Kemyah at the front desk set the tone right away. She was super friendly, got me checked in quickly, and gave me a quick breakdown of where everything was in the building. It was ridiculously hot out the day I stayed, so walking into a ice-cold room with the AC cranking was amazing. The bed was really comfortable, too. The room comes with a kitchen that actually has what you need like plates, bowls, glasses, silverware so all you have to do is supply the food. I did notice two light switches that didn't seem connected to anything, but honestly didn't care enough to ask about it. A couple of cool details worth mentioning: 1. Laundry setup is solid and clutch. the machines take tap-to-pay and there was actually a hamper in the room to carry stuff down. 2. The gym is a good size if you just need to get a solid workout in, even if the equipment selection is a bit basic. They even had free headphones out for people who forgot theirs. 3. The location itself is awesome with lots of shopping and food options super close by. Solid 5 stars for an extended stay and will definitely keep this spot on my radar for future trips.

The bride's room where she gets ready is just a bathroom and the only seat is a toilet. They were unprepared to give instructions to the wedding party and waited Until the ceremony start time to arrange the wedding party. Once we were seated in the ceremony room, which was after the scheduled start time we waited an additional 15 minutes while they cycled through several songs that were not on the brides list of songs. They were not prepared for the requested songs. During the ceremony they moved the dressing partition next to the sand mixing which greatly distracted from the bride and groom. After the ceremony they refused pictures without masks and asked us to leave. The bride, groom, and pastor did not have to wear masks the entire time inside but everyone else did. We could not even drop the masks for pictures. We were there for one and a half hours and it cost $800 and all we got was some paper flyers, a sand glass container, a certificate, and constant reminders about masks. Do NOT recommend at all.

The pictures online absolutely do NOT do it justice. Our family of 3 (2 adults and a teenager) spent EIGHT days at this B&B and the location was beyond expectation! This place is a nature lover's dream. We listened to red wing blackbirds, cardinals, and great crested flycatchers sing to us from the trees. A Momma turkey brought her line of tiny babies out to walk across the yard several days in a row. Little boxed turtles scuttled across the yard. Deer popped in and out, frolicking around the property throughout the day. We watched a bald eagle sit in the tree nearby. Fish would jump in the water, herons would dive in and kayakers and small fishing boats went floating by. The pool was beautiful and immaculately kept. We stayed in the two bedroom Roosevelt retreat. It was beautiful! Beds were incredibly comfortable and the rooms were very spacious. The shower had cascading upper showerheads and mid level jets (similar to a high end luxury spa I once visited in Arizona). There was a jetted tub, luxurious shower products, comfy robes and slippers. Rooms were made every day and we were left mints on our pillows. What we loved even more than the beautiful location was the owners themselves. Paige and Mark felt like family by the end of our stay (the kind of family you LIKE to spend time with). They were incredibly generous, thoughtful, and kind. We found ourselves lingering over breakfast with them because they were just such lovely people. They made suggestions on restaurants (including the half price fish and chips!), places to see, things to maybe avoid. Watching them in the kitchen was like having a personal chef for an amazing breakfast every single morning. Everything from eggs benedict, breakfast quesadillas to a traditional English breakfast - never the same thing twice. On our last day, Mark asked our son if he had any special requests and our son opted for a second round of Frank Sinatra's favorite breakfast sandwich (who knew - but it was AMAZING!). They even wrapped up our leftover breakfast food each day so we could snack on it later. They offered hot coffee and orange juice every morning. We also had access to coffee, tea and various tasty snacks throughout the day. I ate way too many yummy brownies and cookies, and my son inhaled Paige's banana muffins. She even made an extra batch so he could take some home on the day we left. This was Southern hospitality and high class luxury at it's finest. Everything about this place was top notch. The breakfasts were also good. Though it was mostly a set menu, so little change between days. That's sadly where I have to end with the positives. The whole hotel felt like it was once lavish and beautiful, but has since been neglected and permitted to fall into disrepair. Everywhere you looked you would see something in need of attention. Drywall corner tape was peeling throughout our room. Leaks had been repaired (I hope) but the damage to the walls and ceiling had not. Sections of outside trim was missing (a welcome invitation to critters). The pool tiles were mostly cracked or damaged which could be extreme hazardous to bare feet. Fixtures and fittings throughout the hotel clearly had been installed with little to no attention to detail. Like i said, it looked nice once upon a time, but needs A LOT of effort and money spent on it to get back to that level. The price they're charging today doesn't match. The cleanliness of the room was also far from acceptable. Under the bed and sofa clearly hadn't been cleaned in a year. Surfaces that were in eye sight were dusty, pet hair was in the carpet, and we found used tissues and makeup pads in the room after we checked in. There are spider webs on the ceiling of the lobby, and dust caked into the air vents (improperly installed I might add) in the bathrooms. We also ran out of shampoo and body wash on the second day.... meaning these were not checked between guests. The hair dryer was broken. The shower head was so powerful it hurt to use. There were never any cushions on any of the outdoor furniture. And part of the pool area was covered in fruit berries from a tree rendering it unusable. Not once cleaned in the 4 days we stayed. Not to mention trash in the flower beds that had not been cleaned up from other guests. But maybe worse (certainly more inconvenient) than that, there is no WiFi or cell service in the hotel. So any planning of activities, uber orders, keeping touch with work/family has to be done away from the hotel. And though we didn't plan on any TV watching, the TVs don't work. So don't plan on any internet or TV access during your stay despite it being listed as an amenity. Once upon a time this could have been a grand place to stay, and it seems like the owners are still living in the past. Despite the above, we enjoyed our time, but won't visit again. 2 stars is honestly pretty generous a review.

Our room didn't have any towels. We had to request them. Our breakfast was delivered to our room which in theory was nice but the quiche was cold and the yogurt cup was expired. Plus they brought us 2 hot coffees with only 2 half and half's and no sugar. The TV in our room stoped working and staff was supposed to be on sight until 10pm per our welcome email but left at 5. This also prevented us from having a fire in our room. Service was not good and for the price, you can book another place with just as nice of aesthetics with staff that will value hospitality. We emailed the hotel and gave them time to respond and we still haven't heard back from them. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
