Can't say no to half price fish tacos before 5pm Tacos was aite - your average franchise shop tacos. Shops a bit too dark dont really know what you are eating. Service was ok , a few staff but they just walking around. Fish Taco Chorizo Carne Asada

Order the card the card taco is so good. Let's take a moment to appreciate all the colors of the different ingredients in the tacos that I ordered picture has no filter no editing it looks so delicious I don't remember the exact name of the tacos that I ordered one was the cod, I also got the shrimp, and the sweet potato. All of them came battered and fried but they weren't greasy. The card taco was extremely light the fish melt in your mouth and the pickled slaw on top was perfection. I found the sweet potato to be a little heavy it's not a good substitute for protein in my opinion but it was seasoned very well. This one is spicy The shrimp taco I was on the fence I found that it tasted very sweet to me more like a dessert I didn't think that the toppings went well with the shrimp

LC Nachos ($21.95)

I've been to La Carnita a few times but this is a first for their patio. We got there around 6pm on a Friday just before dinner rush, however we still waited for around 30 mins. They don't have a text or call option like other places so you have to be in the area when they call your name. This can be super difficult especially when they tell you that the wait can take up to 90 minutes. They do have a few chairs out front for you to sit while you wait. We ended up getting the LC nachos ($21.95) to share between two people. I would say that the portion was quite good and can be enough to share between 4 people even. We then got 2 of the Achiote Chicken, Pollo Frito, and a In Cod We Trust. The Pollo Frito was definitely the best one with 2 big pieces of fried chicken and the sauce was amazing. However, the piece of cod was tiny! A lot smaller than the last time we came and it was quite bland compared to the other ones. Overall, the tacos are quite small. It usually takes me 3 to 4 bites to finish and I take pretty small ones. Each one is about the size of my hand. The waiter was great though, checked up on us the perfect amount of times and was super nice. Given that this location is quite central in Mississauga, I'll definitely be back for more of those Pollo Frito tacos.

The Square One location offers halal chicken and steak! The portion size was reasonable and tacos were filled till the top. They have plenty of seating and the service I found to be quick and excellent. Definitely has great vibes to hang out with friends

Corn

The corn was so sad! The tacos were good, I don't like corn tortilla, i completely forgot to ask if there was flour option. The mushroom quesadilla is the STAR, just get this and skip everything else!!!!!!!!

Carne asada and Baja shrimp tacos

Bought a couple of tacos for take out and wasn't blown away. Let's start off with the price. Two tacos came to $15.... And well just look at them. Nothing special, small portion. No reason they should be $15 but we wanted to try La carnita tacos so we went for it. The Baja shrimp was quite sweet and was covered in iceberg lettuce and the carne asada was okay. Definitely better tacos in the city.

Whenever I'm at Square One, this is probably the only spot I'll grab food from. My favourites are the Vegan Chorizo and Sweet Potato, even though they're the only vegan tacos on the menu. Still my favourite. The servers are very friendly and I can tell they love their jobs which is always wonderful to be have. Come here during happy hour! Worth it!

La Carnita is a chain restaurant with locations all over downtown and in western Canada as well. Their location in the fairly new, fancy Food District is beautifully furnished. Dimly lit and complete with a bar and rustic tinge, La Carnita is the ultimate date spot. My friend and I came in a Thursday night and were immediately seated. We shared a Mexican Street Corn, which cost $9.95 for two full cobs slathered with cream, cheese, spices, then grilled. The corn was tasty - the sweetness of the kernels contrasted beautifully with the saltiness of the crumbled cheese and the rich crema. It was a little messy to eat, but was a great appetizer! I then ordered the Baja shrimp taco and the spicy mushroom taco. I tried the shrimp one first, not wanting to mute and muddle my taste buds with the spicy mushrooms. The shrimp one was delicious! I loved that I had 3-4 chunks of fried shrimp, and the pickled kohlrabi balanced the tangy garlic mayo. I loved the bright pop and vibrant flavour that the kohlrabi imparted. The mushroom taco had a nice kick to it, though the flavours fell a little flatter. There was a pleasant earthiness, and I enjoyed the contrasting textures of the crispy shallots against the soft mushrooms. The taco fillings and flavours were delightful, but I really didn't enjoy the tortilla. It was grainy, bland, and also had a slightly stale aftertaste. Compared to the house-made ones offered at Campechano, these definitely paled in comparison and were quite disappointing. In fact, it was so jarring that I couldn't help but pause after my first bite - the flavour threw me off so much! Overall, I liked La Carnita, but wasn't impressed by their tortillas. I also found it slightly overpriced for the portion sizes - the tacos were of similar size as my palm, but each cost near $6. Crazy!

Awesome taco kit!

