I've been here before and the food was good. We decided to try it again. The staff is friendly and great. Location is great and nice vibe inside but the food was just ok. I liked the guacamole and cheese fundido was delish! I ordered the fish taco and the cease and desist. The cease and desist was delicious but the fish taco...not the greatest. The fish portion was so tiny and the batter was not crispy. It looked like a small fish stick. Another thing is the tacos are tiny. For the price. It's not worth it. We had a good meal, but for the price and quality. It just wasn't it for me.

The tacos are always a hit. This place is very IG friendly. It's a little loud... so if you can't handle a lot of noise ... I wouldn't recommend. This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Hamilton. If you go for the food and drinks.... You won't be disappointed... also the music selection is always great!

My FAVOURITE local restaurant, hands down. I love the Mule! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! They support diversity and the food is incredible! Best part...the entire menu is gluten free. This place is paradise for me. The drinks pack a punch and are delicious. The menu is diverse and interesting, and I can order ALL of it. Being gluten-free (by medical necessity) is so hard sometimes. Seeing lobster mac n cheese or cheese sticks and knowing you can't partake. At the mule, whatever I see that looks exciting I can have. I first visited, because they were hosting a drag brunch during Pride last June. Performing was the beautiful, kind and talented @crystalquartzqueen (Insta handle). This was my first drag event and I only wish I hadn't waited so long (I work way too much lol). The show was amazing! I had so much fun. And the food was incredible. I ordered: EL BENNY $20 CHURRO WAFFLE, POACHED EGGS, BACON, PICKLED RED ONIONS, HOLLANDAISE, GUAJILLO + CILANTRO. SERVED WITH CRISPY SPICED POTATOES (from the menu) You would never know this food is gluten-free. It's just delicious and a total indulgence. I returned for an evening of Drag Bingo about a month later. This was hosted by @troyboy_entertainment. It was the most fun I've had in years. Troy Boy was "Ah-Ahmazing" and @rubyyyjones was performing, along with Victoria Jones. They are all so talented and funny...just amazing. They even took pictures at the end. Lot of love in that room. Support local drag! That's just the atmosphere of The Mule. Inclusion, easygoing, fun, great food and drink. I even returned in December to get gift cards for my bosses because I wanted them to experience this amazing restaurant. The other two visits, I had tacos. Wow! Their tacos. I know I tried Salty Pig and Buffalo Fried Chicken. There were others and everything was just incredible. I love tequila also, and their spicy marg is to die for! They also have a great tequila selection. The only problem here is that I live in Seaforth, so I don't get to go as often as I'd like. If they were in my town, I'd probably be there every night. I can't wait to attend more drag events and very much looking forward to their Pride events next year. But I have to get back for those delish tacos much sooner than that! Stop in. You will not be disappointed, especially if you are unable to eat gluten. The service is also top notch. Never a bad experience and they are all so friendly and on top of everything. You empty that drink, they are there. Love the decor too. The walls are so bright and colourful and the atmosphere is one of fun and chill. Will return again and again!

[2.5/5] - Was really excited to chow down on some tacos after a morning of hiking at Albion Falls but these unfortunately really missed the mark. Chose the 4 taco combo for $16.75 + tax on their take out menu where you have the choice between 4 assorted flavours they have to offer (1. brussels sprout, 2. fish, 3. cease & desist, 4. vegan cease & desist, or 5. achiote chicken). First of all, really questionable decision to make them all in hard shell tacos with no substitution for soft shell. Secondly, their hard shell tacos really looked like the ones from the Old El Paso kits you beg your mom to get for you at the grocery store as a kid and then realize how bad they actually were when you grow up - or well at least for me lol. Since we did take out, by the time we got home (10 min drive) to eat it, the tacos were already stale and some were so soggy they broke in the box - disappointing. I just think that softshell could have solve a lot of the main issues I had with these tacos. On the brighter side, their fillings inside the chicken and fish tacos were probably the best pick of the bunch. However, not the best chicken and fish tacos I've ever hard. Sadly, the "mixture of beef and pork" meat in their cease & desist taco looked like and tasted like taco bell meat. Their vegan cease & desist was underwhelming because I was really looking forward to the mango crema (creative) but it didn't deliver cause I could hardly taste it. Lastly, for their brussels sprouts taco, the brussels sprouts themselves were well charred giving it good flavor resulting in a solid veg option. Service was very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. Place was easy to find in DT Hamilton but you will have to find street parking. Overall, the tacos on their own are priced between $4.50 - $5.75 averaging Toronto taco prices but not delivering on that same quality. Definitely could've been better.

