I arrived safe and sound without incident, to attend a wedding. The lobby and hallways are okay. The ladies room has plenty of stalls and is clean. What stood out to me the most is the main hall/ ballroom where the reception was held. Gorgeous! The dark floor. The over-sized chandeliers. The beautifully decorated tables. I really think that this ballroom can be the perfect setting for many types of events. Even a wedding, birthday party, retirement party, corporate event or holiday party. The wedding was in the evening so I did not have much time to peruse around the exterior. But there is an outdoor deck where events and wedding ceremonies can be held against a beautiful backdrop. When I saw the professional wedding photos I saw how much this location truly had to offer. The happy couple's photos were picturesque. It looked like they were at home on a mansion. I think it is very important to have fantastic places to take photos at a wedding location. There are 4 nearby hotels. They can be very pricey, depending on the time of year. Hampton Inn & Suites -Smithfield is the most affordable.

Friendly staff! There is plenty of parking for guests. The wedding I attended was an outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor reception. The barn can hold a good amount of guests (my friend had around 150 or 175). The max it can hold is 200 guests. There is a covered deck area in the back of the barn perfect place for the bar. The venue offers a bridal suite, chairs, parking, tables, altar, and arch. Nice venue if you're looking for farmhouse/rustic style. Harleys Haven offers venue services for ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement party, elopement's, and rehearsal dinners. Nice setting overall. I would come back again!

My fiance and I attended a wedding here a few weeks ago. The distance from Chesapeake was under and hour, but it felt like forever. The ride home... in the dark... scary. Nevertheless, please exercise extreme caution. The venue ... a barn literally... it was cute. Did it smell... no... not sure if it's a working barn, but everything was fine. Tables were set up inside... the ceremony took place inside as well. The reception followed the ceremony... all under one roof. I understand the pricing is affordable as well. They offer overnight stays as well for a decent price. The wedding party stayed for the weekend and they enjoyed everything. The owners are incredibly involved and take the time to get to know their guests. They're welcoming, laid-back, and the kind of people you can laugh and joke around with. Over the years, I've gotten to know many of the regulars by name, and SummerWind truly feels more like a community than a winery. My girlfriends and I never miss bingo night. We love the atmosphere, the people, and spending the evening enjoying great food and wine together. The prizes are fun too--if you're lucky enough to win! Whether it's a glass of wine, food, or the infamous carafe of sangria, it always adds to the excitement. The food is excellent, especially the fig and goat cheese board. They also offer seasonal menu items that are always worth trying, which keeps every visit interesting. If you're looking for amazing wine, delicious food, fun events, and genuinely wonderful people, SummerWind Winery is a place you'll want to visit again and again. It's one of those rare places where you feel welcomed the moment you walk in and leave looking forward to your next visit. Cheers to the SummerWind family!
