this place anything below a 5-star rating. Perhaps some people have an unrealistic expectation of what "good service" is. For me, excellent service means that the wait staff are friendly, and you got what you ordered. So here's my two cents. Food: it's pub food with lots of Tex-Mex options. You're right on the lake, so it's got that lake vibe going on for sure. We got the chips and queso (with ground beef), salsa, and the guacamole up front--all were delicious. We sampled margaritas and settled on wine with dinner. The food was nothing special, but everything was served hot, well seasoned, and exactly what we ordered. Service: beyond excellent! It was pretty busy for a Monday (it always seems to be busy), so things were moving slow, but we did not care!! We simply sat on our butts watching the sunset while sipping on cocktails and they all hustled around us. Atmosphere: the whole reason to go here. Sit outside, enjoy the view, and chill to the eclectic mix of music being provided. Bonus--the people watching is phenomenal!! We don't live in Austin, but we visit The Oasis anytime we are. This place is truly something special.

The view is beautiful, but the food was only okay. The service was very slow, and it took a long time for them to take our order. We also asked for a table by the lake, but were told there was no space, even though someone else was later seated there. The food was soggy and not very good.

The Oasis on Lake Travis is just as the name describes. The "Oasis" has become a well-known jewel nestled in the Austin Hill Country. They are best known as The Sunset Capital of Texas because hundreds of guests from all over the world come to see the breathtaking views of Lake Travis and one of the most spectacular sunsets. I remember when it first opened and now it has expanded to a massive compound with multiple floors. We were coming to grab a bite to eat since we were in the area. Every time I come here it seems like it has grown significantly. We parked in the free parking garage and walked to the building and there are gardens and plants gallore with unique artwork mixed in. Lots of opportunities for photo ops. We were seated by the host quickly and chose an outdoor seat with a view. They have a variety of unique cocktails and I selected the Peach Pina Colada with Malibu Peach Rum in velvety coconut-pineapple purée in this a vibrant, peach-forward spin on a lakeside frozen favorite. There were so many other cocktails in the menu that I wanted to try that it was hard to make a decision. For my meal I ordered the Shrimp Skewers with bacon wrapped shrimp and BBQ Sauce. Served with rice and mixed veggies. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of my food. My friend ordered the Shrimp Cocktail which was almost like a ceviche style served with avocado slices, chips and lime wedge. Of course had to take advantage of the gorgeous view with some photo ops. They have started a lovers lock tradition since the last time I was here. The service was a bit slow but that was to be expected with the large amount of customers that they have. It has been a while since I had been here and it never ceases to amaze me how much growth I witness each time. Also the food has improved substantially from what I remember. They also host special events in their massive spaces and I have been to a wedding here before too. Always work the trip for the over the top sensory experience.

Stopped at The Oasis on Lake Travis while heading from Leander to Bandera with an out-of-town guest, and honestly, you kind of have to when you're driving right by the largest restaurant in the U.S. The parking was easy, the entrance is impressive, and that view never gets old. I love The Oasis for that alone. The food was actually pretty good,we ordered nachos, though they definitely could've brought more chips. Here's where it fell short: our waiter disappeared. He dropped our food while we were standing literally two feet from the table and didn't even let us know it was there. We needed more chips and couldn't find him anywhere, even though it wasn't busy. Later, when we were ready to pay, it took forever, and I had told him we were on a time crunch. If the service had been better, this easily would've been a 4-5 star experience. But the lack of attention and slow service dropped it to two stars for me.

Feels like a resort except there is no hotel connected to it. Beautiful view of Austin water, especially at sunset. Definitely get a table outside. If you're looking for a place to go for the vibe this is it. Got the fajitas, it was good but this place is mostly for the vibes. I hear they also are known for their margaritas. There is a gift shop and some bar type spots located within it.

Visited here in May 2018 with an Airbnb host Kristin and her coworker. It was the most amazing dinner ever. Drinks were fabulous too. Very scenic restaurant.

The Oasis on Lake Travis is a whole experience, not just another restaurant. They offer plenty of seating, indoor and out and plenty of menu options for patrons. Their menu includes Mexican dishes along with burgers and entrees to appeal to everyone. The restaurant is built on the hillside overlooking Lake Travis offering a million dollar view and great photo opportunities for guests. The service is good and the food is flavorful. The patio seating has shaded coverage and fans so guests can stay a while and take on the views overlooking the water.