I've had tacos at one of the La Carnita downtown locations before and also tried a taco kit from one of their other locations earlier this summer, so I was eager to see whether this location measured up. I'm happy to say that it did based on my recent visit here for my takeout order, which is great that the locations are consistent! I got the taco kit for about $33, which is a great price for everything that you get. It comes with your choice of protein like Mexican chorizo, chicken or vegan chicken, 10 tacos (hard or soft), as well as a whole bunch of toppings like lettuce, cheese, salsa, guacamole (awesome portion!), shallots, pickled onions and jalapeños. It also comes with sauces like chipotle mayo, cream sauce and hot sauce - all are delicious no matter which protein you order! I was happy with how everything tasted and it was great how this was enough for two meals for 2 people. When I'm in the area again, I look forward to trying even more items off their menu. Definitely recommend La Carnita!

I wish the Prices weren't so damn expensive, or else this place would easily get a 5 star. Seriously you can't charge Toronto Prices in Mississauga, its ridiculous. Tacos range between 6-7 dollars each, the sizes are about the size of a small serving plate 5.5-6inches They don't even give double tortillas at the bottom to catch any "fly away's" so u can make them into 2 tacos. ****Best To Worst Tacos Carne Asada - 7$ -VERY GOOD, love the meat, Tomatillo Salsa and Lime Guac, just hits it home Baja Shrimp - $6.50 - It's OKAY, like you won't taste the shrimp with all the PICKLED KOHLRABI ACHIOTE CHICKEN - $6.5 - Decent, wouldn't order again. Dry Chicken same thing rly sweet salsa not getting meat flavours at all In Cod we trust - $7.0 - Nope Straight up, Pickled Red Cabbage was wayy too strong tasted like floor cleaner to me. Like its supposed to refreshing but it must of been really old because it came to us cabbage all soft. Even the service was lacking. My server was quick to ask if we wanted drinks, and flew away and never came back. Most of the time we had to ask for a diffferent server to call back our server. If you wanted to make this place a bar, I would suggest not placing yourself next to Gaming Bar next door (Rec Room), nobody is going to pay that much for alcohol 14$ for a cocktail, you can get next door at Rec Room for $9. It's worth a try because Mississauga lacks the Mexico cultural cuisine, but not worth a retry with all the other wonderful places you can eat at Square one.

3 Chicken Crunch Wrap Tacos

Downtown Toronto vibes in Sauga - I'll take it! I came here with a group of friends and the atmosphere was so fun. Music was vibrant and everyone looked like they were having a good time. Service was reasonably timed and we were told we had 1.5 hours at the beginning of our slot. I ordered the Sunday crunch wrap special and my friends ordered taco combos as well as a carne asada/salad plate as mains. They split the nachos and the serving size was decent. I was told the sweet potato tacos pack some heat so if you can't handle spice don't order it or ask for mild. We asked our server for the mojito mocktail recipe and he dismissed us the first 2 times, but we got it the last time. I would recommend La Carnita, I will have to try the downtown locations as well.

I have only been to Square one a handful of times. I heard about the Food District from a friend of mine. When i saw the plans and what was opening up there, i only had eyes for La Carnita! We were heading home from Georgetown, so we decided to stop at the mall. The plan was, feed the kidlets at the food court and then go to La Carnita for lunch. We arrived just before 1pm on the last Saturday in April. It was packed and really busy, but it didn't take long to be seated by the hostess. Our server (i could kick myself for not remembering his name - but the music was way TOO loud!) was AMAZING! He was quick to take our orders, bring us drinks and our appetizers out. Explained the menu to us, offered some suggestions etc. Hubby & I ordered just a few items to try out: Mini Tostadas - little bites of heaven - literally! Black Bean, sesame, pomegranate, corn salsa & sprouts - super delish. We ordered 2 since our server explained that there are only 3 small tostadas a little bigger than a toonie per order. Tortilla Chips with Guacamole & Corn Salsa - tortilla sauce with seasoning that had a little kick. Our kids were disappointed as my 5 year old found them to be too spicy. This is where feeding them at the food court was a win for us! lol. The guac was fresh, the corn salsa had a good amount of heat with the sweet corn. I could've eaten them until closing. Achiote Chicken taco - Grilled Chicken, Pineapple & Jalapeño Salsa, Crema, Crispy Shallots, Cotija Cheese - OMG - the pineapple was the hero in this one to bring it all together! Carne Asada - Grilled Steak, Chipotle Mayo, Tomatillo Salsa, Crispy Shallots, Lime Avocado, Cilantro - steak was cooked perfectly so it was tender. The lime, avocado & cilantro with crispy shallots gave it such a fresh taste. My only regret was eating only 2 tacos. My hubby didn't quite share my enthusiasm for the food. He was still hungry after the tortilla & chips, tostadas & 2 small tacos. Tacos are priced from $4.95 to $5.95 each/for 1! The only thing that didn't sit well with me was how ridiculously loud the music was. Don't get me wrong, i love good music while enjoying great food especially at a Mexican restaurant. However, the bass was so loud you can hardly hear the person in front of you talking. It was not making me want to stay, but rather eat faster to leave. Who knows, maybe that's what they're looking for?!? lol. It left the music very unenjoyable and giving me an unsettling feeling while i was eating. The table of 6 beside us agreed. Would i go back - YES! Can't wait to try more items from the menu, i just wish all of the locations weren't so far from Markham.

