We had the wings with the Chef Eddie's sauce on the side. We split a pear and strawberry salad which also had pecans and blue cheese. I don't recall the vinaigrette but it worked well with the salad. We added a chicken breast for extra protein. For my meal, I had the Norfolk combo with the veggie of the day (succotash). The combo consists of sautéed scallops, shrimp, and lump crabmeat in a buttery sauce. It was excellent! My husband had the NY strip off the new elevated menu. He got the brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries. I forgot to take a picture of the fries, but they were good and hot! He said the strip was very good also. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I liked how we sat inside, but a had a view of the water. It's a nice restaurant with great service!

My husband and I thought the appetizer sampler sounded good and would give us a good idea of their food. The crab cakes with the wonton was not good and the crab dip hardly had any crab in it. The ham biscuits were okay and really the only dish that was as good was the bang bang shrimp. Also even though our waitress was very friendly she hardly checked on us and we had to wait a long time to get our check. The only thing going for this place is the view.

In moderation of course ;) It is literally a cornucopia of thanksgiving desserts. The hubs and I are not in Smithfield often, as it's close to an hour drive from where we are. We found this place when visiting an annual fall vintage antique market where they had a booth. Yes..... I had to control my eyes and stomach. Eating with your eyes is a thing! My better half decided on the lemon blueberry loaf, and I on the hummingbird slice of cake. It's a banana pecan cake with cream cheese frosting. Soo the result was...... it was both slightly dry not as moist. The blueberries in the lemon loaf all sank to the bottom. As for the loaf it was mid soft to hard to swallow. The lemon frosting on top was very good. The hummingbird slice had a nice amount of pecans with the taste of banana, but I also experienced the cake to be dry, even with the recommendation of eating it at room temperature. It was refrigerated, so cold air tends to draw out moisture and dehydrate the cake. They have display cakes, so you do have to ask them for slices, which they will retrieve from the fridge. Overall, it was still good and we would be back to try their cookies and bars! I believe they have some savory focaccia!!!!

Then you can take it up the counter to be cashed out. There is no place to eat inside. Now food wise they have so many amazing items! From sweets like cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pastries and so much more to savory items like bread and spreads and even more. My husband and I grabbed a slice of the hummingbird cake and it was such a treat! Great flavor! Can't wait to try more of their items because I am side if it is like the cake they will be good!

Well, it's absolutely absurd that I've driven past this place as many times as I probably have…read more But today I fixed that & I'm really happy. First the location: it's in a strip mall, which it shares with Kroger, a thrift store, and one of the last Roses stores around. The inside was very nice and had a real country atmosphere. Everything appeared well-kept and clean. As we entered we were quickly greeted and taken to our table. Within a few moments, we had our two sweet teas, and our order was taken. Let's say wow - our order was delivered to our table in maybe 7-8 minutes. I was in total shock. The meals. The wifey has the Monte Cristo French Toast meal. I could tell she liked it a lot. As I look at her taking her first full bite and her eyes are blasting open. She said it was absolutely outstanding. As for me, I had Biscuits & Gravy with potatoes and bacon. I will also tell you I was very happy with the taste and the portion. As for service: We had a young lady named Stephanie. I bet she checked on us 6-7 times during our stay and we were not her only table. She was just that attentive. Total for two of us - $33 which include includes a hefty state and local tax. 12.25% - Virginia and localities have gotten out of control. So I will give this place a solid 5-star review and hope that if you're passing through - and need a nice breakfast or lunch, go on in.

My husband had the gluten-free pancakes and he really enjoyed them. He also got their grilled pork chops which he liked. Their coffee is amazing, strong and hot! We shared the pecan Dijon salad. It was okay. We got a side of fries...hot and just the right amount fit salt. It's a very popular spot as we had to wait a little to be seated. But it is truly worth the wait! We will definitely be back!!
