First impressions- Very friendly over the phone when making an appointment. Bright, clean and inviting as soon as you walk in the door. Upon choosing my pedicure I was offered a beverage, from wine to juice to water. (Yes please!) Several scents are offered for the pedicure. I went with Crystal Waters (in preparation for my cruise), and as soon as she poured the first round into the water, I knew I made the right choice. The tools used came right out of a package- not something I'm accustomed to but highly appreciative! Jenny did the pedicure- Happy with the results! (And she's really sweet!) Omg I loved my first visit to the " The Nail Nook" in Stockton .. I'm from the Bay I came to visit my besting and needed an emergency visit. They took me right away... I got my acrylic soaked off by Ty he was so gentle and saved all my nails they looked and felt great after. Mina the owner is super sweet and professional she helped him do my color and she recommended the builder gel which my nails needed after acrylics so long . I absolutely love the shop I will definitely be back. Typically I go to the shop in Lodi MD Beyond Polish but I decided to try the new shop in Stockton and I and absolutely excited and pleased with me services. The shop was very clean and welcoming. If you're thinking about trying this place, I'd say definitely skip it. It's right next to my house, so I figured I'd give it a shot but left feeling really uncomfortable. I called ahead and made an appointment for a gel mani/pedi at 11 AM on 4/17. When I got there, Tina started my manicure. Toward the end, she asked if I was okay with someone else doing the pedicure or if I preferred she do the pedicure. I told her she could go ahead and do it. She brought me over to the pedicure chair and started, but after a minute or two, she got caught up in a conversation with the guy at the front desk and another nail tech. Out of nowhere, she stopped, grabbed her stuff, and walked off to the back. As she was leaving, she looked upset and said, "I'm sorry, don't worry--they'll take care of you," with tears in her eyes. And another nail tech finished my pedicure. The guy at the front came over to apologize and said that unless I had specifically asked for Tina, he had to be fair to the other nail techs. Okay, I get that--but honestly, that kind of thing should be figured out *before* a customer even walks in for their appointment. If that's how your shop runs, then make sure your staff knows the rules so no one ends up in an awkward situation. Also, their prices don't match the quality. I paid $82 (before tip!) for a basic one-color gel mani and pedi, which is kind of insane. And now, just one day later, my manicure is already chipped and my pedicure. For that price, I would expect my manicure to last me AT LEAST a week. Take your money elsewhere. ** I will never step foot in this nail shop again, not even for a free fix. $90 down the drain. read more

There are no armrests and I kept trying to lean without falling out. Judy Nguyen did my poly gel fill and my nails are pretty. These are my experiences I first had my nails done by Sara. Great job second time she did what she wanted to do. I had my picture right on the table on my phone. Didn't even look at it. I told her she said we can do that next time I agreed I was kind of feeling her out. I was very disappointed when I walked out because I didn't get what I want and I really didn't wanna wait till next month so I put a review on yelp and the owner Mins got a hold of me well I went back in as per mina's invitation and I had Sara fix my nails she drilled off the polish put the correct polish and i went on my way my nails were so thin three of them broke within a week and a half. I mean, they just snapped off with hardly any pressure. I called the salon and mina was gonna fix the three for free. Oh I decided to get a new set. Mina gave me a deal 25 bucks believe it or not she did the same thing she cut my nails short. They're all different lengths and I told her you could trim them but just a little and I said wait. Wait, that's too much. Oh no, I still have to shape them I didn't understand what she meant like shaping them would make them longer I just sat there and they looked decent. I wish I just got the three nails fixed. I don't know what the deal is. They want you to stay there and be their patron but they don't listen anyways that's my experience. You may have a different one. It's a shame that I feel this way because I loved Sara's Work, but when they don't listen to me, I'm not paying money to get there ideas.! Mina's job was OK when Sarah didn't my nails they were just about perfect but the second time she must've been in La La Land I don't know, but like I said you try them you may like them. I went to this place based on the 4 star reviews & due to it being closer to my home. Although I was satisfied with the fact that my sister & I were seated very quickly on a Saturday afternoon & the cleanliness of the place, unfortunately it's somewhere I wouldn't return to EVER. 1. I went in for a mani & pedi for both my sister & I. Upon arrival & being seated, I informed both nail techs we wanted regular polish on our nails. Both nail techs ( a male working on my nails & a lady working on my sister's, in which we didn't get their names ) tried convincing us to get gel, but that's not what we were looking for that day. We were asked THREE times just through the prep of the pedicure & we kept telling them no. Pedicure prep was very bare minimum, especially for me paying for the 2nd option with was a little higher priced than the 1st one. My sister also informed the lady that was working on her pedi that she DID NOT want a trim & just wanted her toenails to be shaped, the lady did so anyway.. 2. After our pedi, they started working on our mani. The lady asked for a FOURTH time about gel polish + tried doing some more convincing. After I told her no again, she started having an attitude & was visibly irritated. The man that did my nails didn't shape my nails & left parts of my nails on the second coat untouched, so I had parts of my nails opaque & other parts completely covered. It is day 3 & both of our nails are both completely peeling/chipping. I understand regular polish isn't as durable as gel, but I've never had a problem with chipping while getting regular polish. After the lady finished my sister's nails, she sat across the pedi station at another tech's desk, both looking at us, talking & making faces. 3. We witnessed 5-6 people OFFERED LOYALTY CARDS while paying for their services & was told if they got any services over a certain amount ( it was between $30-75, I forgot ) they would get stamps & get a discount at the end of the card completion. I paid well above $100 & I didn't get offered a loyalty card for neither myself nor my sister. 4. We were there for an hr & half, no conversations were started with us. Both techs sat there completely silent, besides when they were trying to convince us to get gel & could barely acknowledge us as we were being serviced. I recall myself trying to start a conversation with the man doing my nails & no reply was given lol. I've honestly NEVER sat in a chair at a nail salon & wasn't talked to, let alone given attitude for not wanting a service they were told we weren't looking for. - As someone who gets their nails done monthly, the service here was very disappointing & made me uncomfortable. I wouldn't spend another dime here. Although prices are on the cheaper end, I'd rather spend more somewhere else.. read more

