Just heard about this little gem a couple weeks ago, paid it a visit for a quick cold one to check it out and was totally delighted! Love all the neon, indoors and out. Love the friendly but low-key regulars (easy to spot); love the bartender and the bar-dog, Brandon. He has his own bar stool and hops up, visits, and then goes to check out newcomers. Love the awesome food truck at the edge of parking lot, Mel's Germarica, with Mel cooking up maybe the best hamburger ever and the Schnitzel, of all things to find on a food truck menu, is absolutely delicious. She does great wings on certain nights and cooks up other items for the bar's regulars. This past Saturday my daughter and I joined the wonderful mixed crowd on The Moon's patio for really good crawfish and really good Zydeco. Can't wait to attend some of the other planned activities. I've been coming here since 2006. That's a lot of people come and gone. Coldest beer in Texas. Motorcycle friendly, live music, great outside garden seating area and bandstand. When it's hot or bad weather nice the live show inside. Great people run and work here. When in La Porte don't miss this place as one of your stops. read more

Definitely a fun place with interesting people and seems to be something going on every night of the week. It's described as a biker bar, and there definitely are bikes, but the crowd is relatively friendly and the employees are great. Your sure to get an interesting story out of any visit.... try your beer with some salt if your from the North. read more

The Neon Moon is a true hidden Gem....Because I never expected to find this Garden Spot with GREAT Local Musicians perfoming here, in litterally blocks from the plants! (You'd never even know they were there). BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE SUNDAY EVENG JAM SESSIONS! The inside of the bar is admittedly tiny but, eclecticly "decorated" with loads of Local Talent Memorabelia, a little noisy but, with MUSIC, Pool and Darts, and very friendly patrons laughing and joking...BUT, the OUTSIDE is like walking into a garden in Musical Never Neverland! A nice large stage area for local artists to perform on, Covered shady breezy Patio for listeners to veiw from, and a lovely, whimsical Garden/Yard area to gather in....piano key paths, little gnomes and critters peeping out from under flowers, gnarly bridges, colorful objects gleaming from the trees and comfortable benches. The Staff is friendly and the beer selection is good...Mixed Drinks are made with a GUSTO and the Bloody Marys are like a meal in a glass!