Austin~This place has horrible reviews, but we decided the beautiful views were definitely worth a chance to give it a try. There were five of us and they automatically do a 20% gratuity. Waitress was good, but did not check on us enough to notice I barely ate my food and the people that ordered a cheeseburger and fries desperately needed ketchup. Appetizers were good. We had a combo of fried pickles, onion rings, & chicken bites. They were not as greasy as I expected so that was a good thing! Chips and salsa were good but too spicy for most of us. Entrees~Pork tacos, were really good along with good refried beans and rice. Stuffed Avocado~This avocado was stuffed with a chicken salad made with mayo, peas, and carrots. It came with Mac salad and a creamy jello substance. All three of these items should have been very cold, but they were actually warm. That was an immediate turn off and I only ate just a few bites. I didn't feel like having food poisoning today. Funny, because the waitress was standing next to me when I said I didn't eat much of it. She never asked why or even commented. Cheeseburger~It arrived looking very tasty, but fell very short because it was dry and tasteless. No condiments to speak of. No ketchup was offered, nor was there any on the table. Overall the food was a 3/5 , and the service was a 3/5. The food definitely needs some salt & pepper. I gave four stars because of the beautiful view!!

Spacious restaurant with plenty of seating and an incredible lake view. The setting is impressive, and it's a great place to enjoy a meal while taking in the scenery. Perfect for groups or anyone looking for a lively atmosphere with a view that really stands out. They also have some also cool art decor around the place that you can take a walk around.

Salmon with coconut rice. I wouldn't order again

    Are there vegan options?

    Definitely - numerous!

Do you have allergen info? Specifically gluten free?

I do not know 100% but they are accommodating BUT if you do order gf something double check the order is correct.

Does the Oasis take call aheads for large parties?

What's the dress for this place? My family wants to come here for dinner, but we'd have to come straight off the pontoon and might have "lake wear" on still.

It's very casual & many people arrive after boating ! You can come as you are. But not in bathing suits. I'd say very casual is fine but not swim suits

    Do they take Apple Pay?

They do everything electronically. I'm guessing "yes". But I'm not 100% sure. You may want to call and ask to be on safe side.

Is it open the day after New Years?

    Yes 🍻

    Are dogs allowed?

    No pets allowed

Does anyone know if the Oasis is operating as normal at 100 percent ? How is it since the reopening of TX?

Yes, I am here now and it looks like every table is occupied . Business as usual

Does Oasis have lunch menu on the weekend?

It is open on the weekend but I doubt that the menu is special

Mid week at lunch time or mid afternoon

If our large party is not complete...will we still be seated (with their seats) when our turn comes, since you do not take reservations?

They normally will not but would call ahead and speak to a manager. FYI this place is about the view Not the food.

Is this place also a hotel? I've seen so many people reference 'stayed here' or 'hotel' but it appears to be one large restaurant. TIA!

no, not a hotel. "stayed here" may be in reference to Lake Travis area lodging.

    Are they pet friendly?

No they are not. Not even human friendly. The service sucks.

Try to reach you for Easter reservations? I've left message and received o response.

Yes I believe we tried to call you but your voicemail was full and we could not leave a message. we are full on our Easter reservations and only have the ability for first come first serve for general dining