Love the vibes, definitely a fun upbeat bar/restaurant. All staff were very friendly and food was amazing we loved the honey garlic buttermilk taco. They also had a huge selection for alcoholic beverages

Been here a couple times and the food never disappoints- it's my best friend's favourite taco spot in the GTA so I get to come every time I visit. The vibes are always good and if you come on a weeknight the food comes extremely fast. I don't think the price is outrageous for the amount they fill the tacos however I do agree that you need 3-4 to fill up (and probably an appetizer) which then gets pretty pricey. Overall I have not tried a single taco here I didn't like, all original flavours and unique concepts, always consistent.

2 meat tacos, 2 vegan tacos

Food was absolutely delicious. The habanero brisket taco had way too much habanero sauce, it kind of ruined the taste of the whole taco. Other three were delicious, one was chicken, one was fried oyster mushroom and one was Brussel sprouts. The fried yucca, amazing. Service was quick, felt rushed but then took forever to get the bill? I want to note and confirm it is a bit noisy, if you're someone who gets overstimulated. I would definitely eat here again though since the food was delicious.

The Fish, the Chicharron, the Habanero Brisket and something (maybe the Cease and Desist? Can't quite remember)

OK experience overall. It was a 15ish min wait without reservations. They were going to sit us inside but the music was a bit too loud for our liking so we asked to sit outside. Their "patio" seating is a small alleyway area, which was ok. We ordered 4 tacos (fish, beef brisket, pork belly and something else I can't remember) with some guacamole and chips. The guac & chips were decent but the tacos were kind of small for the price (it's 1 taco per order). Overall the food was decent but just didn't really feel worth the price.

Fabulous experience! The staff were all hard working stars, but Alex got the MVP award! Great suggestions, fabulous tacos, I tried most of them and the beef brisket one is the winner. Some great beers on tap too, you can't go wrong. I WILL be back, mark my words!

After going to Mezcal I can finally compare The Mule to another local taco place. The Mule far exceeds Mezcal on a number of fronts: the food, the atmosphere, and the service. I've been to The Mule on a few separate occasions now and appreciate that very different experiences I have had. One visit was for a group birthday dinner, which was lovely and fun. We sat at a well lit high top table and munched on ok tacos. Another time I came for late night drinks and a bar atmosphere- I was shocked to be in the same place. It was a very cool vibe with a great D.J. and now I can't wait to see what vibe I'll catch the next time I go. Tacos are good, not great, but I have yet to find knock my socks off Mexican food in Canada. The Mule is great for what it is - check it out. Update: The 4 star review is leveling up! I took some out of town veggie friends here last night for drinks and snacks and we were all blown away!! I don't know what kind of tacos I had in the past, but tonight was flavor explosion. I ordered the beef and chicken and was pleased as punch. We started with salmon ceviche which was super spicy and refreshing - good thing we all love spicy food! Even the guacamole was spicy! Same cool atmosphere - excellent cocktails, good service = my new fav Hamilton restaurant.

Went here for dinner on a Friday evening at 5:00pm. It was relatively busy but we were able to get a table for the four of us at the back. This is one hip cool place with graffiti and artwork on the walls, especially downstairs where the restrooms are located. The main floor has bright chandeliers and cool wooden tables. The drink menu is pretty extensive, and they even have a few drink specials. We went with draft beer and Moscow Mules, the latter having excellent fresh taste. The food menu is pretty small, comprised mainly of different tacos. Prices are not cheap, with most small tacos being over $5 a piece. We tried the fish, chicken, pork belly, lamb, and pork/ground beef. All had good flavour, comprised of many different vegetables. The lamb was my least favourite, the pork belly was the best, with lots of meat. We also tried the chips with a bean/tomato/cilantro dip, which was very tasty.

Bingo night

Great tacos, great service. Coming from a meat eater, try the brussel sprout taco. Way better than you'd expect.

I ordered the combination platter and the mini chicken chimi was more outside dough than filling. Odd pairings with Caesar salad. High note were the chicken tamale and deep fried ice cream for dessert. Parking was difficult too in downtown Hamilton.

But, took a long time to get to us, and to get our drinks. The margaritas were, how should I say, crap. We had the fried calamari for an appetizer, really not a Mexican thing, but it was excellent. The nachos were good, not the greatest. Guacamole was really poor, and you get only a small amount. What's with that? We had the seafood chimichanga, and the combo platter. It was all good, not great though. And, get this, it came with a Caesar salad. Are you kidding me? The sauces were really good, not sure if they are house made from a can though. If a Mexican restaurant can't make a half descent margarita and a great guacamole, well..... Still looking for a good Mexican place in the Toronto, Hamilton area. This one is not it.
