Eggs cooked perfectly. ...and the hashbrowns were crispy, hot and tasty. Freshly brewed coffee served with a smile. Our server was a hoot. She was engaging and interesting. She also had funny sayings when she served the meal. "Elbows up, Plates down." The locals obviously like this place as it fills up quickly. I came into the Cowboy Cafe while my husband Ryan was working close by on a work trip. I was greeted with a smile. They definitely have lots of locals but also tons of people coming through on snowmobiles. My server was amazing. She kept everything clean, checked on everyone constantly, while alarms grabbing and serving the food keeping things clean checking on people etc etc and did it while making people laugh and smile. I ordered this delicious breakfast with home made biscuits that were heavenly! The eggs hashbrowns and maple sausages cooked to perfection! Ryan came in to get a bite with me before we headed back to Denver! He was also greeted and got him some breakfast as well he got an omelette which he also enjoyed! We went to pay and during that moment a person came into this tiny adorable diner and casually said "we have 24 people " . I looked at the server and she smiled and said I'm gonna pretend to not be overwhelmed by that lol we all laughed smiled and she handled that situation like such a champ. Ryan and I scurried out. So note to large groups if you have well over 20 people you should totally call ahead especially if you plan on going into a little diner in a small town. But I was so impressed with how they handled it with a smile and a laugh and took care of everyone as we headed out. The young girl clearing out tables was very sweet but the waitress was less than friendly. However, the food was fantastic. I had their new homemade red wine sangria which was very good. My daughters split the lemon and strawberry French toast and I had their burger with the fried cheese curds. My husband had their Ruben sandwich. Their fries were also delicious. In my opinion the pies are nothing special as stated in the reviews I've read. Our burgers were good but it is overpriced for what you get.

While visiting Grand Tetons NP we wanted to try some good eats in the area. We were in Dubois visiting the National Military Vehicles Museum (great place and huge) and looking at the great reviews picked this place. It's a very small place but we got a table immediately since it was early. Ordered the bison steak and burger. Both were really good. The burger was my favorite. Very tender and juicy. Of course we had to get some of their homemade pies. They were also huge and delicious. Service was good. A little short handed so I felt it could've been more attention to guests. Very popular location. We showed up right at lunch rush on a Sunday, and the place was packed. We still only had to wait about 10 minutes before seating. FOOD: Well done burgers and sandwiches. We were on our way to Moran Wyoming and desperately needed coffee and something to eat. I found the Cowboy Cafe on Yelp and we weren't disappointed. The little place was packed and Molly welcomed us and brought us coffee. Dave and I had the Sheridan Palace Omelettes with Green Chili. Dave had Elk Sausage in his and I had Ham. My husband ordered the seared pork shank for takeout. He was so impressed with the meal. He is very picky so that's a huge compliment! He said the restaurant was very busy yet ,He got his dinner in a very timely manner. Customer service was wonderful. Very friendly staff. Raw wood decor with cowboy upholstered booths. The buratta burger was string cheesy delicious with bacon as a bonus. The local brewery beer came with an ice chilled mug to help cool off on a hot day. You can't leave without getting a slice of homemade pie (or two). I ordered the burger because I wanted to try the meat. Now, personally, it was a bit to lean for me. That is no complaint to the chef. It's just a personal preference on the meat choice. I did like how the burger was crafted though. It had all of the traditional burger goodies on it, with a side of chips. Classic lunch! This restaurant is for sure a staple in this area and on this main road. Be sure to stop by and get a classic lunch while in Dubois. Bold menu for a small cafe in a small town. Surprising the food was good. So don't judge it based on the initial walk in. The town is a small mountain town...ok. I gave it a four for a couple reasons only, not for the flavor, service, or vibe. I gave a 4 because the portions were a bit wanting, the presentation was "meh", and I ordered the Carnitas, potato, cheesey thing which turned out to be a diced up pork chop, fried potatoes and cheddar with a few Jalapeños all slathered in BBQ sauce. This is a little gem in Dubois. Small rustic diner with a small handful of seats outside (after Memorial Day). Service is usually ok, but the food is fabulous! Lots of unique offerings (for example, one of the appetizers is called "moose droppings" which are a little fried cheese bites with a nice dipping sauce) - from salads, to fresh burgers (love the bison burger) to main courses that are all cooked to perfection with nice flavor and sides! Nice local beer and fun beverages like sangrias! Also a fabulous, diverse selection of pies for dessert! Burgers are flavorful and juicy. I got the Popper, which had a good kick to it and my kids got basic cheeseburgers, which they all inhaled in no time. My wife got the chicken prosciutto sandwich, which also was very delicious. For dessert, we had to get some of their famous pies and between the five of us, all shared pieces of blackberry-raspberry, peach, and pumpkin. All portions were huge and absolutely delicious! It's clean and the people are friendly. The menu has familiar items so there's something for everyone. I had some kind of flash fried pork shank dish that consisted of a large chunk of meat, (on the bone), some potatoes and some veggies...with a thick brown gravy all over it just to top things off. Wild. You can't just get stuff like this anywhere. For the price it would be hard to beat. Overall a solid place for a big fat unpretentious meal at a good price.