Since we have never been to this place, our server recommended a few things. I was craving a burger and salad. Please take a look at the pictures. The food was not bad, and the service was very attentive. We ordered dessert with ice cream and enjoyed the ice cream more than the actual dessert. At the end, one of us went to the bathroom and came out fast, and said, " Don't use the bathroom. It's very dirty. That was sad. We took two hours to get here, and now we need to find another place to use the bathroom and wash our hands. So are we going back? I don't know. Front desk help was ok, could be friendlier. I'm kicking myself that I've missed out on the last 5 years! So obviously this is my first time in. I walked in, not knowing what to expect. A lady behind the bar made eye contact with me, greeted me & said sit wherever you want. A lot of tables were taken. There were a couple open, But I'm solo, so I sat up at the bar. Another lady came over and started chatting with me like we were old friends, which I love. God Bless Texas! She was telling me everything is good, you're not going to be disappointed. Burgers are fabulous. And so on. Once she said waffles, I was in! She wondered off cleaning and helping other patrons. I looked over the menu, saw chicken and waffles. I was sold! A young man came over and asked if I had a drink in mind. I said yes. Mexican Coke. Would you believe I've never had Mexican Coke before. It's true. This was my first, right here at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers. Memories being made. To be honest, I don't drink soda much at all. I also said I was ready with my food order too. Chicken and waffles. He said good choice, it's a big Texas shaped waffle (love it) with a big piece of fried chicken. He put my order in and gave me my Coke in a bottle. No fountain type drink. Felt like an 80's Coke commercial with a real glass bottle. Feeling fancy. Since I'm solo, I put my ear phones in and listened to my own music. A little Lenny Kravitz, American Women, if you're interested in what I was listening to. My plate came out, and Oh ! My ! Word !!! Chicken & waffle big as my plate. I nearly cried, gasped, unbelievable! Seriously, this was a solid breakfast, and now I'm really bummed I've missed out for 5 years! I joined the clean plate club even though I was completely stuffed. Chicken was tender, juicy, hot and fried perfectly. Light crispy, not greasy. So, so good. The waffle was light & fluffy, but once I smeared the butter on it and soaked it with syrup, I put the chicken back on top of the waffle and cut away at both. Solid breakfast. Completely epic. Enjoyed every bite. Was in my own little world with my music and good food and an amazing Mexican soda. The service, way top notch. I felt like family. The young man that took my order, Alvaro M, totally chill with me, we talked a little about ourselves. And that I never knew this was here even though I drive by on 620 for work. Truly, great service. As a solo diner, it's nice to have human contact. Even though I had my ear phones in 1 ear, so I could still hear and interact. Had the best service, food, interaction. Couldn't have asked for a better first impression. Can't wait to come back. Parking lot is pretty large. So you shouldn't have a problem finding a place. This seems like an off the beat residential neighborhood with a lot of RV parks, and boat launching area. Like I said, hidden gem!

I grew up eating (and later making) really good chicken fried steak. So I didn't come in casual. I came in ready to evaluate. First things first: this spot is tucked into a strip mall, and if you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it. Keep your eyes open. Walking in, though? Completely different story. The vibe is laid-back, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. Midday on a Wednesday meant it was nice and quiet; no wait, no chaos. Drinks were simple - Mexican Coke for me (always a win), fountain Pepsi for my lunchmate. (it's always nice when they have both options) We both ordered the chicken fried steak because of course we did. That's what brought us here. Sides: Me: green beans + mashed potatoes Them: salad + mashed potatoes Gravy situation: Me: classic Them: chorizo gravy Food came out quickly, which I always appreciate. Let's break it down honestly: The breading on the chicken fried steak? Perfection. Crispy, well done, exactly what you want. The meat itself? That's where things fell short. It needed more tenderizing--cutting into it took effort, and the texture leaned dense and chewy instead of that tender, fork-friendly bite you're hoping for. On top of that, it was missing seasoning, which made the whole thing feel a little flat despite that beautiful crust. The chorizo gravy (per my lunchmate)? Solid. Good flavor. But even that couldn't fully make up for the lack of seasoning in the meat. Sides were a mixed bag. Flavor was there--but mine had noticeable cold spots, like they'd been reheated unevenly. My lunchmate's sides were warm, but not quite hot. Now here's where they win big: The service. Top notch across the board. Everyone was kind, attentive, and welcoming without hovering. The owner even came by to chat for a bit - super friendly, clearly passionate, and we genuinely enjoyed the conversation and hearing about the food. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. Overall? I'd come back. But next time, I'm switching it up. The owner confidently recommended the waffles, and after that conversation, I'm willing to give them a shot. Because while the chicken fried steak didn't quite hit the mark for me this time, the people and the atmosphere? Absolutely worth another visit.

Responses were a bit slow initially, but with a few follow-ups she was helpful and did a good job answering my questions and clarifying details. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, making it a great choice for a festive gathering. Our reservation was in the evening in mid-December, so we did not get to experience the outdoor views, which I imagine are beautiful. That said, the indoor dining experience was still very pleasant. Our waitress was wonderful. She was accommodating, communicative, and professional throughout the evening. The food was tasty and well presented, and overall the group seemed happy with their selections. I ordered the bolognese. It was not the best I have had, but it also did not feel like a standout dish on the menu. I would be open to trying other options next time. Overall, we had a positive experience and would return. We are looking forward to coming back.

