Prices are very fair for what is offered. This event is popular and they squeeze a lot of tables and chairs in for it. We found it moderately difficult to walk around the seating area, a constant crowd was moving in and out as they refilled plates and finished dining. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and it was obvious watching they were trying hard to keep up with diners but they just couldn't. The brunch includes all you can drink champagne- getting that first glass took forever (same problem with coffee), getting refills was even more difficult. Food is set up buffet style, the main courses and sides in a separate room from diners. Dessert is set up in the room you eat. Traffic flow once you left the dining room wasn't bad at all, they set up the buffet as stations rather than one long table and that helped I am sure. They offered a wide variety of items from an omelet station to carved meats to typical breakfast and lunch sides. The chicken cordon blue and the fried chicken were particularly tasty. One thing that stood out was there were items offered that hadn't been on the event flyer. It was nice having some extra surprise choices! The pastry tables were superb. Everything we sampled (and we sampled a lot...) was delicious, from scones to cup cakes to mousse. There was a huge variety, including a chocolate fountain with all the fun dippers you'd want. We found this to be a value price wise, the food was delicious, I just wish it wasn't so crowded and hectic. It's probably worth doing again next year.

The pictures online absolutely do NOT do it justice. Our family of 3 (2 adults and a teenager) spent EIGHT days at this B&B and the location was beyond expectation! This place is a nature lover's dream. We listened to red wing blackbirds, cardinals, and great crested flycatchers sing to us from the trees. A Momma turkey brought her line of tiny babies out to walk across the yard several days in a row. Little boxed turtles scuttled across the yard. Deer popped in and out, frolicking around the property throughout the day. We watched a bald eagle sit in the tree nearby. Fish would jump in the water, herons would dive in and kayakers and small fishing boats went floating by. The pool was beautiful and immaculately kept. We stayed in the two bedroom Roosevelt retreat. It was beautiful! Beds were incredibly comfortable and the rooms were very spacious. The shower had cascading upper showerheads and mid level jets (similar to a high end luxury spa I once visited in Arizona). There was a jetted tub, luxurious shower products, comfy robes and slippers. Rooms were made every day and we were left mints on our pillows. What we loved even more than the beautiful location was the owners themselves. Paige and Mark felt like family by the end of our stay (the kind of family you LIKE to spend time with). They were incredibly generous, thoughtful, and kind. We found ourselves lingering over breakfast with them because they were just such lovely people. They made suggestions on restaurants (including the half price fish and chips!), places to see, things to maybe avoid. Watching them in the kitchen was like having a personal chef for an amazing breakfast every single morning. Everything from eggs benedict, breakfast quesadillas to a traditional English breakfast - never the same thing twice. On our last day, Mark asked our son if he had any special requests and our son opted for a second round of Frank Sinatra's favorite breakfast sandwich (who knew - but it was AMAZING!). They even wrapped up our leftover breakfast food each day so we could snack on it later. They offered hot coffee and orange juice every morning. We also had access to coffee, tea and various tasty snacks throughout the day. I ate way too many yummy brownies and cookies, and my son inhaled Paige's banana muffins. She even made an extra batch so he could take some home on the day we left. This was Southern hospitality and high class luxury at it's finest. Everything about this place was top notch. It was actually HARD to leave because we loved Paige and Mark and their little slice of heaven so much. I cannot recommend this place enough!!

There is a newly constructed walkway that cuts the trip time. The bar has specials throughout the week and there is a brewery right across the walkway. Service throughout the hotel was great, the front desk, bar, cleaning staff. There was usually water out in the lobby, which was nice. At times the trash overflowed or the ice wasn't replenished. But also there was one time when there was citrus water, cucumber water and lemonade out for guests, all at once. I thought that was very thoughtful. I overheard the staff interacting very positively with each other, thanking one another for their help/support. That was great to see. Our room was clean and spacious. AC definitely worked (which I loved, hubs not so much.) Nice big windows and the curtains blocked out most of the light, just not along the top of the windows. No flashing smoke detector, which is a peeve of mine. Speaking of peeves, the bathroom is beautiful. However, I hate that these hotels have taken on these barn doors. I would like to simply close and secure my door. This was worse bc it was a double door, loud and clunky. This led to unnecessary noise at night. Often times, I'd slide the 2 doors together, turn around and one would slide right back open. And no matter what I did, the doors wouldn't close all the way. I included a photo. Moving on, the shower was huge with a double shower head AND a closing shower door. However, the water pressure was very poor. Same goes for the toilet. It would, at times, take several flushes to clear the toilet. TMI, but hey... You've read this far. Lastly, the towels leave little white fibers behind which was a nuisance as well. Overall, the things I mentioned were annoying... But wouldn't keep me from coming back. At least I know what I'm in for next time.

Pros: * beautiful space -- the lobby is well appointed, contemporary, and bright; the rooms, while identical, also have an elegant, modern feel to them * the floor to ceiling bay windows make even a street-facing room feel elevated * Great location with a beautiful water view * friendly, helpful staff Cons: * the upkeep is poor -- throughout the hotel, you can see significant signs of wear and tear (peeling paint, torn or stained bedsheets, etc.); daily room cleaning may not refill used coffee, bath towels; * more significant than everyday upkeeps are the major broken infrastructures: only one out of three elevator is working, and it is extremely slow. Despite this hiccup, the hotel insists that everyone take the elevator rather than using the stairs (reserved for fire emergency only); the pool seems to be out-of-service this season as well. * some design flaws -- the bathroom's double barn doors seem like a particularly poor choice -- functionally, they're bad at keeping privacy because there is often a gap right in the middle unless you close the doors super carefully; aesthetically, they will seem outdated before long. Every room has a spacious "mudroom"-like entry -- this seems like a waste of space. The rooms do not have any sort of desk space -- the cabinet is too high, the night stand is too low. * bad water pressure and poor water temperature control * very loud AC (if it's working at all -- when we arrived, it was blowing warm air, but the front desk was able to send a maintenance guy to come fix it for us). * no in-hotel coin-op laundry * no breakfast (as compared to Hilton's Hampton Inn line) Mediocre: * The restaurant is fine. Ok food, a bit over-priced (3 stars)

Spacious, plenty of parking and everyone in attendance (wedding reception) raved about how they loved the venue too. I am not sure how long this venue has been in existence, but I travel nearby all the time and had no clue it existed. Well now I am in the know, and I will definitely keep it in mind when deciding on venues from a variety of upcoming events. I am not sure if the venue provides food/beverage, but they do allow one to bring in food and beverages... which is a plus. Looks like the office hours for this place is daily except Sunday... open until 3pm if you have questions or concerns. So if you're thinking about a venue to house/seat 200 guests or less consider this place. Have fun and enjoy life :)
