Great service and value. Portions were very large. Ordered tacos, open croissant sandwich, and tempeh burger. The tempeh burger was the best thing of what we tried. 4/5 However, the other dishes weren't very good. It was difficult to tell what the actual croissant was like, but it was a bit tough to cut and chew. So were the tacos. Definitely depends on the dish, and good for if you're already in the area. Not something I'd recommend travelling for.

4.5 stars. First time here and came after 9pm to try out their happy hour menu. The atmosphere was friendly, and very laid back. After being seated and given a menu, it took awhile before we saw the server again to request the happy hour menu. We are not vegetarians but do like to try different foods. Actual food service was more prompt. We ordered the Naam burger platter, the Superfries and the brownie supreme. The entrées were surprisingly good for vegetarian dishes! They were neither salty, greasy or leaving you with a heavy feeling afterwards. The texture of the Naam burger was satisfying with its slight crisp surface, similar to a pan seared hamburger patty. Didn't like the tangy-savory miso gravy that came on the side for the fries on the burger platter. However, the miso gravy in the Superfries dish was well balanced by the guacamole and cheese. The fresh veggies on both plates complimented the food. To end our meal, the warmed brownie supreme was delicious and not too sweet. It was a modest serving of brownie with walnuts, quality vanilla ice cream and housemade blueberry sauce. Having previously tried three vegetarian restaurants along Main St., the Naam seems to stand out with its more wholesome offerings. We look forward to returning to this establishment!

This is a vegan restaurant and I had high hopes from it. I loved the ambience. Both indoor and outdoor sitting has a charm to it. The food was okay. I really felt the dragon bowl is a bit too dry and lacks flavors. Tacos were good. I liked the flavors. But the service of this place was horrible. They only had one person taking care of all the tables. They never offered cutlery, tissues or anything themselves and even after asking they took almost 30 min. We were literally done by food by then. So I would rate 5 for its ambience but 2 for service and food. Maybe one time try place!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE If you're looking for something vegetarian or vegan in town, there's the one and only original - at least when it comes to reputation: good eats and good service at a price that's not too crazy! === 2. FOOD Naam Bowl ($16) Organic brown rice, topped with steamed veggies flavoured with the Naam-signature miso gravy and then with tofu, shredded carrots and beets. This might be my favourite dish between the two we tried today! Maui-Maui Burger ($18.5) A vegan soy protein patty topped with pineapple, water chestnuts and teriyaki sauce, accompanied by a salad and sesame fries. The burger was decent overall, but the patty was a bit of a letdown as it crumbled easily, which made eating the burger harder. But eh sesame fries - basically seasoned potato wedges were great as was the miso gravy :) === 3. SERVICE The service was great from check-in through bill payment with constant checks and patience with a couple of kiddos at our table. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's about as earthy as the ingredients - Naam offers a cozy, aged environment that reflects the cuisine that its served - where it's back to basics. Large groups could be challenged here, but there are plenty of smaller tables inside and in an adjacent semi-outside environment. Folks with baby strollers and wheelchairs may be a little challenged in some spots. Parking is available on the street outside and around the block.

I ordered delivery with Uber Eats for The Naam, I usually eat at the restaurant, third time delivery with Uber Eats. I ordered the fries with miso gravy. The fries were good. This is also the first time I tried the fries with miso gravy. The miso gravy is different but I dipped every frie in it. Like others said, it is an acquired taste but I would try it again. I also ordered The Buddha's Feast. The Buddha's Feast was as good as when I had it at the restaurant. The food was delivered in good time and was still warm. I have been going to the Naam since the early 1990's, The food is consistently delicious and the service alway polite, prompt and professional.

Very delicious- service was excellent and attentive and the vibes are great, was sat almost immediately even at Saturday mid day. Menu was extensive and a nice escape from the singular veggie burger at other restaurants. Was a small wait for food and drink, however I enjoy this as a chance to catch up with company and it ensured quality in the drink/dishes. will come again, make sure to stop in for vegitarian dishes!

Apparently it's the oldest natural food restaurant in Vancouver and unlike the rest of businesses in sleepy Vancouver it's open 24/7. The wait wasn't very long on a Tuesday evening and surprisingly also very busy. There was a lady singing in the background as entertainment. Ordered the Naam golden bowl which was a large serving of vegetables and brown rice. The miso gravy was on point. Just enough to flavour the bowl but not overpowering. Prices are not so bad either and service was excellent. It's so good to see a vegetarian menu that wasn't just made up of beans. Great place to chill and catch up with friends in a great neighbourhood.

Gluten free corn quesadilla with beans. Fries and salad on the side. Surprisingly delicious!

A classic vegetarian stop in Vancouver, and a local favourite as well. Love that they open until late and that they always serve a delicious variety of healthy food. They've been taking good COVID measures as well, keeping hand sanitizer by the door and keeping tables apart, so that's appreciated. We ordered their only gluten free quesadilla - a corn tortilla with cheese and beans inside. I've never had a bean quesadilla but we were so pleasantly surprised - this was one of the BEST quesadillas I've ever had. I don't think I would order any other quesadilla! We ordered the combo that came with fries and salad, it was really good value and filled both of us up. Can't wait to come back again.

The Naam is an amazing spot for people looking for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. Everything on the menu is an option for people who are vegetarian and many things are vegan. I am a huge fan of this restaurant due to the diversity that they offer. We went for my birthday breadsticks and we had a good meal. The omelet was great and a big portion size that would leave anyone feeling full. It has great fillings and toppings. And you can get it dairy free with vegan cheese. The miso Benny is less like a traditional penny and more like an open face burger on a pita. I say that because if you've ever had a traditional Benny it is more egg than meat ratio. And that wasn't the case in the miso Benny. The 5 star burger patty is the main character in this meal. It is a large patty that is not only big but thick. I wouldn't order this with a traditional Benny in mind more of a richer and meatier version, that is vegetarian. The miso gravy and home fries are a great side and always a great snack.

