The Moose Outpost - Do not come here if this isn't what you are expecting. - Burgers Near Me - Dubois, Wyoming

We stopped at The Moose Outpost for lunch and absolutely loved it. The restaurant is welcoming and the people that worked there were so friendly! You can sit inside or outside. They had porch swings out front and picnic tables to sit out. We also loved all the moose decor. They have a large selection of burgers and fries. They also had milkshakes and ice cream. I ordered the veggie burger with fries and my husband ordered a cheeseburger with fries. The fries were flavorful and delicious! The veggie burger had fresh ingredients and tasted amazing! We both loved our meal! Highly recommend to all! read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way home to Colorado. Delicious food, made to order, and excellent service. Extremely friendly staff. My wife took me to the Moose Outpost for my birthday dinner. My moose burger, fries and salted caramel shake were outstanding. We don't eat out often but the food is always first rate. Definitely a 5 star establishment. Great service and the price is reasonable. Well done!! read more

The Moose Outpost is a delightful stop. The small building is adorable, filled with moose decor. Our party of nine ordered at the counter and enjoyed lunch at the picnic tables in the sunshine. Service was amazing -- friendly, fast, and thoughtful. They brought out the shakes immediately (the huckleberry is a must‑try!) and made sure the kids' meals came out quickly. Our burgers, fries, and tots were all delicious. It's a fun little place with genuinely kind staff, good food, and even a comfy porch swing that adds to the charm. read more

"Some meals just hit different. A juicy burger stacked high, crispy golden fries with the perfect crunch, and an ice-cold shake to top it off... that combo never misses. From the first bite to the last fry at the bottom of the basket, it's comfort food at its finest. read more

One of the best burgers ive ever had no doubt. You can taste just how real each ingredient is too and the service on top of the phenomenal food really just makes this place a true one of a kind. Portions were huge and absolutely justify any price. If you are even passing somewhat near you NEED to come. Very homey and will be making a visit again all the way from texas sometime! read more

Ordered enough chicken nuggets to feed Ghana. The fries are wonderfully crisp, but don't skip out on the baked goods -- they call them "goods" for a reason. The service is 10/10. The worst part about the Outpost experience was having to leave. read more

My husband and I happened upon this gem and didn't know what to expect. It was a small building with a drive up window where you place your order face-to-face with the staff. The staff was AMAZING! They were friendly and making suggestions based upon our questions. I ended up getting a cheeseburger combo and was just expecting "fast food" type burger .... NOPE! This was a gourmet burger made to perfection. My husband and I looked at each other after Our first bites and said WOWWWWW sooooo goood!! The bun was soft and fresh and there were layers of flavor in each bite. The fries and dipping sauce were fantastic AND the staff convinced me to get an espresso shake which was out of this world!! You will not be disappointed when giving this place a try! read more

Top 3 burger of my life. Stopped here on a whim headed to Cody. It's a small place with a drive thru window. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with mustard only. It was amazing! Not only was the burger delicious the bun was outstanding. Also ordered fries and a milkshake and OMG, it was phenomenal. Seriously, stop in no matter what, you will be very pleased. The only disappointment was when we tried to go again on Monday they were closed. We were so bummed. Lastly they were so friendly as well. Thanks for a great meal and experience. read more

Agreeing with reviews before me. I highly recommend this place. We had the bison burger, cheeseburger with pepper Jack, fries and a shake! The fries are great, kinda like steak fries, but coated and seasoned just right. One bag of fries is enough for two people. We had a wonderful experience. It was pretty windy out so we sat inside (very limited inside seating) read more

This is one of the best burgers I've had in my entire life. The service is great. Would deserve more stars if I could give them.

It was overcast and rainy our first day in Grand Teton National Park so we rearranged our day and headed up to Dubois, Wyoming where it was sunny and clear. We had a lovely time checking out the town and the National Big Horn Sheep Museum. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Moose Outpost. My wife had a beef burger and I had a turkey burger. Both were excellent! The ingredients were super fresh and nicely prepared. The fries and coffee milkshake were similarly outstanding. The people working there were friendly and efficient. Prices were very fair especially considering the quality of the food. Seems to be a popular local spot and and an especially fun place for visitors to enjoy when visiting the area. Enjoy the moose sauce! read more

The burgers and shakes are AMAZING! The meat is locally grown and wonderful. The fries and moose sauce are addicting. If you're lucky, you'll hit a day with fresh baked goodies! The Moose Outpost - a wooden door with a sign that says cowboys cowgirls - Burgers Near Me - Dubois, Wyoming

Not sure why it says closed. It is NOT CLOSED. Their menu is uncomplicated: all kinds of burgers, the cheese burger was very delicious, and my husband had the veggie burger and said it was really good, he is vegetarian and it's difficult to find food that he likes at burger places usually. I'm so happy the had a vegetarian option for him that he liked. They also had some baked goodies we had the oatmeal cookie. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our drive back home from the Tetons. Great little spot off the road. Everything was delicious! Burgers, fries and onion rings were on point! Definitely wools recommend and we will be back! read more

My review was from a dining experience in June. They have apparently updated their fries since then. I look forward to trying them! There are two signs outside the Moose Outpost, one says "Best Burgers in Town", the other says "Best Fries in Town". One of these signs is true and one is a blatant lie. The burgers are delicious, easily one of the best burgers I have had anywhere in this fine country... The fries...were disgusting. The fries were under cooked, almost raw, green and very chewy. When I asked the owner about my fries (assuming I had just gotten a bad batch), she informed me that the fries were just fine and it was in fact my taste buds that were the problem. She became very rude and belligerent, telling me that her fries were delicious and the only reason I didn't like them is because I was used to "cheap, reconstituted fries", and that "fresh fries always tasted the way her's do"...I smiled politely and left, not wanting to get in to a further argument... Normally I would just have shrugged this experience off and moved on with my life. However, her comments ate at me, surely not all fresh fries are rubbery...I know for a fact that I've had fresh fries that I enjoyed (haven't I?)...I had to find out... A few days later I bought a small deep fryer and a bag of potatoes from the local Super Foods. I went home, cut the potatoes by hand and proceeded to fry up the most delicious, crispy, golden fries I have ever had...my family loved them and has requested I make them again and again. Here is the really funny thing, I have asked everyone I meet in this town what they think of the Moose Outpost, without fail I get the same reaction "burgers great, fries horrible". The Moose Outpost even has a newspaper article about itself from when they opened on their wall. I read the article and the owner said her only complaint about the food was that some people don't like the fries...she then is quoted as saying the same thing she told me, that her fries are just fine and its the people who have the problem...nope, sorry, the people have spoken. Finally, here is my offer to the Moose Outpost. Let me come in and teach you how to make good, crispy, golden, delicious fresh cut fries. I won't charge you, It will probably only take half an hour or so...Let me do this as a service to the community..... Good luck to you, and may the next time I roll through town the fries be just as good as the burgers :-) read more

The food was really good. Little pricey, little slow as with everything in the entire state of Wyoming. For a couple driving through it's a good stop. For a family you better bring your wallet or stick to sandwiches in the cooler. Overall I'd eat there if I was in the area again. read more

Got some fries. $11 for 2 large = one that is shown in the photo. Not hand cut. Sysco fries. We were going to get onion rings but they were out. I doubt they were out since the menu in the store didn't have onion rings. Too much money and too small of portions to come back. read more