The worst dining experience in my whole entire life! Beware…read morewith their outdoor dining area!! They have this ceiling fans open that I don't know what's the reason behind opening it when the weather is so cold. And who puts string lights close to a ceiling fan??? It was a nightmare for me and my family members.. the ceiling fan and all the outdoor dining is a big safety concern! The ceiling fan got broken after it hit the string lights and one of the propellers broke and suddenly flew to my face, luckily I saw it and just turned around but still hit my neck to shoulder area. It was a huge, thick fan propeller and I don't think people will understand this if you didn't experience or saw it in person. Everybody was in shock and panicky because no one is turning off that ceiling fan even if it was still broken and hit ME on my neck! My family had to shout a few times just so everyone is aware to turn off the ceiling fan! Compensated all of our food but it will but our life will never be the same again.. the trauma you this restaurant caused us! And I think the staff wasn't really fully trained to execute an emergency because they don't even know what to do and at the end they just offered me free wine and the calling card of who ever we need to talk incase we have future claims with them. Other than that, one of the staff members were a little bit nosy and staring at us and giving us that annoying look! And that's unacceptable and inappropriate. To conclude this, someone needs to be liable.. definitely not coming back to any restaurants named after this company in future. Luckily, the food and server was good but still not a solution to a horrible accident that could have been prevented by the staff or maintenance. Safety of customers is the top priority but they have ZERO of that yesterday! Thank God for the EMT and for my family who took care of me.

The League Tavern is a gastropub…read more "Gastropub". That word is so 2010's. A decade ago calling yourself a "gastropub" was the coolest thing in the hospitality industry. Now, it is a lost artifact of another decade, along with Swedish House Mafia and Britney Spears. The League calls itself a retro reminder of the eating clubs of the 1920's and 1930's. It is pretty damm good as a gastropub. It would not really want to be an eating club of the Prohibition era. Menus in that era could be pretty awful. Mashed parsnips. Liver and onions. Greens that have been cooked to death. Tough steaks. Low quality lager beer. The Indian Puddings were all right. The fish was great if it was fresh. I wish they would bring back Welsh Rarebit. But the League sticks to a contemporary menu ... And I am glad they do. Their contemporary dishes are just great. I had a faro salad with grilled shrimp on top. The faro salad was everything I would want a grain salad to be. (I have had some awful tabboulehs and quinoa salads in my time.) The shrimp were completely lovely. Prices are high - but that is what comes with being a gastropub. The concept is: Pay more. Eat higher quality. The Lakeway market will certainly support the League in the prices it wants to charge. The selection on the menu - and for that matter the selection at the bar - is fairly restricted. Having a small menu is not a necessary correlate of being a gastropub. Some gastropubs offer you an expansive range of choices. But careful management of the menu choices means that each and every dish can be polished to a high degree of execution finesse. Practice makes perfect. My guess is that the League envisions itself as a neighborhood place - albeit a rich neighborhood place. Their customers are likely to be regulars. The regulars order their favorite dishes over and over. I myself like my bars and grills to be Cheaper, Funkier and With bigger selections on the menu and at the bar itself. So the League is not exactly my style. But what they do, they do well. They are expanding, opening more branches in more locations. They can do this because the League fills a real need in the Lakeway-Bee Cave market. If a Lakeway resident were to invite me to be their guest at the League Tavern, I would be happy to accept that invitation. Especially if they were picking up the check.

I placed macaroni and cheese and brussels sprouts in the cart. Placed the order. I got a text message and an email of my recipe. 11 minutes later I got a text saying that it was ready to pick up. I walked in to the restaurant. It wasn't very busy. I waited not even a minute when a nice women came up to me. She asked if I was picking up an order. I said yes. And said my name, I was trying to get to my text message with my receipt, she already had my bag and was walking back to me. Super quick service. By the time I got home, Urg, traffic on 620, seriously!! The food was warm/hot, so I heated it up for a couple minutes in the toaster oven. The macaroni is actually big shells, and I love that cause the cheese gets inside of the shell and it's cheesy gooey. Cheese was fantastic. Really enjoyed the Mac. Brussels sprouts I feel were just steamed. They didn't have that chard crispy outside. Just plan steamed sprouts. My small meal was delicious. Hoping to actually eat inside and have a cocktail.