    Tuscan Nachos

One of my best friends always raved about this place and wanted me to check it out. We finally figured out a time to drop by. Boy oh boy I can see why this place was among their favourites. I'm a full-blown carnivore but I was greatly surprised by how much the Naam. Setting isn't all too special for starters. It's got an older look and feel. Stuff you would be used to seeing a dozen or so years ago. It's also not greatly ventilated which was a minor annoyance. There was some live music so that was definitely neat to experience and take in. We shared a plate of the Tuscan nachos for starters. My experience with nachos for the most part is having restaurants throw a bunch of chips, a few toppings, and then chunks of cheese before heating it up making for a less than ideal experience. The Naam definitely exceeded expectations here. Lots of chips to be expected but also plenty of tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos as well and a lot of cheese spread throughout. Was very happy since it meant we didn't have to eat a third to half a plate of just nachos. The salsa dip as well was very good. There was a good amount of spiciness that wasn't overwhelming. For my main, I ordered the Gold Dragon Bowl. I'm just going to get it out of the way but I completely ate this dish the wrong way. I was excited to have some of the miso gravy with my vegetables but hadn't realized it was all that gravy was at the very bottom. Ended up eating virtually all my vegetables as is. That said, the miso gravy was really delicious with the fries and tofu. It was my first time eating alfalfa sprouts so that was a nice addition to the dish. It was definitely very tasty and something I would like to go back and have again. The portions were huge for the most part and I really felt like I was getting my money's worth. All in all, I enjoyed the Naam a lot more than I would have expected. I'd definitely want to go back and try some of the other dishes and see what else is in store. I'm definitely not a fan of eating my vegetables but I think this restaurant has an idea of how to make a generous serving of vegetables taste delicious and something to look forward to. An easy recommendation to try out at least once. Would love to try their desserts as well one day.

Jam Cafe, Vancouver Jam Cafe is my favorite brunch spot. Anywhere. That sounds like an exaggeration. It isn't. I've been traveling to Vancouver for work for almost a decade, and every single trip includes a stop at Jam. If I'm lucky, two. I've also become that coworker who convinces everyone to meet outside at 7:45 in the morning so we can be part of the first seating at 8:00. Thankfully, we're all from the East Coast and have been awake since 5:00 anyway. Over the years I've successfully JAMfluenced more business travelers than I'd like to admit. And yes, it's still worth the wait even if you're not first in line. The restaurant itself is tiny. Cozy farmhouse vibes, mismatched decorations covering the walls, and maybe 15 tables between the dining room and patio. It feels more like someone's favorite neighborhood breakfast spot than one of Vancouver's brunch institutions. The menu is comfort food turned up to eleven. Everything is indulgent, creative, and somehow still balanced. You can tell the kitchen starts with great ingredients because every component tastes like it could stand on its own. I try to branch out every visit... and then usually end up ordering the Tater Tot Bowl anyway. Crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, Mexican street corn relish, and ridiculously good pulled pork. It's the kind of dish that sounds like it shouldn't work, but every bite somehow gets better than the last. And then there are the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are enormous. They're also one of the best brunch dishes I've ever eaten. Birdfluencer Lorraine M. declared them the best pancakes she's ever had, and after several visits, I don't have much of an argument. Service is exactly what it needs to be. Friendly, efficient, and quick. The staff knows there's a line forming outside before the doors even open, but you never feel rushed. Overall, Jam Cafe has officially become part of my Vancouver tradition. At this point, a work trip to the city doesn't really start until I've had breakfast here. If you're visiting Vancouver and only have time for one brunch, this would be my pick without a second thought.

We were having gorgeous weather in Vancouver so we decided to eat on the covered patio. The place is pretty cozy, but was only moderately busy when we went. They have a pretty good menu with lots a Benedict's and a build your own breakfast option that seemed pretty nice. I took the recommendation from our server and got the bacon benny. It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. Fried potatoes, truffle oil, and a lemon squeeze to bring it all together. My wife got the brunch burger and she loved it. It was a messy breakfast burger that a lot of places have but this one was done right. A poached oozy egg, on a burger patty with american cheese, the best burger cheese in my opinion, bacon, hollandaise and arugula on a brioche bun! It came with tater tots and they were nice and crispy just like she likes them. Well, why didn't I give it five stars you may be asking? Great question. Here it is, each plate came with a side that was just awful. Mine had some "fresh" fruit that nearly made me laugh. It consisted of the saddest, limpest piece of watermelon I have ever seen this side of a trash can. I also had an old crusty orange wedge and a single grape. My wife got a slimy side salad that I think was holding on for dear life. Both, we deemed inedible and moved on immediately. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. But first, the food - I ordered scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage and paid an extra $1 for truffled lemon potatoes. The verdict? 4 out of 5. While he loved the tomato soup he chose on the side, he was less enamoured by the benny itself. I had a taste and was underwhelmed by a forkful of overripe avocado and slightly fishy-tasting salmon. We finished with an order of beignets which despite being freshly-fried, were bland; although the accompanying strawberry sauce was deliciously tangy-sweet. Onto the service. This place spins like a top, and I mean that in a good way. Although we came at a peak time, all front of the house staff we encountered -- from the hostess to our bubbly server, to the smooth manager -- struck a perfect balance of being in flow, working flawlessly together, and maintaining light conversation with us.