&14.95/ short ribs, $5.95-6.95/ taco Tried La Carnita for the first rime and it's now my favourite Mexican spot! The carne asada short ribs were SOOOOOOOOOO good! It's cut short ribs smothered with a hot honey chipotle glaze. The tacos are really solid. My boyfriend and I started off ordering 3, and then kept on ordering 1 after another bc we wanted to try all of them. I definitely recommend the baja shrimp and carne asada steak tacos! We also tried the mushroom one (ikr mushrooms on tacos?!?!) and it turned out to be super flavourful as well. Chicken one was pretty good too. Also got the churros because might as well lol and they were also yummy. Maybe not worth the price though, I think they were either $8 or $10 for 4. La Carnita has locations in downtown Toronto and Mississauga.

Burger $8.95. Defs not worth $9 lol

When I walked-in, there was a line-up of customers waiting to be served at the ordering counter. I took some time to look at the menu while I was waiting in the line. The line went quickly, which was great, and before I knew it, I was at the front of the line. Upon reaching the front of the line, I was greeted by a kind young woman, whom asked what I would like. I settled on two tacos; one with ground beef, and the other with grilled chicken. I was then given a number plaque, and asked to find a table in order to wait for the food. I waited about ten minutes, then was brought the food directly to my table, which I thought was great. When I noticed the two tacos on my dish, I was impressed with how full they were. There was also additional dipping sauce that came with my meal, along with two bottles of sauces that the server gave to me when he dropped off my food items. When I bit into the tacos, I was blown away at how delicious they were! The ground beef and grilled chicken were cooked to perfection, juicy and appetizing. I loved how full the tacos were, as there was plenty to munch on, which filled me up quite quickly. Along with the hip-happening Spanish music playing on the speaker, and the Mexican-themed decor on the walls, this restaurant truly embodied authentic Mexican cuisine. Complete with excellent service, this experience was something to remember. I will definitely be back!

We decided to start with the Fries Supreme, which have obviously been modeled after Taco Bell's iconic dish. And yeah, they definitely reminded me of that concoction. The fries could've been fresher and hotter but otherwise I quite enjoyed this messy plate. For the main, I went with a couple of tacos: the Chorizo and the Pulled Pork. The latter I found especially enjoyable, as the sauce the pork had been cooked in was delicious. (It was large chunks of pork, though, so I'm not quite sure it qualifies as pulled pork.) The many hot sauces available, plus the two sauces brought with the tacos, really elevated the whole thing, but I really enjoyed the creamy, cilantro-forward sauce included on the plate. Contigo is a cool little place. I'm sure I'll be returning.

Upon entering this restaurant, we were kindly greeted by the server at the front. We were then brought to a table on the upper level near the window which was near the railing therefore, was a tad tight. The music was lively however, not too loud. As well, the décor was set just right for a Mexican restaurant, with many decorations relating to the Day Of The Dead, which is a Mexican holiday. For my meal, I had settled on the pork carnitas without any onion or cilantro, while my daughter had the french fries, and my mother had the beef picadillo. I found that the wraps for the pork carnitas weren't too fresh however, the pork was a good amount, and tasted well-prepared. I would have liked to have some sort of a sauce or topping to go with the pork carnitas however, I only had the side order of diced avocado which was given, along with some Mexican inspired rice. Overall, the food was good however, it wasn't as good as I would have hoped. The prices were a tad high for what we had gotten however, I do respect that this is a family-owned business, and prices are high at every restaurant these days. The service was definitely great, with the server coming to check in on us as we dined, and filling up our water jug from time-to-time. I may come back here to try another item, as the food is definitely authentic, and well-prepared.

While I enjoy shawarma, I often find it too heavy especially for summer, so I tend to stay away. I liked this chicken/rice box a lot since the sauce felt much lighter and easier to eat even when it's hot outside. The portion size was good; the styrofoam takeout box the meal came in was topped up and the amount in it would definitely be enough for one person. There was enough sauce, the whole bowl felt very fresh, and I liked the tomatoes that topped the bowl since it added something cold + tangy to the meal. Location is convenient, next to Square One and easy to find, but has limited (all paid) street parking. It's best to go with someone to drive, pop off quickly to pick up, and go. All in all a solid experience. I'd definitely come back for more Alijandro's Box. At the BOGO price I got it for, portion size was great, but at the original price, I'd think it leans towards being pricey, as the box isn't really that full. But, flavour and freshness are all really good, so I can anticipate myself craving this soon!