I preface this by saying I've received good services up until last Wednesday when I brought in my teenager to get her nails/pedicure done for her promotion. my daughter was sitting in Sara's chair for about 15 minutes for an acrylic full set and out of nowhere She asked her if she could take another customer and asked her to get into a Pedicure chair. I rejected her request and asked that she please finish her nails as this was a scheduled appointment ahead of time. Sarah began to speak in her language to other nail tech and had an attitude the entire time she was doing my child's nails. Jenny, who works there talk me into beginning my daughter's Pedicure, which I agree to, but I had one question for Sara, which she responded with an attitude and rolled her eyes at me. I couldn't believe the unprofessionalism my daughter and I received during this visit. I had to tell her to stop doing my daughter's nails and I didn't no longer wanted her to work on them. I directly spoke to the owner who defended this employee. Sara then went to the owner and continued it to speak in her negative language did they know I had Google translate on. Well guess what my daughter's nails broke within two days I text the owner's number back and let them know that it wouldn't be fixed which they agreed to do. Fast-forward to today I dropped my daughter off and waited in the parking lot. My daughter told me how uncomfortable she felt because Sara kept staring at her and now techs were laughing. Jenny is the sweetest person here and does a good job at pedicures and gel builder. I don't wanna take that from her. Although this shop is very nice and new I wouldn't recommend booking with Sara who has a terrible attitude and we'll talk crap about you in her language. Also most of the text here do not know how to replicate 3-D art that you may bring from a picture they will do as they like or can and still charge you for something that looks like nothing that you show them. When booking here be very direct if you want certain services and book with the owner, Mina. Hopefully this establishment takes into consideration that its customers want an enjoyable experience that compares to the price of the services they pay for. I was once recommending this business as a business to come to, but after these two experiences back to back, I can no longer do that. read more

This place sucks. First off my nails look so uneven. I asked the girl to make them even but they are looking so uneven. After buffing and cutting my cuticles she went straight to putting nail color on. Didn't do massage, didn't put any lotion/oil on my hands and after she was done painting my nails went to the next client. My cuticles were looking so dry and disgusting. The girl who was came to get me off the pedicure chair. I asked her twice to put something on as I was really confused why they were looking so dry and it shouldn't be like this. She tells me I can't put oil or lotion on now bc there's nail polish on already. I told her to check my cuticles they are looking so dry. She goes "oh yah" then told the other girl named pinky to massage my hands and put a little on on the cuticles. Now they somewhat look presentable.
